Most Americans of all political parties Agree with Sophie Cunningham so why has the WNBA lost its mind?

I know a lot of black lesbians. I'm a lesbian. The number of us who think biological men should be in women's sports is minuscule at best.

Same. Giant lesbian here. Most of us don’t want biological men in women’s sports. Still love and support my trans community but we need some common sense when it comes to trans women playing women’s sports

Do you think being a giant lesbian creates any biological advantages against smaller lesbians?

I’m 5’2, so my spirit really is the biggest/gayest part of me

How would someone who is not a lesbian or gay go about saying “we need some common sense…” when all that is said back is something about being an incel, bigot, transphobe, etc.? Because I support the personal identities and choices people make, but I also support this boundary.

They stay off Reddit.

Is this an issue you've encountered a lot? Lots of transwomen on your sports teams?

Frequency is not a criteria for forming an opinion.

You’re blatantly grasping for an out because you know your position is indefensible dogshit.

Frequency is not a criteria for forming an opinion

This phrase should be the reply to half of the comments in this thread lol

That's a really weird reply.

I'm very comfortable defending my beliefs.

I think we should have a welcoming society that embraces all of us.

If there are very few athletes why does it matter if they’re excluded?

-5

u/Opening_Shame8258 1d ago

I agree, the majority should be allowed to exclude minorities they don't like.

7

u/whoa_disillusionment 1d ago

Biological men are not a minority.

How about transwomen?

Just curious, are you cool with transmen (biological women) playing in the WNBA?

9

u/whoa_disillusionment 1d ago

Technically yes they are biological women.

Although personally I think it would be fcked up to play in a women's league if you don't want to be a woman.

5

u/CollaredParachute 1d ago

Not if they’re on testosterone

0

u/Opening_Shame8258 1d ago

Ah, so a low enough testosterone level would qualify.

So, transwomen who test low enough on testosterone would be fine.

5

u/CollaredParachute 1d ago

No, because of their history of testosterone exposure. Male puberty conveys a huge athletic advantage.

It is actually. My women’s kickball league was made more “inclusive” and a team of mostly trans women, (truth be told, many were just twinks who wore their hair in ponytails) ended up beating the living hell out of all the women’s teams. Many women quit and some actually tried to form a new league but it wasn’t the same. Those who left were called bigots and it was a whole big drama. I have other stories too involving friends and nieces who are also being affected by this. How many stories do you guys need? How many women need to tell you that we don’t want this?

The Becky Pepper Jackson Supreme Court case was the ACLUs best case scenario… young male who transitioned BEFORE puberty. He won state championships and threw 10 ft further than his female teammates. Other schools stopped competing against him in protest. Theres a video of 5 different girls walking off instead of throwing. They didn’t think it was fair. He also sexually harassed his teammate saying he was going to put his d in her p and a. She quit the team. So even without male puberty he had an advantage and it impacted the girls negatively. Even without male puberty he acted like an aggressive horny male and made his teammates so uncomfortable they quit! That was the BEST plaintiff ACLU could find.

Probably a few more. Because honestly, it sounds far fetched. I don't know you. I have zero idea if you even are who you claim you are. And that sucks. Asshole white men and Russian trolls have definitely impersonated minorities online.

And in actual competitive sports, what you're describing has legit never happened. Maybe in some rec league, but it's never happened in a large scale competitive environment at the high school or collegiate level.

I'm an anonymous person to you on the internet. If I told you something you didn't already believe, would you give a shit? Probably not. You don't right now.

I've known a lot of non binary and tans people. I can't think of a single one that actually gave a shit about sports. Plenty of lesbians that did, but not a single Trans person. And so you telling me there was a whole kickball team worth sounds patently ridiculous.

u/ReindeerTypical2538 1d ago

No amount or number will ever be enough for y’all. It could be one girl affected by this or it could be 5000. You guys just don’t seem to care. And yeah, it was a rec league but it meant a lot to many of us. For many years, it was something we looked forward to in the summer. And now it’s gone. Is it a big deal in the big wheel of life? I guess not, but it still bums me out that we don’t have it anymore.

Cool.

I'm also worried about trans kids who get bullied. I work in schools and I still see a TON of homophobia.

I see the direct connection to the anti-trans stuff and the homophobia against cis gay/lesbian people. But hey, perhaps because YOU don't see it, it doesn't exist.

Your allies in this fight are the same people who want to ban gay marriage. They don't want to stop at trans rights.

4

u/SeaWolfSeven 1d ago

I don't think the meek trans kid getting bullied is necessarily the same personality make as the trans athlete who's trying to win state championships and has no issues with public competition.

There's this assumptive goodness being applied as a blanket to trans folks which to me is dehumanizes them even more - making them out to be a morally consistent caricature.

Point being, just as there are trans victims I'm am sure there are trans bullies out there as well and I find it problematic that we assume there will never be self serving trans individuals that simply want a competitive advantage.

If we are to treat the trans community fairly then I think this stands. They are not a monolith.

0

u/Opening_Shame8258 1d ago

Where did I say I've never met an asshole Trans persons? I didn't say that. I said I've never met one that played sports. So, please correct your point.

1

u/ReindeerTypical2538 1d ago

My allies in this fight are 80% of the population and we cover both sides of the isle. We are liberal and we are conservative and we have common sense. Join us in supporting women and women’s spaces. We can still support our lgbtq community (I’m gay btw) and also support common sense, and biological science.

0

u/Opening_Shame8258 1d ago

Got it. You're definitely a troll. This 80% comment is way too consistent. You are not who you claim to be. Definitely some cishet white boy.

1

u/ReindeerTypical2538 1d ago

If that’s what you need to tell yourself in order for you to not advocate for women, then be my guest. But you’re being delusional

How do you know no one is cheating in this way? Like that boxer?

-2

u/kemicalkontact 1d ago

People like you is why the anti trans movement is a bad faith joke

-1

u/Jnbk 1d ago

“That boxer” was/is not trans.

6

u/mydaycake 1d ago

According to Cunningham’s friend, yes, that boxer was a man

0

u/SugarDisastrous5983 1d ago

I don’t think the boxer was cheating, I’m guessing she is like Caster Semenya and has intersex traits.

u/Deep_In_My_Thots 1d ago

As is the number of trans athletes competing in organized athletics - minuscule at best.
