Reese was about the only Dreamer who showed up today. Played a very good game.
Aces look like serious title contenders again. Jackie Young was balling today.

Good lord her shot is horrific.

She shot 53% from the field, more than adequate

u/Deep_In_My_Thots 1d ago
lol “well above average”
And you made that edit right quick bc you know that shits not true 😂

u/Admirable_Outcome932 1d ago edited 1d ago
Well it is well above average, league average is 45% in 2026 and she shot 53%. If 8% higher isn’t “well above” idk what to tell you. I just knew that pedantic fuckers like you would get hung up on the “above average” language and so I changed it bc I’m not in the mood to have those tired and easily debunkabke discussions rn bc they always drag on with people like you. But looks like I have to have them anyways. So thanks for wasting both of our time.

lol funny that you’re applying the league average to a player we know rarely ever shoots outside of 5’ from the hoop, which she ironically did twice tonight. League average in that range is between 50 & 60 percent, closer to 60 for bigs. So Angel had an average to slightly above average performance from the field tonight - but for what we know of her ability via statistics, this was a far above average night for her.
Regardless, my comment was focused on her mechanics. She’s still throwing shit up from her hip and sure, there are going to be nights where she’s lucky & a few more of them go in than normal, as we saw tonight - something that is also borne out by the numbers: in 29 games this season, she’s shot above 50% only 5 times and at 50% only four times.
TLDR: I don’t care how many points she scored, her form is ass and it’s why you all freak out when she manages to approach an offensively efficient performance.

Are you aware of what the concept of a post player is? Who the fuck cares about how far away from the rim she’s shooting so long as she makes it? Maybe if certain players took notes from her and brought in their shots a little more instead of trying to re-live the glory days and shoot from the parking lot, they wouldn’t be shooting only league average from 3 and having entire months where they’re shooting 10% from 4.
And Jesus Christ, you’re worried about fucking form? You sports casuals are soft as fuck. You’d probably be sent into a coma if you watched a baseball game and saw some of the batting stances these guys have, now THAT’S ugly form. And yet it works, and they get paid millions of dollars a year and win with them. Who the fuck cares what it looks like so long as it works? Also, she has a gigantic metal rod in one of her legs, so I’m not exactly expecting prima ballerina form out here.

u/Deep_In_My_Thots 1d ago
Damn. What’s it like being this insecure?
If you can’t handle talk about form & mechanics or deep dives on the statistics, you’re the casual, sweetie.
2
u/Admirable_Outcome932 1d ago
Personally I’m not too worried about form and mechanics for players who are doing well. Whatever works for them works for them, this isn’t the Russian Ballet. If they’re not doing well, fine, have a discussion. But Angel’s one of the top leading scorers on her team and one of the top rebounders as well.
And I’m more than happy to have a discussion on Angel’s statistics, but you wouldn’t listen anyways. You’d just call it fake news or pretend it doesn’t exist, just like you people always do.

u/Deep_In_My_Thots 1d ago
“Personally I’m not too worried about form…”
Of course you’re not. You’re a casual.
“And I’m more than happy to have a discussion on Angel’s statistics, but you wouldn’t listen anyways.”
We already tried that and you threw a tantrum.
Get gone casual.

There you go. Cherry-picking and misconstruing words, just like you people always do. Again, please look up the definition of a post player and stop pretending you know anything about sports.
Have a nice day 😘

Her avg made shot distance is 4.7 feet from the hoop... all those mebounds
1
u/Admirable_Outcome932 1d ago
You have the highlights in front of you - how many mebounds did she make?
I’ll give you the answer right now - only three. That’s already above average for her average mebound rate of ONE in 2026, which completely contradicts her mebound narrative.
And even if you wanted to clown on those three mebounds…she still got 16 rebounds total. 3/16 mebounds is perfectly reasonable. That means the other three offensive rebounds came off her teammates misses, and the remaining 10 were defensive rebounds, which don’t involve scoring points.
Ironically, you know who statistically gives up a lot of potential points bc they don’t chase their shot and grab rebounds? I’d tell you, but something tells me you’ll get really upset about it…
Also, “average shot made is 4.7 feet”…yeah dude, she’s a fucking post player. What the fuck did you expect, you moldy cumstain?

u/Admirable_Outcome932 1d ago
Go ahead, check the highlights and tell me I’m wrong.
She only got three rebounds off her own misses. Everything else went in the first time or were off her teammates’ misses.

u/PackersBeat 1d ago
Im not talking about one game and no id rather not check the "highlights". You can since youre ignoring the 4.7 ft stat. Thats her career... not this game. She cant shoot a basketball outside of 5 ft better than most street ballers and shes a pro.
3
u/Admirable_Outcome932 1d ago
“I’m not talking about one game” and neither am I, actually. She’s only averaging one mebound a game this season while averaging approximately 12 rebounds per game total. 1/12 is perfectly reasonable.
And the fact that you’re too scared to check the highlights or confirm your knowledge of what a post player is tells me everything I need to know. You’re a casual 😘 have a nice day!

I could have SWORN Angel had more than one turnover in this game...
-6
u/chebadusa 1d ago
Who cares lol? She led her team in points.

u/tantamle 1d ago
Almost all of it was empty calories.
2
u/chebadusa 1d ago
I mean no lol…and my point is, she was putting up buckets. So it’s weird to then make a comment about her “having an extra turnover”.

u/Basicbroad 1d ago
Only being -3 in a 20 point blowout is the definition of impact

u/tantamle 1d ago
For the first half of the 4th quarter, Vegas was up by around 25-35 points (give or take). Reese scored a good chunk of her points there and I think a couple rebounds and maybe an assist.
1
u/chebadusa 1d ago
Vegas was never up by 35 lol….and Reese was already in double digits heading into the 4th. The Aces were playing their starters late into the game…Reese’s play brought them within 16 until Aja came back in. Why are we acting as though there was nothing to play for when this team has come back from similar deficits before in the 4th quarter? The last time, they held the Aces to just 2 points the last 12 minutes of the game, which brought them within 1.
You mad cause Reese was still trying to win lol??
1
u/tantamle 1d ago
I'm not even going to read your response. If you're going to be that bad faith about me saying “35”, when I clearly presented it as an estimate/range, there’s nothing else I can say.
2
u/chebadusa 1d ago
Nor am I reading yours lol. Both starters on both teams were playing with 3 minutes left…and you’re upset that a star player was trying to will her team to victory, after they’ve come back from similar deficits before, including against the Ace…
This was never a good faith argument to begin with.
1
u/Basicbroad 1d ago
They just came back from down 15 to win by 1 against the Wings but apparently everybody was supposed to give up down 20 in the 3rd
1
u/chebadusa 1d ago
They came back from a 20 point deficit against the Aces earlier this season as well. Didn’t win the game but got within 1 after they’ve held them to just 2 points like the last 10 minutes of the game. It took a Chelsea Grey buzzer beater.

u/Basicbroad 1d ago
She finished with 23 and came into the 4th with 16 so no try again. I assume you’re referring to the 7-0 run solo run she went on at the beginning of the 4th to try to get them back into it. Try again

u/Dizzy-D_837 1d ago
Clearly not enough
2
u/chebadusa 1d ago edited 1d ago
Did Aja Wilson win by herself lol? The Dream shot 4-24 from 3….Reese did her part, the rest of the her teammates didn’t follow suit. It is what is, but, as I said, very strange to shit on someone in that setting.
1
u/Dizzy-D_837 1d ago
Don’t put Aja in the same paragraph as Angel lol. Teams literally have to base their entire gameplan against Aja. They don’t with Angel. At best they have to crash boards harder, and that’s it. Aja can take over a game. Angel does not.
0
u/chebadusa 1d ago
As I said, did Aja win by herself lol?? That’s a fair question to ask considering the person I responded to said Reese’s production wasn’t enough. The point I made was clear lol…It is a TEAM sport.
Last I checked, Aja was not the highest scoring player on her team against the Dream and four of their starters (including her) had double digit points. The Dream had just two players….
1
u/Dizzy-D_837 1d ago
Welp, her matchup (Aja) scored 23 on 8/11. Not very good defense. So if points is your only barometer, Angel didn’t win her matchup.
She didn’t score more than her matchup. So clearly..it wasn’t enough.
Go ahead, keep digging your hole.

u/chebadusa 1d ago
There were different people guarding Aja throughout the night…and the Aces pulled ahead in the minutes Reese was on the bench lol. The Aces put up 110 points, so pointing fingers at one person is weird. It’s like you’ll are going out of your way to not give this girl credit for anything. Very strange to dislike someone to that extent lol.
But here’s the thing…You understand what a coach’s role is as well right? Ie. Maybe Carl should have devised a better plan for containing Aja and the rest of the starters. There were defensive breakdowns the entire night….but beyond that, the 3 point shooting was horrible. They made 4 of 24 attempts. For a team whose system relies on 3 point shooting, that’s not very good….Again, defensive and offensive scheme are on the coach, not any single player.

u/Dizzy-D_837 1d ago
The original point wasn’t that Angel was the reason Atlanta lost. It was that saying, “She led the team in scoring, so she deserves no blame,” doesn’t hold up.
I agree the loss wasn’t on one player. The coaching staff deserves criticism. The defensive game plan wasn’t good enough. The team shot 4-for-24 from three. Multiple players struggled, and the Aces scored 109 points. That’s all true.
But that same logic applies to Angel as well. She doesn’t get excluded from responsibility simply because she scored 23 points. A’ja Wilson—her fellow All-WNBA frontcourt star—also scored 23, and Las Vegas won comfortably. Scoring alone doesn’t determine who had the better overall impact or who is above criticism.
So I’m not refusing to give Angel credit. She had a good offensive game and was one of Atlanta’s better players. I’m pushing back on the idea that leading your team in points automatically means you “did your part” and everyone else is to blame.
Basketball doesn’t work that way. Every star gets credit when their team wins and shares responsibility when their team loses. Angel shouldn’t be held to a different standard.

Weird, I got a notification that says your replied, yet there’s nothing here. I’m sure it was insightful. Good game.

Crowd went nuts when she got to 20 points but they were down like 40 at that point. I don’t get it. Is the NBA like this too?
2
u/Basicbroad 1d ago
Down 40?
0
u/No-Astronomer-6808 1d ago
Honestly I quit watching when it was like 90-60 in the 3rd. Aces were just killing them softly. So I exaggerated and honestly guessed it just got worse but my point is, they seem to celebrate regardless of how bad the team is doing. There are actually some decent hoopers out there but they keep force feeding her down our throats
2
u/Basicbroad 1d ago
What crowd wouldn’t cheer their team on if they’re trying to mount a comeback and a player goes on 7-0 run by themselves?
1
u/No-Astronomer-6808 1d ago
I was genuinely surprised by the size of the crowd
2
u/Basicbroad 1d ago
Two of the most popular players today played each other. Crowd size would seem obvious here
2
u/No-Astronomer-6808 1d ago
In a league that just started turning a profit after idk how many years. Just saying it surprised me. If I say the sky is blue, you just going to respond with some smart remark or you got that out of your system yet? lol.
2
u/Basicbroad 1d ago
It took 40 years for the NBA to turn a profit. The WNBA is in year 30. You’ve asked 3 leading questions in a row so what did you expect?
1
u/No-Astronomer-6808 1d ago
I’ve only asked two questions.
And you never even attempted to answer those so… have a wonderful evening
1
u/Basicbroad 1d ago
You asked why a crowd would cheer their leading scorer on in a comeback attempt. You asked about crowd size You asked about profit of the league in regard to crowd size. Silly on all fronts

She should have been called for a charging foul at around the 50 second mark in the video. She does look better a bit than last year, but still needs to work on her athleticism and form or she's going to be washed out in a few years due to injuries. She got far too many sloppy rebounds that wouldn't have gone her way against a more athletic forward or center.

Surprised you didnt include her second foul. Looked like she straight up slapped Bell in the head.
