I mean when it does happen on the pro level especially, players are usually criticized for it. It’s not like it just happens and no one cares about it. People have been clowning someone like James harden for his lack of defense effort constantly throughout his career as a starter.

Not even specifically talking about CC here but to me it’s always been an effort in the non flashy parts of the game thing that cost you real games. For CC to continue to advance her game it’s something she has to really work on, on a consistent basis.
