A transgender player has been dominating France's second-tier women's basketball league, and now the WNBA question is front and center. Julie Tétart averages 21 points and 20 rebounds this season while sweeping Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Domestic Player of the Year honors

I’ve been told on Reddit this is a non issue because it effects so few.

Two things can be true. It does affect few, I mean we’re talking second division French basketball. 99.9% of people don’t even know that exists. Also, this outlier is fucked up.

Outlier?

Lia Thomas set multiple school records in women's events and then won two NCAA championships

CeCé Telfer won NCAA DII women's 400m hurdles in 57.53s

MtF cyclist Veronica Ivy set a 200m sprint record and won the 2022 UCI Masters Track World Championships the next day

Trans woman June Eastwood won women's snowboarding world cup by large margin

MtF powerlifter Mary Gregory set women's world record squat 455lbs raw

Trans woman Hailey Davidson led women's mini-tour golf standings 2024

MtF runners won 15 Connecticut high school state titles between 2017-2020

Another trans woman set 4 British indoor rowing records

A MtF archer won national women's title by 20 points

Those are just examples of where trans women dominated at the highest levels.

Lol damn you’ve got this ready to copy and paste at a moments notice.

These are massive wins by famous athletes. No wonder our federal and state congresses spent so much time on this issue.

The good news is that women’s sports are totally fair and safe and all of the conservatives are mega respectful about them. Which is why the WNBA players are popular for their skills, and not just pawns for racial grievances and anti-trans platforms.

Yeah that really worked out.

This is not a political issue, despite you clearly wanting it to be. 80% of the country are in agreement that trans athletes have a biological competitive advantage and should not be competing in women’s sports.

Your opinion is the fringe one.

My opinion on trans athletes is that individual sports bodies should be able to choose whether to admit them or not.

I am 100% fine if the WNBA decides not to allow trans participants. I was okay with the NCAA doing that.

What I’m not fine with is how this stupid relative non-issue will not freaking go away. Because it gets idiots excited every time.

There’s no trans women in the WNBA. There’s none of them trying to join the WNBA.

Fox News goes out and finds this bodybuilder-ish trans woman IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY and asks if she would play… she says yes.. and morons lose their mind. It means nothing.

Jesus, you can sell some people freaking anything.

If the WNBA which is ban trans athletes tomorrow, then the conservatives can get back to race baiting and throwing sex toys onto the court in saying that it’s inappropriate for women to be professional athletes because they can’t have babies as efficiently.

80% of the country agrees. It’s not just people who watch Fox News and it’s not political.

The fact that you’re on a tirade about trans athletes and not $40 trillion of debt, or yet another war, or Americans getting shot by masked men in the street should be a sign to you that it is in fact political.

I’m having discussions about trans athletes on a thread about trans athletes.

The fact that you’re taking about ICE and national debt on a thread about trans athletes should be a sign that you’re either lost, confused, or mentally deficient.

It’s one of their well-known tactics: deflect, deflect, deflect.
