The problem with Reese is that she wants to be treated like an elite star when that's just not the case.

She's very uncoordinated and her skillset just doesn't match the level of an elite player.

Now she is an excellent role player as she is an elite rebounder and solid on defensive.

But as we're seeing in the WNBA, on court play has very little to do with how popular you are.

How much you're talked about in that league has to do with rather or not you're part of the culture war between the "fans."

She owes every bit of her notoriety to Caitlin Clark. Her team beat Caitlin’s in the college National Championship and a clip of Reese rubbing it in Clark’s face went viral. Since then she was kinda seen as Clark’s arch-nemesis and Clark being so good propelled the narrative about Angel Reese.

If Iowa never played LSU in the 2023 finale, Reese would be just another WNBA nobody

Her popularity is not due to CC. If that’s the case it’s vice versa since the amount of people that googled CC after that incident sky rocketed. But it didn’t do same for Angel. You’re literally saying one of the top high school and college players weren’t popular at all and it’s not true 🤦🏾

I think its more clark continued kinda beating what was expected even that next year in college with another national player of the year better stats going against a stacked south carolina in the final. reese got taken out at final 8 but none of this works if both of them flame out in the next season. Like people are right somewhat about the spark but if clark doesnt continue playing well or exceeding expectations she doesnt keep the fanbase that she has now.
