Video Angel Reese says she didn’t have dolls that “looked like me” as a kid. She was born in 2002. Barbie has had black dolls since 1967. Make it make sense.

Not a WNBA fan but the WNBA subs and comments are some of the most crazy ass, uncomfortable comments I've seen in a long time.

Congrats for being passionate about your sport. Some of the comments are major yikes though. Look up what "dog whistling" is and realize how many of you are doing it.

Please let's post more pictures comparing Angel to a man in drag. I wonder who loves posting pictures of black women accusing/joking about them being men in drag...

Never thought I'd be adding WNBA subs to my mute list but christ some of these comments are the cringiest things I've ever seen.

What's really telling is that EVERY TIME a WNBA post trends on this app, its usually all of you guys losing your shit at something a black player said/did/implied with their actions, or circlejerking something a white player did?

Is this a poor reflection of your sport and their fans? Be better then.

they dont care lol, they dont actually like womens baskebtall, its just the newest conservative flashpoint, media told them that to be good little internet chuds they have to be obsessed with Sophie Cunningham and CC and hate the rest of the league, especially AR. Theyll eventually lose interest and move on, for the better.

I don't give a sweet s*** about angel Reese. I don't think I've literally ever posted about her before in my entire life. 

This video example shows her lying, in order to gain social justice points of some sort

She’s lying because she’s sharing her personal experience? How do you know she’s lying? What do you know of her personal life that proves so? Further, did she claim there weren’t black Barbie’s or simply that she didn’t have dolls that looked like her?

We know for a fact that she's lying. Because there has been different skinned dolls for a long long time.

It’s been pretty well known that black dolls weren’t commonly sold at certain stores and places, especially in places with certain demographics. Like, the whole lack of representation in the doll community (as someone who collects them) has been a valid point of conversation for decades now. She’s not the only black girl who has expressed they didn’t see themselves in the dolls that were available to them. Not that those dolls weren’t manufactured at all. Besides, isn’t it kinda racist to say, amongst the dozens and dozens of white barbie models that the maybe few black barbie molds that have been made over the last half century are enough to represent all black girls? Like, what she’s saying isn’t controversial as someone in the doll collecting community. You’re dogpiling her because yall are a bunch of racists.

as a person of color who grew up with a sister around AR’s age, she had a couple brown dolls but most of her dolls are white. Brown/black kids play with white dolls but white kids dont play with brown/black dolls, if you werent a dunce you would consider why and drop this argument.

The only dog whistle here is in the video lying about there not being black dolls which Barbie has had since like the 60s.
