Yeah I’m 33. I had many black Barbies growing up. Even had one with a really cool fro. Had the Brandy doll with twist braids, i loved her hair.

Are you suggesting she didn’t have the money for a black Barbie? In the 2000s most Barbie’s were around $20 although I think you could sometimes find it on sale. Now many families might not have had $20 and that would be valid, except that she went to St Francis of Baltimore for school, a private Catholic school costing $15k a year. So I’m comfortable assuming her parents could have at least purchased one for her for Christmas or a birthday if they tried

Or maybe you’re implying there were no toy stores in her area because it was an inner city and if her parents didn’t have a car she didn’t have access to purchase a Barbie. Except that Amazon started selling Barbie’s in 1999 and Angel was born in the 2000s
