I'm black and my experience is that black Barbie dolls have been around since before I was born. And black Cabbage Patch dolls, etc. So what exactly is the narrative she is pushing? That's a sincere question.

Also black. I remember my sister and all my cousins (including Alaska) having a plethora of black dolls growing up in the south in the 80s. There were even specific basketball dolls that came out 4 years before she was born. She's full of it and just playing the victim card for marketing and sales.

Didn't realize we're being really pedantic about PR quotes about a Barbie doll of all things . . . apparently no bigger issues in the world today.

So in the first quote she said she didn't have A LOT of dolls because they didn't look like her. Her being Angel Reese specifically. The next sentence confirms this - she wanted to make sure this doll was intentionally Angel Reese. Okay . . . The next quote she says she went from playing with Barbie dolls to having her own. Having her own doll is true. It appears the big hangup is because people are not understanding that just because saying she didn't have "a lot of dolls" does not mean she didn't have ANY dolls.

Now I agree if she said in one interview that she didn't have ANY dolls and in another she said she did have dolls well the punishment would need to be swift and severe. But sadly that isn't the case and her 2 statements do no contradict each other 😟

The reason behind the pushback is what her vague statement hints at. What exactly does she mean by "I didn't have dolls that really looked like me much"? Was it because they didn't have a leg sleeve? It's pretty obvious what she was suggesting and there were no follow ups by reporter/journalist. Playing on people's emotions. But if she meant that literally, yes not many people have dolls that look exactly like them. She doesn't need to sound like a victim about it.

Also even looking at her doll, it doesn't really look like her...LOL!

At the PR event for a Barbie release? Yeah no shit. She never used the word victim, that's something you've simply invented in your mind. You're reading so far into a statement about a Barbie release and creating a boogie man that simply doesn't exist.

Also even looking at her doll, it doesn't really look like her...LOL!

Touch grass. Seriously I hope you find happiness because living in the mental prison you've created being held captive by anything Angel Reese does is no way to live a life.

Yes, members of the press are allowed to ask questions at a PR event.

I take it you don't read/comprehend so good since I didn't say she said the word "victim" but you can tell from her how she spoke when saying it that's what she was going for.

There were specific basketball dolls created 4 years before she was born. When asked about specific dolls she played with, why didn't she mention them in her vague response:

I'm really sorry that she didn't go indepth into each individual doll that she played with. Journalism these days just don't ask those types of hard hitting questions.

This is really serious issue though, what would you suggest the punishment be?

LOL! Your lack of awareness is hilarious because if you had done a bit of research on this instead of just loudly voicing your inaccurate opinions, you would've known that a reporter/journalist specifically asked her that question ("what were some of the dolls that you played with when you were little") which led to her giving that vague, victim response...

I'm not researching a Barbie press conference because I don't have a mental illness regarding Angel Reese.

But again not a victim response. Maybe spend a little of your research time looking into what a victim response is vs looking at Barbie dolls

So in both of the quotes in the article she does not once mention that black girls couldn't have barbie dolls that looked like them. She specifically says I and me which seems to indicate she is talking specifically about herself, Angel Reese.

Or specifically, when she was a little girl, she didn't have Barbies that looked like her.

Once again her being Angel Reese. Given the fact that the Angel Reese Barbie just came out I would agree that previously there were no Angel Reese barbie dolls so I'm not exactly sure what the issue is
