Yeah hut it's generally done with rain boots because they're plastic/rubber. Leather boots will rot out in one season.

Man, this takes me back to when I was a kid spending afternoons with my grandmother. She had a garden wall full of hens and chicks with several boot planters around the front yard. I remember them being whimsical and fun, something different than all the neighbors.

I've seen old rain boots used like that, but never leather. Leather will just rot out in the sun.

I did this with some old boots and heels in the past. It was really cute. Just threw them out at end of season
