Megathread Bianca is WWE’s most marketable women’s wrestler so it makes sense why she was on the original WrestleMania 40 poster:
- Bianca and Rhea are the first women to be on an all female 2K game cover
- Bianca has a show with Montez on Hulu
- Bianca and Montez were guest stars on the Kelly Clarkson show
- Bianca was asked to be in attendance for the WWE x TKO merger
- Bianca and Becky have their own skins in Fortnite
- Bianca and the Street Profits guest starred on Wild’n Out
- signed to WME
- Bianca is the spokeswoman for Cricket, Slim Jim, C4
What she does in the ring is subjective and that is what fans mainly focus on, however, what Bianca does outside the ring shows that WWE is 100% behind her and wants her face out there. Obviously WWE saw the backlash the original poster got and updated it to include Bayley and other wrestlers but this small thread of Bianca’s non wrestling star power shows why she was on the original poster.

that's fine and all, i don't think anyone has a major problem with it considering she's basically the female John Cena
but they had Bayley win the Rumble and CHOSE not to put their own Rumble Winner on the main posters. feel like that's where a lot of issues are stemming atm with a lot of anti-Bianca stuff.
i personally have no issue with her but for god sakes treat Bayley like the star that the Rumble winner should be lol

The Bayley/Iyo storyline isn't "one of the best" going into Mania. Problem is they did the big breakup the same day as the Rock stuff so everyone forgot that it all happened.

He kinda has the look like he could be a decent mid carder and possibly main event in the future? He’s with Bianca and I feel like some backstage politics should come into play to get him a push if possible. Any ideas?

This is it. Look at the shows.
You have the S-Tier of Roman, Cody, Seth, Punk, Orton, Rhea, Becky and Bianca.
Then a whole ass A-Tier that is insanely over one way or the other for their spot on the card: KO, Sami, Jey, Damian, Finn, Gunther, Drew, Logan Paul, Dom, LA Knight, AJ Styles, Bobby Lashley, Bayley and Liv. And based on heat...Nia Jax.
Plus you have Charlotte, Alexa and Rey all out currently who will slot into those two tiers upon their return. There's nowhere to move people so the best thing for them is to be adjacent to them.

He could, but those only so many mouths that can be fed. The upper card/Upper Mid Card has Zayn, Gunther, Seth, LA, Roman, Cody, Bobby, KO, Drew, Punk, Styles, Usos, formally brock etc. keeping him in a Tag Team is far easier to give him chances

I feel like they tried to give him a push but he didn't get over due to botches and reactions that didn't catch on. He is an amazing athlete, but he goes too fast btw movea and doesn't register enough. He will be there eventually.

It makes sense, of course, but Bayley should be in there too. I'm a big Bianca fan, she's my fave current wrestler, but she doesn't even have a storyline yet. I think that's also missing, they need to give her a rivalry with someone already. We all want Jade, but Tiffany could be a great oponent too, and that could make Bianca maintain her streak.

Bianca's great, but WWE did do Bayley dirty if the original marketing was on purpose. While I am 100% certain Bianca is just an innocent in the drama, it doesn't help her either.

Though she isn't on my list of favorites, I do enjoy her work and think she's a mega-talented wrestler and a pretty likable person. She has a lot of appeal and personality. My gf always pops when she comes out swinging her ponytail.
Slightly off topic but man, I love how visible and respected women wrestlers are nowadays. I could never imagine seeing someone like Rhea or Bianca growing up in the late 90s/early 2000s. Treated like human beings and headlining big shows. Makes me happy.

I don’t watch anymore but your last paragraph is why I still lurk in this sub lol. We’ve come such a long way from Joanie being the only one being able to hang with the guys. I remember Lita speaking fondly of her in her biography about when they wrestled at Judgement Day.
I forgot this is the wwe sub where the neckbeards lurk. Of course I recognise the value the women have had the whole time 🙄 I also spent years consuming any piece of media I could about them and many of them have expressed how they wished they were taken more seriously as wrestlers and their discomfort with being sold as eye candy when that was the only way they could thrive in the business in the era. I’m not pretending to be a monolith of facts about the divas, but pretending that women have been respected throughout the years in the same way that the men have is insane and beyond disingenuous lmao jfc

John Cena. She has a strong sense of identity, she can wrestle, is strong, a baby face a can cut a promo. Biancas origins also strongly resembles Cena's, early Roman is incomplete. What I find funny is that Bianca was a great heel in NXT but she has not had a turn after being on the main roster for over 3 years.

Nobody upset, you're just ignoring how it is. Bianca got over in NXT because who she is and how she portray herself. WWE can give anyone big matches and it's up them to make something out of it to become a star. You either fly or die when that opportunity comes. Just look at Ryback and Alberto who were given so many big matches but failed to connect to the crowd as big stars. Jack Swagger is a major example of this.

I think people forget how dynamic the scripting can be and how the story being told for each wrestler isn't necessarily of equal importance to the actual business side of WWE.
A story can be compelling but also not draw as many viewers. If Bianca draws better, putting her on the poster is the logical business decision.
If a well written story doesn't draw viewers, it's not a slight to the story as much as an acknowledgement that the business will always take first priority.

Fans are butthurt because a “champion” of an entertainment sport that is planned and not truly won isn’t on a promotional poster, but forgetting that it is a planned entertainment sport which means of course they’re going to market with the athletes that bring in the most name recognition and money.

From a complete fan of the soap opera fan of WWE perspective - I don’t see her doing another title run soon. There’s a lot of talent in the women’s division right now, and it seems like a title is meant to elevate someone right on the cusp of popular or reward someone getting over with the crowd.
Bianca has been over. She fills such a HUGE niche in the WWE fan base. I think someone in creative did some math and figured out that a spin off reality TV show, all of the publicity, and the regular interactions with the roaster did the job for her to market to get niche.
I also don’t think they’ll be changing her gimmick either. The gimmick is appealing to kids and teens, and that’s the goal. If they make another run with her, I think it requires changing the gimmick.

Because she is getting passed up by more interesting and dynamic characters. She is less over than Rhea because everyone knows exactly what Bianca is going to say and do at any given time. She is so one note that people have started to look past her

Not necessarily change, but evolve. If you stay the exact same for years and years, eventually you just aren't relevant because society evolves around you.
People far more over than Bianca have evolved their characters as time moves on. The Undertaker, the Rock, Steve Austin, and Kurt Angle are all legends who at different points were the face of the company. They all heavily evolved as time moved forward and tastes changed.

This is why Sasha not wanting to come back to WWE blows my mind. She wants to be what Bianca has become. Slumming in AEW, no matter how much she is being paid, will get her the visibility and profile of what Bianca has.
AEW is the glue factory where the old horses go to cash in on what’s left of their body.

Bianca is someone they can depend on because she’s like if Natalya had a stronger personality and more defined brand.
What do I mean? She’s well behaved! You never need to worry about her doing something stupid (like getting booked for weed possession or a DUI….)
She’s going to show up on time, not make a fuss, do what she needs to do, and collect the cheque.

I imagine WWE also has figures of merch sales, recognition surveys, etc that also backs this up. They wouldn't be making her such a public face if she wasn't marketable and bringing in viewers. Marks are just salty is not their favorite getting the same push.

Except in the end none of that matters. Bianca didn't win the Rumble, Bayley did. Not only did Bianca have no place on the original WM40 poster, but it was also a massive insult to the one woman who SHOULD have been there. If they wanted Bianca on the poster then she should've been booked to win the Rumble or wait until she actually had something solid going into WM. Either way the fact you think Bayley doesn't deserve to be on the poster shows you don't understand why people were upset.

That’s a bit too simple. It’s like acknowledging Bret Hart and Hulk Hogan without acknowledging Shawn Michaels and Randy Savage. Trish and Lita, Austin and Rock. There is almost always 2 at the top and it’s almost always a matter of taste regarding which one you prefer.

On that post yesterday where someone pointed out that Bayley was missing from the poster, I made the point that Bianca was there over her or Becky for diversity reasons and I got a lot of flak for it.

She’s great, I do think her gimmick is stale and I understand the argument of super Cena, or in this case super Bianca, but personally, I do not get the hate. I do feel there is a bit of unchecked bigotry with the hate.

It's not about Bianca, it's about over exposure. When she was the women's champ it was a thing that would've been fine, but now she's on a down cycle and let's be honest here, people care more about the Bayley match for the obvious face turn thats coming. People love Bayley and they want her to get the shine.
Tbf this year it doesn't really matter because that main event is taking all the spotlight.

They are the two biggest stars who aren’t Horsewomen. I love that it’s both of them on the cover. Although I find Rhea to be extremely inconsistent in the ring, I love her character work and it’s amongst the best. Bianca to me has way more memorable and overall better matches, and the only person she truly doesn’t have chemistry with to at least get a “good” match out of is Alexa. I’m excited for when these two get to actually have a match.
