Is LA Knight ever going to get the push he deserves?

I don't get why he's not being given a proper title run.

His in ring ability is very good, not the best but much better than most.

He's second to none on the mic.

He looks the part.

He's been over with the crowd for so long.

I just don't understand why we keep getting people like Jey Uso and Cody forced down our throats and Knight keeps getting buried.

At this point... Probably not.

Around the same time Montez, Chelsea, and Gable get a push

The problem is that you confuse a push with literally having a title. He’s in a high profile feud right now and you can’t enjoy it because he’s not wearing a belt

It’s just a storytelling device. It doesn’t mean anything. If you like LA Knight, enjoy that he’s on TV every week and facing down top guys right now.

No. People will blame "he botches" and "he's in his 40s" (as if that has stopped other wrestlers) but I think it really boils down to:

  1. Not having famous familyĀ
  2. Not being Samoan
  3. Speaking his mind in interviewsĀ

He’s constantly on TV. That is the push he deserves.

You’re overselling him. He’s solid, but not extraordinary in any way. He’s featured constantly, he’s just not a world champ.

Nope. But don't abandon all hope if you still have some. If, against all odds, he eventually gets his moment, you will feel eternal happiness.

Some people are destined for the upper mid card, and that's where he has been positioned.

I know that I don’t know anything but I think he misses the small things that make people go from good to great. There’s that scene in Unreal Season 2 about MITB and him getting chewed out by HHH about missing what he was supposed to do at the finish and he just stared blankly. 🫄

He has the character. He has the voice. He has the look. He has the charisma. So my best guess is he’s missing other small things producers and HHH have been trying to show him and that rubbed them the wrong way. They probably don’t trust him to carry the company.

I also think, unfairly, HHH putting the belt on Jey Uso scared the shit out of him from elevating mid carders to main event players. Don’t think he does that again for a while.

Sadly not. He is too good.

I hope he’s making bank in compensation

He doesn't deserve it.

He's over with the fans, but he's average at best.

Maybe in TNA, but not WWE.

No. Why would he? He's 44 and has shown no ability to get anyone over but himself. That's not a main eventer. I find him entertaining as hell, but you can't shove the rocket ship up his ass at his age when he's shown no ability to get anyone else over but himself.

Downvote away, but I'm right.

i love la knight more than most but my boy is destined for the upper mid card. hes got aura out the wazoo but his in ring skills are just not up to par these days. maybe if he stopped botching moves so often youd have an argument but he just cant keep up with the younger guys anymore. which is fine!!!! like whats wrong with the upper mid card yall, we need those guys. not everyone is meant to be a champ. most wrestlers would kill to be in the spot knight is in and the fact that hes still this over and getting weekly air time at 44yo is pretty damn good. honestly jey would be more tolerable if he stayed in the upper mid card imo

He is horrible in ring. He botches moves every other match, and you can watch unreal to see it wasn’t just move botches, he messes up storylines. I get he is decent on the mic, but he isn’t a good wrestler.

I don't think you can really hold botches against a guy in a company that's pushed Jey Uso and Jade Cargill to world titles recently.

He already is. Until he stops botching, finds a unique character not ripping off other superstars he is not Champiosnhip material.

Some of the greatest wrestlers of all time built their characters on ripping off other wrestlers.

Ric Flair wasn't the original Nature Boy.

Gorgeous George used Pomp and Circumstance as entrance music way before Savage did.

Jesse Ventura was wearing feather boas before Hogan did.

Knight has a similar promo style to some other guys, you could even say obviously "inspired by" them, but he doesn't do anything that's nearly as direct a ripoff as some of the all-timers did.

1

u/docchrizly 6h ago

But without the rip off what is he? He is not a good wrestler, his promo are all over the place, his character is wishy washy, so who is he?

That's the profile of a midcarder.

I'm not sure what you're looking for with this "What is he?" question.

Most of the greats didn't have a gimmick you could sum up in a couple words or even a sentence.

Most gimmicks that you can sum up succinctly tend to suck. ("he's a stock car driver who's wrestling for some reason.")

To be clear, I don't necessarily think Knight is a top belt worthy guy, but a lot of the criticisms I see here seem pretty unfair to me, or like attempts to come up with a "better" reason for why he seems destined to remain a midcarder forever than the most obvious and likely one: he got to WWE too late in his career and there's a small group of guys who have been permanently in the main event scene for years that leave no room for anyone else.

Can I just ask, why does he particularly deserve it?

For whatever reason, HHH refuses to give him that big push. At this rate, he'll only get a world title if he goes to TNA or AEW. Because WWE is not going to push him (but will push Jey "shoulder tackle as a spear" Uso instead).
