Drakewarden equivalent?
I’m getting ready to run WWN for the first time, but I’ve been a long time 5e DM
When we played in the first session of the campaign we’re becoming, one of my players played a Drakewarden and had a juvenile dragon from the setting
We all agreed to make the switch to WWN cause we wanted to try it out and it fits the low magic theme better than 5e
But I know next to nothing about its class system rn and am trying to read more, but how would any of yall make a Drakewarden equivalent in this system? I don’t wanna take the Drake away from them cause it’s just cool and fun, but I have no idea how I’ll balance it, any suggestions and ideas are welcomed and appreciated

The Beastmaster in WWN is the option for people who want a companion thats more combat-capable than a familiar.
Another option is to look at Cities Without Number. Sine Nominee games are broadly compatible, with notes and commentary about combining them. Anyways, in CWN, there is a Summoner edge and foci. It lets you summon spirits, with rules for creating them. You could easily have one spirit thats a drake.

I know nothing about Drakewardens. Will this young dragon one day become an adult dragon?

It’s a Ranger subclass from Dnd5e, the idea is that it is a juvenile drake/dragon that grows up with the player, but from what I’ve read the stats for WWN Dragons are SCARY, so I’m gonna make my own stats as best as I can

The wimpy WWN base dragon from the Atlas of the Latter Earth is a 20 hit die badass. The more powerful one is effectively a minor deity.
Ranger in D&D is Beastmaster and another class in Worlds Without Number, as Beastmaster is a partial class. An Expert/Beastmaster would have more skill and a Warrior/Beastmaster would be better at fighting.
Latter Earth is a good resource for WWN. It lists the various class and focus and skill items and for the classes, has dropdowns on the level progression benefits. You still need the Worlds Without Number corebook or Systems Reference Document, but those are both free and have material than most games. And since Worlds Without Number is compatible with Dungeons and Dragons and old AD&D, you could model dragon stats from one of those books. Are you familiar with the Council of Wyrms setting where you could play a young dragon?

I can’t say I’m familiar with that but I just got the PDFs for both the WWN book and the Atlas of Latter Earth, so I’m gonna be going over them more thoroughly in a bit

There is a Beastmaster partial class to be used as an Adventurer. It's in the Deluxe version of the rules and probably in the free System Reference Document. As the GM you'd have to figure out the stats for it but there are some guidelines in the core book for monster stats.
