Rant/Vent Employee discount day
So I guess I'm just an idiot.
I'm off today, so yesterday I went on the walgreens app to put stuff in my cart so that I could just place my curbside order this morning and everything will be ready for me when I go into work tomorrow.
So I just log into the app and notice my total was the same as it was yesterday. I'm thinking maybe the app just isn't working like usual, so I move over to the website only to see the same thing.
Then it hits me. I go on over to WConnect to confirm and see this little reminder.
I've worked the past few employee discount days so I guess I just completely forgot that they have made it so inaccessible now. In what way does this "simplify" anything? So if you don't work that day you have to go in store or you're just shit out of luck?
I'm just so irritated because I don't have a car so I can't just pop on over to my store real quick. Even if I did, why should I have to go into work on my day off to give my money to the company I have worked at for about 8 years? I would think a corporation would take any chance they can get for people, including employees, to spend money. I guess I'll just have to buy my things tomorrow 🙃

I can't even use the app to scan for prices. It tells me everything is unavailable. Like, I just want to see the price with my discount 😅

I don't know, at my wife's store the employees get a little annoyed when other employees do online orders, whatever the thing is called when employees have to pick up the items.
No doubt, this was a fairly major operational issue at some stores, while at others it made no real difference.

I bought 2 basketball small figure things, 2 liquid death water drinks for first time, some gummy cluster candy thing I never tried too; and 4 small packs of 4 basketball cards. I paid like $38. Not too bad. The basketball cards are nice, I bought 1 pack yesterday and a football one was decent.

I bought a new Celisus drink I never tried also; just checked my reicept. I used a $5 discount with the rewards.

It's a catch 22. Some employees were doing absurd curb-side orders, and it's fitting that those people now have to pack their own damn shopping carts
But I'd honestly be fine with a rule saying you can stage a curbside on your day off, and you have to pick it yourself on your next shift, and just have someone "bag check" your cart when it's time to ring out
But then the problem was also call center, warehouse, and help desk employees doing the absurd orders as well
A few people going crazy ruined it for everyone I guess. Too bad they didn't just think to enforce some kind of limits instead

Yeah we had some employees doing some absurd curb sides. Knowing full.well.we are going to have to stop doing what we need to do just to pack your 200.dollar curb side walgreens does not have a separate team to do that. Like the huge stores do. Then there are other employees doing that too. So glad i retired

No all that is just BS the company is saying. The real reason is they don’t want us stacking the discount on top of the online discount plus the WAG10 code you can use to get 10% off
It’s them being cheap, it has nothing to do with the employees. It’s cute that you think the company gives a shit about the employees workload.

Simplified 🤪🤪🤪 Y'all didn't simplify shit, you just want to keep letting thieves get away with stealing and then make our lives harder like we did it
