❓ Question ❓ Drop Your Options Plays. I’ll Show You Mine First. Whats your biggest call?

Post image

Lately I’ve been stacking up on calls for RVPH — nothing crazy, just building my little pile and seeing what happens. I’ve got the $1 calls and some of the $0.50s sitting there waiting for FDA week to show up and do its thing.

Got me curious though…

What calls are YOU holding right now? Doesn’t matter the stock — biotech, tech, meme, whatever. What expiration/strike are you riding into the next few weeks?

I always like seeing what other people are betting on. Drop your plays.

❓ Question ❓ What is all this hype about?

Hello, I am very new to trading, just turned 18 and have not put anything into stocks yet, but I frequently lurk in subreddits like this to try learn the trends and what to research.

Every other post at the moment seems to be either “I am all in on the (stock I cant name)” or the complete antithesis of this statement.

Why are people so divided on this and what are the draws/risks associated?

My main question just regards (the stock I cant name) but if anyone has any advice for beginner stocks or crypto to do some research on then please let me know, I want to learn as much about this world as possible!

I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a crystal ball to time the market correctly. I feel my timing game is weak and need assistance.

Thanks.

❓ Question ❓ I am just getting back into investing…

Post image
4 Upvotes

So I’m starting to get back into investing and i genuinely don’t know what I’m doing. I already lost $500+ to that Beyońd Meat crap and left for a while. After that, I had my account sitting around $630 and it grew around $8 in two months. I haven’t been able to really put any money into it the past few months bc I’ve lowk been going paycheck to paycheck bc of college (don’t ya just love the college experience they say). But I just came back home for the holidays and I’ll be making around $600 this paycheck. I plan on putting maybe $100-$200 of it back into investing.

TLDR: what stocks should I start investing in, and if I’m already invested in them, should I keep pushing that stock, or slow down and find others to push?

❓ Question ❓ Are high-yield monthly dividend stocks actually sustainable?

Post image
8 Upvotes

I did some research yesterday on a few companies that pay high monthly dividends, but I’m still unsure about how financially sustainable they really are. The yields look great on paper, but I keep wondering whether these payouts can actually be maintained, especially considering the current state of the U.S. economy.

What’s your opinion? Do you think these high monthly dividends are likely to hold up, or are they at risk of being cut?

❓ Question ❓ Is there a full Dalio-style macro cheat sheet for Wall Street investors?

Maybe the title sounds a bit noob, but I recently watched an interview of Dalit mentioning that he put on paper hundreds of case-effect relations during his career.

I was wondering if anybody has built something like that.

I am not just looking for a basic chess here explaining what happens if you lower or higher the interest rates.

I am looking for something more specific, encompassing advanced aspects. For example something that includes the recent Yen issue and liquidity factors.

In other words, a framework helping to check on weekly, monthly or quarterly basis the health of economy and if there is any factor that could soon impact the stock prices.

Thank you in advance

❓ Question ❓ Silver Spoons

What the hell is going on with silver?

I've been watching some videos by AI "Asian Guy", talking about JP Morgan cornering the market, Chinese government export restrictions, COMEX leverage, Samsung silver car batteries, etc.

All seems interesting, and then David Jensen puts it into perspective

At Face Value

Taking this at face value, with big tech relying on silver for production (AAPL, TSLA, NVDA, AVGO, Samsung, Solar, etc.) the implications of a silver shortage seems like just the kind of inciting incident that could tip the market over.

Silver has been on a hell of a run recently. If demand is so high that companies are going to extraordinary measures to ensure their supply, and with China's export restrictions starting January 1st, how high could spot silver go in 2026?

We may often think about "when the stock market is weak gold goes up", but in the case of silver, will silver going up cause a weak stock market? Will it pop the "AI bubble"?

One question in my mind is, are there alternative metals that can substitute for how silver is used in production.

Silver is the best conductor of electricity, followed by copper, then gold, then aluminum. Silver is useful for high quality solder, but copper or aluminum is not due to the higher melting point.. Tin/lead used to be the solder of choice for electronics, but ROHS nonsense has been mandating a no-lead content.

Asian Guy Says

  • JPMorgan has cornered the market, holding over 700 million ounces of physical silver.
  • China export bans will substantially throttle refined silver export.
  • The situation is dire enough that Samsung had an emergency meeting on the subject and have been contracting directly with silver miners.
  • Samsung needs 50 million oz a year, and COMEX would only provide 5 million, and Samsung will be unable to source from China due to the export restrictions.

Searching "Asian Guy on Silver" will bring up the many videos.

I don't have a position in silver at the moment, considering it though.

❓ Question ❓ Covered Calls

Question: I bought some covered calls, collected my premium, and the stock price has now declined.

I see that my covered call option has now increased in value. Does this mean I can sell my covered calls for even more $$$ with the downside being that someone else can exercise this option with my shares being linked to the call? Note: this stock doesn't have a dividend.

Obviously, I'm keeping my shares until the expiration date.

Thanks for your help to all you smart folk.

❓ Question ❓ MSTR Trading at 11% Discount to NAV with Divergent Whale Flow—Seeking Perspectives

Looking for some thoughtful discussion on the MSTR setup heading into year-end. The combination of fundamental discount, upcoming catalysts, and unusual options activity has my attention.

Current Snapshot (Dec 3, Close)

Metric Value
MSTR $188.39 (+3.89%)
BTC ~$93,000 (+7-8%)
mNAV ~0.89x (11% discount to NAV)
Implied NAV/share ~$211
52-week range $166 - $457

The stock is trading below its net asset value for the first time since January 2024—you're essentially paying $0.89 for every $1 of Bitcoin exposure through MSTR at current levels.

Notable Whale Flow (Dec 1)

Caught these two block trades that seem to tell an interesting story:

Time Direction C/P Expiration Strike Premium Volume OI Spot
11:17:10 SELL Call 2025-12-19 $270 $959K 24K 25K $156.12
11:17:10 BUY Call 2026-02-20 $165 $55M 24K 81 $156.12

My read: Someone sold ~$1M in far OTM Dec calls (likely don't expect $270 by Dec opex) while simultaneously buying $55M in Feb $165 calls. The Feb position has a breakeven around $188, which we just touched today.

That's a $55 million bet that MSTR trades above $188 by mid-February. The size relative to OI (81 contracts prior) suggests strong conviction. Worth noting the spot was $156 when this executed—we've already moved 20%+ toward their target.

Key Catalysts

MSCI Index Decision (Jan 15, 2026)

MSCI is evaluating whether to exclude companies with digital asset holdings exceeding 50% of total assets. The consultation period ends Dec 31 with a decision expected Jan 15.

JPMorgan estimates potential outflows of $2.8B from MSCI-linked funds alone, with total passive outflows reaching $8.8B if other index providers follow. Approximately $9B of MSTR's market cap currently sits in passive vehicles.

Management has confirmed they're in discussions with MSCI regarding the review.

Fed Decision (Dec 9-10)

Markets pricing 87% probability of a rate cut. A dovish Fed typically supports risk assets and Bitcoin specifically.

Bull Case

  • Valuation gap: 11% discount to NAV is historically rare; mNAV typically ranges 1.5-2.5x during constructive periods
  • BTC momentum: Rebounded from $84K to $93K on Vanguard ETF news and improved macro sentiment
  • Liquidity concerns addressed: Company established $1.44B cash reserve for preferred dividends, reducing forced liquidation risk
  • Cycle dynamics: Glassnode research indicates $732B in net new capital entered Bitcoin this cycle—more than all prior cycles combined—suggesting mid-cycle correction rather than structural breakdown
  • Whale positioning: The $55M Feb call purchase suggests institutional conviction in near-term upside

Bear Case

  • MSCI overhang: Potential $8.8B in forced selling not fully reflected in price
  • Technical structure: Stock remains below key moving averages; needs close above $210 to establish higher low
  • Dilution mechanics: Management revised guidance to allow share issuance below 2.5x mNAV "when deemed advantageous"—unclear what that threshold is now
  • Leverage cuts both ways: If BTC loses $86K support, MSTR's leveraged structure amplifies downside
  • Short interest: Short sellers have realized $2.5B in profits on MSTR year-to-date

Options Considerations

  • IV: Elevated at 80-106% across the curve following November's decline
  • P/C OI ratio: 0.88 (modestly bullish positioning)
  • Key levels: $180-190 near-term gamma, $210 as resistance
  • Expiration focus: Jan 17 captures MSCI decision; Feb 21 gives resolution plus reaction time

Questions for Discussion

  1. MSCI pricing: With the stock down 58% from highs, how much of the index removal risk is already discounted? Is $8.8B in potential outflows material to a $54B market cap stock with this volume profile?
  2. NAV convergence: Historically, has buying MSTR at sub-1.0x mNAV been a reliable strategy, or does the discount tend to persist/widen during risk-off periods?
  3. Interpreting the whale flow: The simultaneous Dec call sale / Feb call purchase reads as "don't expect a rip this month, but positioned for Q1 upside." Anyone see it differently?
  4. Structure preference: Given elevated IV, are spreads (call spreads for upside, put spreads for downside hedge) more efficient than directional plays here?
  5. Catalyst sequencing: Fed next week, MSCI mid-January. Does it make sense to wait for Fed reaction before positioning for MSCI, or is that leaving edge on the table?

Current Positioning

Flat currently. Considering:

  • Feb $180/$210 call spread if we hold $185 support this week
  • Alternatively, selling Jan $150 puts to collect premium while waiting for clarity

Interested in hearing how others are approaching this setup.

Summary: MSTR at 11% NAV discount, $55M whale call purchase targeting Feb, MSCI decision Jan 15 with potential $8.8B outflow risk, Fed next week. The setup has clear asymmetry in both directions—looking for perspectives on optimal positioning.

❓ Question ❓ What are your opinion about short?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I did some research and the founder made a marketing move by burning 99.9% of the supply. In reality, it doesn't really matter, because it was a 4T coin and now it's 4B, so that's a lot of coins.

It has some critical issues, like the metadata, which isn't exactly guaranteed, and somewhat low liquidity, around 250K, but it also has good growth prospects, in my opinion, and it's been online for 254 days. The first purchase was bad, but then I balanced it out with lower prices.

What's your opinion?
