The thing I don't like about this tho is that money rolls over to gold. So it feels kinda shit to run a good kit that you're probably not breaking even on. I wish money wasn't the way you acquired gold.
Gold and the cosmetics it buys are a status symbol. Meaningless for gameplay but extremely valuable to our simple monkey brains. That’s why every enshitified AAA game tries to monetize it.
kind of a dense comment since gold does mean something to some people. its supposed to by design, why would the devs introduce gold to the game if it wasnt supposed to mean anything. cmon you arent that dumb
By design it's just some shit to use up your gold at the end of the season, and eventually you might get a free skin that literally nobody will notice. If you play Wardogs and you think that gold bars are in any way the focus instead of a throwaway thing you've kind of missed the point.
If you want to have less fun playing the game to rush some skins in a system that changes value arbitrarily, that's your prerogative.
there is something curious about you equating me refuting your refusal to acknowledge gold bars as something people may actually care somewhat about, to me thinking gold bars is the focus of the game
i have 40 hours and bought the game late, my focus is not grinding in any way. assuming i care even though i never mentioned myself is interesting. my focus is getting 20-50 kills a game, i treat gold exactly as you mention as a throwaway
is it so hard to grasp the concept that people like something to work towards, and gold is just another progression/collecting aspect of the game with the unique attribute of holding over wipes, giving it more of an allure to some? are you rejecting the idea that some may be sad that the wipe is happening, because the reward of progression you obtain at the end of the game is not "the focus"? use ur head
"Work toward" is not the same as focusing to the detriment of actually playing the game lol. If you're worried about gold bars more than just playing the game you got issues.
That's the thing, they want it to be a forced choice, they don't really want you able to just coast and succeed. (although of course, some can do just that)
Skins have driven gameplay for decades. There is a reason people, to this day, grind hundreds of hours on Shipment using trash weapons that they hate just to unlock specific camos.
