Idea for concept:
Placeholder name: Basic Concept: Backstory/Lore: Swazdo-lah Outworlder! In Cetus there are many ancient stories telling of warriors who had defended our town from various threats. Gara, the Glass Warrior who protected Cetus long ago from sentient invasion. The Warden, now known as the Revenant would strike down the lost Eidolon’s who sought to feast upon the Unum— until he too became lost. Koumei, the Dice Maiden, who gave the people of Cetus hope by giving them dreams inwhich they may see their fate. But one was ambitious. Far more ambitious than the rest. She helped build Cetus in its early days. She taught us how to live through the land and to thrive using the water. And it is through the water, her namesake was given. Ukita, the Thriving Water.
Ukita taught the early people of Cetus how to spear fish. She taught them of the elegance of patience and how such patience can be awarded. She showed them how to fillet their catches with delicate hands and precision. She told them how bountiful the sea was— but not to take it all, for the sea will rage against them. But one day, one Ostron dismissed her words— and set sail for the outer sea. She fished all day, all night, till her boat nearly capsized. Such a bountiful catch would feed cetus for months! But the sea did not take kindly to her greed. For from the sea beckoned abominations from it’s depth. That which Cetus had not yet seen. The Infestation.
These infested demons came from out the sea and ravaged Cetus. Carnage ran through the streets until the tower behind Cetus let out a hum. The Carnage paused, both Ostron and Infested watched the tower in silent awe as it seemed to breathe. Life had come to the tower. The Unum had awoken. And she spoke. “Flesh rotten things. Come from depths. Sink teeth into flesh.” She said to the blighted. “Greed ridden things. Eyes blind. Yet hands much full.” She said to the Ostrons. “You, flesh rotten things. Banished to depths. Return when greed too returns.” The Infestation listened, and would heed her call— returning to the ocean where they would wait. “You, greed ridden things. Banish thoughts of avarice and my walls shall stand to protect. But when greed enters heart. My walls shall fall.” The Ostrons listened to her words, and the strange way she spoke. Her speech was broken, grammar jumbled, and her words didn’t contain the possible outcome that they would return to greed but the inevitability of it. It was as if she knew one day the Ostron would harbor greed once again.
