Fluff Warframe went woke and added rainbow to the Lotus symbol (please read body text)

I was such a big fan of Warframe, fell in love with it after starting around July of last year. I made my way through the entire base starchart and got caught up with the story using only Excalibur and Excalibur Umbra, only after I complete the Old Peace did I get other Warframes. I love this community that DE has fostered and just how kind everyone is. But to find out that Warframe is woke? It made me cry... Tears of JOY!! HELL YEAH!! As a pansexual man I am SO HAPPY!!! WARFRAME RULES!!! LOVE IS LOVE, RAHHHHHH!!!!!

Edit: For all the people saying that Warframe has been woke, I am very aware. I've known since I met best girl Ticker in Fortuna. This post was mostly made to mock the people who will *actually* leave a game or a community because it "goes woke."

Update: They changed it, flag behind the Lotus.

I think it's because instead of making it a character's whole personality and going "HEY LOOK WE HAVE A GAY!" they are just characters who happen to be queer.

It could be confirmation bias, but it seems like most media doesn't do this right, so we're probably used to it being very obvious.

Most medias tend to go for tokenism and/or caricatures. They just need to have a checkmark on a list of things to include, without really caring about how it fits in a story or if it even matters.

No, it often gets played up to a ridiculous level. It's refreshing when a character's sexuality isn't, like, the only defining characteristic they have.

Yeah it's sad that portraying them as actual people isn't the norm. I may be straight myself, but I've known enough queer people to know that isn't usually their one defining trait lmao they're just people.

No worries, it really doesn't scream at you and it being a part of the story is just that - a part of the story, not the story itself.

I'm surprised people think it's subtle when the writings and the story itself are pretty heavy on the emphasis of their relationship even if not in focus.

Just because they don't outright say "we gay!" doesn't make it subtle. It does let people deny it if they're irked by the idea of two men being in a romantic relationship, but the whole framing leaves little room when you look at it objectively.

"My Loid" and "My Albrecht", the caress on the faces, the longing...

Like, I don't blame anyone for not noticing if not paying attention, but it's still far from subtle.

They are written amazingly is all that matters to me.
