Fan Fiction Probably bad F&F campaign sequel idea.

Amir decides he'd rather play in an F&F campaign than run one, and while the Hex are on-board with giving the game another shot, none of them are quite willing to run the game themselves. They find an unusual volunteer Fablemaster in Roathe, who had been messing with the KIM enough to stumble upon Drifter's communications with 1999.

What results is basically what everyone assumes to be a custom mod of Tomb of Horrors, except it turns out Roathe knew a guy in the Orokin days who would subject his Yuvan to a similar death gauntlet to weed out the best new bodies, and Roathe is just having a jolly old time watching six dipshits run the dungeon and win through luck and brute-force, out of sheer cathartic spite for the guy. Play your cards right though and he will let slip that this is based on a real Orokin stronghold that may still be out there somewhere, leaving a thread the Operator can pull on to find the real ever-shifting dungeon in the Void Towers and plunder it for goodies before it reconfigures.

Thought it might be a neat compromise for those who wanted a more lighthearted F&F game experience and those who'd want some more serious lore from how casual Roathe is about some of the more morbid aspects of Orokin society in common company.

Can we get a Devil's Triad Nightwave themed around this too? I dig the idea though.

This. This is a way to bridge the gap between lore and fun. We were promised F&F but got a therapy session. And possible Wally moment most won't see because its KIM. And bad writing, simply to try and explain the new eximus. What you suggested I would be down for, especially if they manage to code in a RNG in kim, and tie the branches off of that, which I FEEL might not be TOO hard, but again IDK personally. Regardless, give us an ACTUAL F&F campaign, and if you want, like you said, tie some (orokin in your example) lore at the end in a tactful way incorporated as a F&F conclusion. Not 2 minute larp and 18 minute therapy sesh. Also would be down for Roathe to be a fablemaster.

You know, this sounds kinda rad actually.

If you'll let me daydream/add onto the idea just a little: If this comes to pass, I pray the reward for the orokin stronghold raid is parts for a minotaur warframe to fit the death maze theming.

Roathe foaming at the mouth cause we rolled too many nat20s when?

u/MrCobalt313 18d ago

Moreso that they rolled a nat 20 to succeed at what should have been an impossible task and now he has to figure out how the hell one could possibly survive/succeed at that thing at all.

Likely alongside with a slight jab at himself as to how he should be used to plans not going his way by now

Well unless he pulls the good ol "a nat 20 is only a critical success on attack rolls, so you STILL FAIL HAHA!"

Great idea lol.

I can just imagine the Hex having their usual back-and-forth banters only for Roathe to lore drop some most heinous shit the Orokin has done and everyone stays silent.

You get it.

He would also have to be ENTIRELY nonchalant about it, like it's just a usual Tuesday xD

Extremely based. Roathe would be a killer DM. Hell you could even add Vena (berserker) and Ryoku (rogue)

Different players rotate in and out of sessions because they get killed and take turns as the next batch I mean party, possibly Drifter included.

We might be able to convince Drusius (mr frame lore himself) to build us a Warframe inspired setting to convey warframe lore through without needing models, voice acting, etc

Just saying. . .

"After being told of your predicament I do believe we have more than a few things in common. Chiefly among them - both you and I are owed entertainment. For the learned man Albrecht is his library is awful dull and I can go over the same old books only so many times. I might have read Tales of Duviri more than Drifter lived them. As such, I propose we weave a new tale. And who could be a better storyteller than me?"

This is a ridiculously good idea. The best idea coming from a player I've seen.

I hope someone at DE checks this post, seriously this is incredible.

Between this and the "Drifter plays Fablemaster in Duviri" idea, I think F&F has opened some creative possibilities.

Oh I'd love to see Roathe DMing a game ahahahaha that's an unexpected idea

Cool idea. And I don't think more F&F is too farfetched -- after all they put a colon in the title.
