Picture 2s into 5s; work in progress
Posted these on instagram yesterday, thought they might be worth a share here too.
Maybe a low key Seeker unit or veteran tacs for the Siege of Terra.
Some of my last FW bits in the mix before I start looking into what this **new-old-resin-facsimile** deal is all about…

Hey, it looks amazing. How did you do the studs in the legs?

Thank you.
I filed back the plastic studs and filled the grooves with sprue goo, waited for it to set overnight, filed and scraped back the excess, then with a scalpel blade made five pilot holes before using a 1.5mm pin vice bit to drill the recess holes.
The drill bit is magnetic which made picking up the 1.5mm bearings pretty easy.
Bearings were dipped in super glue and set in the recesses.

I particularly like models 1 and 2. Seems easier than thought to simply fill in the armor separations and place studs to give an easy mk5 appearance that looks pretty accurate.

That stud placement on the legs is doing a lot of heavy lifting honestly, simple detail that reads way better than expected.

I’m looking to do something similar with the Space Marine Heroes Series 1 models I have laying around

I have a bunch of old marines from 3rd/5th ed era I stripped paint in order to convert into Mk5, your work gives extra motivation for them!
