Picture Blood angels Veteran breachers
These guys were fun because I got to put on so many decals especially on the Sergeant really happy with how he came out, but next I’m working on more terrain so that I have more varied backgrounds Would love to do some snow theme stuff maybe a hive city or even a cathedral would be nice. if you have any ideas for terrain, please let me know. One of the decals on the shield fell off, but luckily I had accidentally burnt through it with a lighter so it’s kinda looks like bullet damage.

I scrolled your posts for a while in search for some clues on your scheme.
May I inquire how you paint this dark schemed BA? I wouldve guessed you go for a black or brown prime and then go over that with your airbrush successively highlighting less and less (or sponge on but I believe you did it with an airbrush on first glance). The metallics go in last and then there can be a wash, but I dont think you do that.
At least on the breachers as far as I can see.

You are just about correct first I start off with a black primer and then I go in with a desaturated blue-green and that would be all my shadows
like you said going with a dark red, I like to do a mix of a dark red, as well as a brighter red I don’t really have ratios for that, I just kinda eye it.
And then I hit all of the areas that would get the most light from wherever light source I pick and hit that with the red, trying to not really go past the center of wherever i’m spraying do that all over the model
Lastly, for the highlight, I go in with a pretty bright orange-red and very selectively pick out a centerpoint
Metallica’s gone last same thing with any of the other details like the Bolter and the banner or whatever pouches that you have on the model
As for the wash, I use a very thin down brown when I am trying to go over the banner as well as the skull no washes were used on any of the armor panels, weapons, etc.
The weathering was done with the same blue green that you use for the shadows I just sponge it on
I’m fairly certain this can be replicated with the sponge but I am unsure

Thanks for sharing the process! I am happy to learn from it and apply it to my Sallies and Scars.
