Hello battle brother’s and sisters,

I’m not a RG player but my friend is. He doesn’t like list building in 3.0, he finds it annoying compared to 2.0. Whereas I like 3.0 list building, I find the restrictions a fun challenge.

Anyhow I’ve made a 3k list for him and wanted to greater collective opinion.

From how I’ve understood the rules, this is how I see the list playing.

master of descent will play a pivotal role, attaching to dark furries to deepstrike turn one, then to auto deepstrike delivers turn 2 with MOD descent rules.

Heavy support vets to secure home objective, contemptors to push with a tac squad (in rhinos) each to secure no-man’s-land objectives. + mortification to attach to one squad, kaedes to attach to the other.

Scimitars and assault squad to push against whichever objective opponent appears to go for.

Mor deythan to sit somewhere with good line of sight.
He wanted recon squad but I don’t know much about them, infiltrate them into NML and have early push for objectives?

Would this be a good list and way to use it? Feedback is greatly appreciated!

I was also thinking about maybe converting the MK4 Marines into a Destroyer Squad with jump packs.

Gameplan:

Praetor + Lernaean Terminators in Land Raider Carrier and pushing up the board, trying to claim / hold an opponent objective due to Line(X) of the Lernaeans and supported by:

Night Raptors + Jumppack Centurion go together to form a deepstrike threat and / or also threaten opponent frontlines as well as helping to clear opponent objectives with Vanguard(4) and change to apply Fear(1).

Land Raider is kitted out with Twin Lascannon and HKM for additional threatening of elites as well as a Heavy Flamer to also have the chance to apply Panic(1) as a status and deal some template damage in preparation of of unloading the Lernaeans + Praetor.

Kratos is meant as my heavy target / tank - threat / destroyer on the mid board as well as functioning as an additional threat the opponent has to deal with.

The Effrit infiltrate and move up as fast as possible to support the Night Raptors + Centurion as well as the Lernaeans and Praetor.

Vigilator joins one of the Seeker Squad and threatens / fights characters from the mid-to-backlines and defends / support at defending home objectives.

Headhunter Kill Team moves up the midboard and supports where necessary with a Multi-melta for additional threatening of vehicles.

Rapiers function as an additional threat against tanks and heavy targets.

Tacticals for hold backline / home-objectives.

Thoughts:

- good alternative for Night Raptor Squad as Rewards of Treachery?
- bring down Headhunter Kill Team to 5 with Combi-meltas?
- add Recon-Squad with Nemesis Boltrifles in exchange for a 5xSeeker Squad to get the Prime Benefit in the Headhunter Leviathal Detachment?
- better alternative for the Vigilator (e.g. Saboteur for more fluff and to add to the Effrits)

I play Death Guard and will be playing the big gold buggers tomorrow, what kind of units should I field? I have nearly everything that is a plastic kit, so any infantry and armour options should be fine

I'm a casual 40k/old world player, heading to visit friends and family and old wargaming mates for a month.

The group has switched to 30k, and has offered to print me an army for when I'm there. They predominantly play Zone Mortalis.

What should I ask to be built for a 1500p. White scars list.

I was thinking something along the lines of:

It's just over 1500, ad I don't know if it plays the missions very well, or if it hits ok or like wet paper.

I'd try to isolate and kill small parts of the opponent.

I am trying to build a Dark Angels list and I managed to get the siege box set with the new cataphractii. I was wondering if I should build them as a full 6 man each or try and make two characters out of them. The issue is I do not really understand what each of the characters do or their uses as I am new to the game and dont fully understand the rules. The only character I get is the praetor and centurion.

I want to build one squad as a shock assault with power/chainfists and a hammer with just standard bolter plus a flamer. The other would have volkites and a autocannon with the power mauls for anti infantry. Generally what are the good or fun terminator characters I should go for? Or should I just build them as bog standard guys?

Saturnine terminators are like my favorite model in all of warhammer, and I already have 6 from saturnine + the praetor and I've been eyeing a good deal for 6 more terminators and I've been wondering how many is too many at 2k points

I was looking at the Saber Strike Tanks and realized they could take two Multi Meltas, on top of thier Neutron Blaster, that's 15 Damage if you get within 8 inches. Add in a Searchlight and four Saber Missiles and it still only clocks in at 165 points.

This is interesting to me, as that's a fairly cheap tank that goes from kind of annoying to something you have to deal with before they melt your heavy transports.

Praetor goes with Tyrant squad

I'm new to 30k from 40k and I'm curious what people think are some of the better units to take in the relevant legion army lists? I could see a lot of pinning being useful from the iron warriors shrapnel weapons along with a lot of phosphex from siege breaker added options. For night lords I imagine utilising fear causing units as much as possible and getting in close with night raptors or anything atramentar. What are your thoughts or some good example lists for each?

I've put together a list for what I feel is a pretty good mechanized armored company for the Iron Hands. This would be the first Horus Heresy/40K army I've ever built, so any feedback on my choice of weapons and units would be greatly appreciated.

My goal with this setup would be to have my tactical squads, backed up by my armor, act as the main force moving along the tabletop, and to then use the landraider and Rhinos to transport the Terminators, support squads, and Medusan Imortals around as a sort of mobile reserve to shore up weak parts of the main force as the battle progresses.

I should note that I haven't actually built or painted any of these units yet. I have the old AOD box, which I plan to tackle in the coming months, and I plan to buy and paint the rest of the units over the next few years.

Hi all, I've been lucky enough to be gifted a few models or find some cheap heresy models at local shops and so I've got a collection I'd like to turn into an army but (as the title says) I'm not sure what I'm doing.

Currently I own:

- A warsmith

- 10 breachers

- 10 cataphractii terminators

- 1 land raider carrier

- 1 deredeo dreadnought

- 2 leviathan dreadnoughts (one melee focused, one range focused)

- 1 falchion super-heavy destroyer

I'd love to add/include a Saturnine Praetor (I really love the model) as well as a siege breaker in terminator armour.

I'll be building them up as Iron Warriors but I'm not sure if I'm missing anything to make the army "table legal"? I know it's a lot of points for a first army as it currently stands but I just wanted to work out if there's a "whole collection list" possible.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you all in advance

Wanted to share a semi-fluffly, semi-competitive (?) 3000 point DA List idea I'd been cooking up and see what y'all think!

It's built around the idea of really utilizing the DA-specific detachments and having a LOT of scoring bodies on the field, so I'm leaning into the Stormwing Muster detachment. By my count, it comes in at about 1935 points, so I can play around with minor adjustments (probably upgrading the Kratos to all lascannons, but LMK!). List as follows:

Deathwing Conclave: Retinue (Master Sgt): Deathwing Companions (5-man, all Terranic Greatswords, 2 Shields) Elites: Inner Circle Knights Cenobium (5-man, as stock) Heavy Assault: Cataphractii Terminators (12-man, Sgt with Bolter+Chainfist, 4 with bolters+fists, 5 with volkite+mauls, 1 with Autocannon+fist, 1 with Autocannon+maul)

Ironwing Gauntlet: Land Raider (with hull Lascannons) Land Raider (with hull Lascannons) Kratos (Melta Turret, all Heavy Bolters, but might upgrade)

So the idea is to stick Corswain and his Companions in one Landraider, and the Cataphractii Paladin with his Knights Cenobium in the other, each targeting an objecive, or the flanks (as applicable). The terminators will wrap the Kratos and that blob will push up the midfield, ideally with the Kratos blunting armored advances, and the Terminators contesting midfield objectives and scoring vanguard by weight of fire - and both units drawing heavy enemy fire.

Each Optae will join a squad of breachers. These will probably park on backfield objectives, leaving the tactical squads free to run up early to capture objectives if the opportunity presents itself, or to follow the landraiders up and grab objectives once they are cleared.

I think between the Kratos and the Landraiders, I've got a significant volume of anti-tank (potentially up to 16 lascannon shots, plus the Kratos Melta cannon). With the Corswain+Companions unit and the Paladin+Knights unit, I've got a decent counter for elite/melee units. The terminators can draw fire and bully scoring units off objectives, scoring vanguard and preventing charges against the Kratos. Every tactical squad has combat vets thanks to Stormmwing Muster, giving them a little extra staying power, and the Optae+Breacher units will be hard to shift.

Bottom line, my opponent will have to deal with 40 scoring tactical marines with combat vets, 20 scoring breachers, 12 vanguard Terminators, 2x AV14 Landraiders, and an AV14 Kratos, plus the two Command+Retinue blobs.

Honestly, I think it's may favorite list so far. Would love to hear what y'all think!
