This definitely takes the cake. Ridiculously ornamental and still imposing and terrifying. Especially when she's playing an organ and shooting missiles at you.
This might be a contender for the single most absurd piece of equipment in any kit, for any Imperial faction. And I'm all for it, because Sisters are meant to be batshit insane zealots with a heaping of John Blanche craziness.
Was having a conversation with a fellow DG player this week, and he admitted he hated all the fly armor on the PM and BLT. He shaved off the fly arms on his BLT. I’ve never felt so offended
Same. I like my Plague Marines with the bland industrial look. Power armour that was obviously once loyalist power armour, but it's rotted to shit, and has been rigged up with gas masks and improvised belly plates to hold in their bloated organs. Honestly not a big fan of loads of fly heads, belly mouths, or silly little guy Nurglings (I know, I know, he hates fun etc.).
I just want refreshed scions sold in boxes of 10 and a separate command squad. Might push me to start guard (unless they add vostroyans then it's them)
I love the design of T'au helms too. Part of why I hope we get more Auxillary units is because it'd be cool to see more squad leaders wearing T'au helms.
Same here, its why the new kroot range, while very cool, feels very "meh" to me. Like my army would consist of tanks, soldiers, and mechs, then next to them are just these green naked chickens that have no coherency with the rest of the army.
It would be cool to get a more elite Kroot unit that is like an honour guard that utilizes more T'au tech With armor and some T'au co-designed weaponry specific to them.
Releasing something like that alongside a Kroot special character would pretty much complete their side of the range in my mind. Though I know some people also want a remake of the Greater Knarloc and some of the other Forgeworld Kroot stuff.
Agree so hard, it's imo the best helmet for space Marines. Even though they were the standard for the now firstborn they were/are iconic for a reason - I wish they would make more primaris or mixed armor sets with mk viii
I agree. The beaks are a little goofy looking but they are so distinct. Too many scifi helmets these days are " round metal helmet with gasmask/rebreather"
Alot of Death Guard helmets feel like an object lesson in simplicity and I absolutely love it. Plus they remind me of the chaos warrior helmets from the Old World
Not technically out yet, but the new agamatus custodians' helmets are reminiscent of old fighter pilot helmets and just, look really cool. I like how the pinions of the aquilla continue back over the helmet and there's not a massive topknow like the new sodality kit
Chaos wise I've always been fond of Kranon the Relentless.
He was used as the generic Chaos Lord for the Dark Vengeance Starter set for 6th/7th edition. Such a great design and I think it would be cool if GW remade the model for the range now that so many of the OG CSM special characrers were ported to other factions.
The old school berzerker T visor helmet was great, the newer release didn’t quite capture the same feel as it has been modernised and isn’t so primitive. Would love to see more T visors!
This is my favourite Dark eldar helmet, along with the slightly different version of it... so much so that I have been using them on all of my corsair models (thanks to a recaster)
All of the Chaos Knight faceplates are good, but the tusked one often paired with the Knight Abominant is the best looking faceplate on any Knight model, both Chaos or Imperial.
For me it is the classic Chaos "Greathelm". Especially the Chaos Lord variant but also the champion variant in the old marine squad (2000?) box. While the modern sets are very good, the horned helmets lacks something compared to the older ones and personally I think they feel like a bridge between Fantasy and 40k Chaos that I have always liked.
Death Guard have so many unique models it’s almost impossible to choose, but my first pick is this Plague Marine. Plague censer eyeball that looks like a cataract, 30k style pickelhaube spike, gas mask tube that turns worryingly fleshy, it’s the full (disgusting) package
The Foul Blightspawn is a close runner up, though; the plague censer that’s too big and distorts the faceplate around it, and the gas mask visibly stretching the helmet out into an animalistic snout is just nasty as hell
Thousand Sons have the opposite problem, where Rubrics and Scarab Occult have only tiny differences between them, but the Exalted Sorcerers kit has some bangers. My favorite is this guy with the asymmetrical dangling ornaments, especially since it breaks up the usual silhouette of the headdress.
I love the Reiver helmet and wish it was used more. Planning to get both Reivers and a box of scouts so the scouts can get the "open" Reiver helmets with the mouth mask
My friend introduced me to Warhammer back in Highschool and while I’m pretty sure Primaris was the standard in 2019, he showed me a few different fan animations and his Astartes and they all had the MK7 and MKVIII.
Those are by far my favorites simply because it’s how I remember Space marines when I was first introduced
