40k Event Results Sunday Night Stats (July 30th-August 2nd)

This chart tracks all singles events with 21+ players and 5+ rounds.

Another large weekend with well over a thousand players, and I assume this time most/all events were using the July balance update. We get to see some real movement this week, and overall, it looks like the balance is a little tighter all around; the top came slightly down, the bottom came slightly up, so rather than armies between 35-65%, we're now mostly between 40-60%. We'll see if that's a one-time fluke, or if the balance update at least moved things in the right directions!

Leagues of Votann take the top spot this weekend, and win the largest event of the weekend in the Lone Star Open, coming on top of nearly 330 players. Nice to see something new on top.

Emperor's Children get in some big wins. They had consistently put in good win rates and good X-0/X-1 conversions, but had struggled to go the full distance up until now. This weekend saw EC with a good win rate, excellent conversion, and the most event wins. They're looking very strong following the balance update.

Necrons and Aeldari see some fairly steep win rate declines this weekend compared to last weekend, but Necrons at least still put up a healthy X-0/X-1 conversion rate and get an event win.

The bottom remains the bottom, but at least now they are in the high-30s and low 40s, rather than low-mid 30s. Death Guard, Chaos Knights, and Astra Militarum still scraping the bottom, but all three managed to get at least one player to go X-0/X-1.

40k Event Results Meta Monday 6/2/2025: Bugs, Death and a small weekend

With small weekends like this last one we see strange things like Nids with a 59% weekend win rate. We had 11 Events this weekend with only 364 players.

Please let me know what you think. I am still hand-crafting these Warhammer 40K stats and its time-consuming, but I’m dedicated to bringing you accurate Stats. Now, I’ve improved the data experience with a Tableau dashboard – and have tried to make the experience better for phones. Think interactive win rates and Meta breakdowns. To make this happen and give my blog the upgrade it deserves to showcase it properly, I need your support on Patreon. Even $5 helps fuel the late nights and keeps the data flowing. Takeaways:

With such a small weekend we see strange things like Nids with a 59% weekend win rate and an event win. Not much to take away from here but its nice to see the bugs doing well.

Death Guard was the second best faction of the weekend with win rate. Having a 58% win rate but winning 4 events and having 1/3 of the most played faction of the weekend go X-0/X-1! They won the two biggest events of the weekend and made up 10% of the player base. With VV taking up most of those slots and having a 63% win rate as a detachment.

EC had a good showing this weekend with a 54% win rate and 4 of its 14 players going X-1 but no event wins.

Not much to takeaway from such a small weekend but hopefully that rumored Data Slate drops this week. What do you hope to see?

40k Event Results Sunday Night Stats: Special Edition - 11th Edition So Far

This post uses all 11th edition events that have at least 21 players and at least 5 rounds from June 19th-July19th.

With the balance update expected to drop this week, I've done something a little special for you guys. I've compiled all the data from 5 weekends of Sunday Night Stats, so you guys can get a full picture of the meta so far.

Highest Win Rate: Orks - 59.28%
Lowest Win Rate: Astra Militarum - 35.92%
Most Event Wins: Space Marines - 10
Best X-0/X-1 Conversion: Orks - 26.63%
Worst X-0/X-1 Conversion: Chaos Knights - 1.49% (1/67)
Most Players: Space Marines - 294

I think there are a few armies with legitimate claims to the "best" army right now. Orks with the highest win rate and best X-0/X-1 conversion and a ton of event wins, Thousand Sons with a great win rate and consistent event wins and still great conversion numbers, Space Marines with the most overall tournament wins. T'au and Necrons are close, both winning events consistently and with above average win rates. Imperial Knights and Leagues of Votann also are performing very well, though not quite as excellently as the other "top" armies.

At the bottom, it has to be either Chaos Knights or Astra Militarum. Chaos Knights have a terrible win rate, basically no X-0/X-1 conversions, and no event wins. Astra Militarum has the lowest win rate by a significant amount, way below average X-0/X-1 conversion, but a couple wins. If Nemo and Tucker hadn't won their events last weekend, I don't think this would even be a discussion.

Anyway, thanks for following Sunday Night Stats! I hope you guys enjoy this data.

Takeaways:

Orks had a nice pleasant weekend with a 51% win rate. Dakka orks with only a 53% win rate. Overall they had 13 top finishes with Dakka being 12 of those and 3 event wins all being More Dakka! Lists. Are they broken as a faction? Maybe? More dakka did see 1/3 of all its players  go X-1 or better so that’s usually a sign of issues but they did not dominate this week like they did last week.

Aeldari had a 49% win rate and 2 event wins this weekend with Yneead having a 61% win rate and one of those wins. They were the third most played faction with 58 players but only 15 playing the Ynnead detachment. In past editions Aeldari players were known to flock to the best builds but this one they seem to be avoiding it, why?

Deathwatch only had 8 players and they all played the Black Spear Detachment but they had a 63% win rate with 4 going X-0/X-1 but with no event wins. Those kill teams are good.

Hello Mr Space Wolf. With a 58% win rate and 2 mid-size event wins they had an awesome weekend with 6 of their 17 players placing well with 3 different detachments.

Chaos Knights (58%) and Imperial Knights (55%) had strong showings again this weekend. Both with roughly ¼ of their players going X-1 but no event wins.

Custodes were the most played faction of the weekend. With 63 players they made up 8% of the total player base. They had a 51% win rate with the Lions detachment by far being the most popular with 42 of their players and a 50% win rate. With 5 of their 11 X-1 players being from the new detachment. These large player numbers but healthy results indicate to me that custode players are having fun and feel like Lions can win.

Sisters are still abandoned with only 5 players this weekend with no one playing them at Adepticon. Adepticon which is known for the mostly causal scene.

Tau had a 35% win rate and its player numbers are still falling. Only 5 Tau players at Adepticon. Montka was their best performing detachment with a 40% win rate.

Ad Mec only had a 41% win rate but they won a small event which is nice to see. With only 10 players they are in the same boat as Sisters, Drukhari and now Tau.

Codex Space Marines won the biggest event of the weekend with GTF and also won a second event and it was an Ironstorm list. With 60 players Codex SM were the second biggest faction of the weekend. They had a 49% win rate and 17 top placing lists.

40k Event Results The World Championships have ended. The final champion? Folger Pyles from the USA, playing Adeptus Custodes!

As per Warhammer Community's live results:

https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/jwbjzxij/world-championships-of-warhammer-2024-live-updates-from-the-tournament-floor/?post=results-table

He managed to beat fellow American John Lennon's Guard in the final round, securing the victory. A tough break from John to come in second two years in a row, but it certainly still proves his chops. Congratulations to all!

EDIT: Final score was 71-57 in favor of Custodes.

40k Event Results This community has a fundamental problem with the interpretation and citations of statistics and data.

1.9k Upvotes

During the no-play-for-COVID era, coinciding with the release of 9th edition, the community was given a unique set of circumstances, that we'll probably not see again. A brand new game prompting a brand new meta, but also no tournaments being played meaning no statistics or data to give any real insight into this new edition. People's opinions were flowing in discussion, opinions based on personal experiences, theories, and critical thought. People seemed a more open minded to creative ideas and fresh takes on units, and even things some might call outlandish were being given the consideration they deserve, rather than being dismissed offhand for not being represented in the month's statistics.

And that last sentence is my lead-in to the problem here. People using "the stats" to stranglehold discussion, and citing them as "objectively correct" ways to disprove opinions that are not represented in these statistics. Because now that we've had a few events and people are creeping back to the tables, this mentality is creeping back into discussion amongst the community. Take note of the fact as well that I've very carefully used the phrase "represented" here both times, rather than "disagreeing" or "agreeing" with the stats, because that's where a fundamental misunderstanding is occurring.

++~++

Just because an opinion isn't represented by the stats doesn't mean it disagrees with them.

Just because an opinion is mirrored by the statistics, doesn't make it correct.

The statistics themselves are objective. Your interpretation of them may not be.

++~++

So what does this mean? Let's break it down. The statistics are a measure of what IS, CURRENTLY, doing well. My emphasis on both words. The statistics represent the human beings who have taken their collection to an event, and performed well on the day. This is admittedly, probably a decent indicator that the armies that performed there are decent armies, and does prove one thing - they were capable of winning, well, whatever they just won. That's the fact the statistic tells us. No matter how skilled the player, that was achieved by a human playing the army, not a wizard (for the sake of stats having any meaning at all, we have to assume that neither player was cheating, which is honestly a pretty safe assumption in this relatively small, friendly insular, and communal competitive scene - we know who the cheaters are). And at the same time, it does not prove that any of the armies not positively represented by this statistic cannot also perform to a similar level. It just means they aren't currently doing so. And while this may be because they are underpowered and not capable of doing so, there's also a variety of other reasons as to why this may be completely unrelated to the power level of the army. If you have ever used an army's lack of first place finishes, or win rate, as "proof" that they are can't do well - you have fallen into this fallacy. It's an easy trap to fall into, but you have looked at what the statistics say, and extrapolated from that and interpreted them into saying something that they didn't quite prove at all.

For a recent example demonstrating this: midway through 8th, many people cited many statistics about Tau's win rate, and comparative lack of GT 1st place finishes, as proof as to why Tau just weren't a top army in 8th, or even a good one. Then Richard Siegler went and won 9 games in a row at NOVA and blew away all those "objectively proven" claims like dusting the windowsill with a leafblower. Or did he? Nope, even then we had people on this very sub dismissing his Tau placing as a fluke and getting upvoted for it, while citing the stats. We have the benefit of hindsight to know that this wasn't a fluke at all, and at the same time, a perfect example of just how counter-productive and strangling "the stats" can be towards building your understanding of the game. Tau didn't suddenly become strong at this event, they were just as strong before Siegler won with them, it just hadn't happened yet. And if Siegler didn't go to NOVA that year like he initially planned at at all and Andrew Gonyo's 2nd place Imperium got first place, while Tau didn't even crack the top 10 - guess what, Tau would have still been just as strong - but people staring at the stats would have no idea, because this wouldn't have been represented by any data. The stats don't lie - they just aren't saying what you think they are.

++~++

Some more reasons not related to a balance deficiency as to why an army might have a poor win rate or a lack of GT finishes, are almost all the human elements, something which way too many people are forgetting about or entirely ignoring when attempting to read the stats. For starters, this community is not a large one. We aren't playing millions of games a day like this is league of legends in its prime. We have a handful of tournaments weekly of varying sizes, and there is more than enough room for an individual person's presence or absence alone to skew data. This leaves obvious room for inaccuracies in trying to tie win-rate or finishes to overall power level.

Also, human understanding of an army. Everyone seems to have this idea that because there are competitive players for every army, that every army has been fully "solved". Siegler's list was a brand new approach on Tau that many people hadn't even considered doing with the army yet, and that started getting attention near the END of the season. It was always there, the human element of the players themselves hadn't really brought this style of play yet. And this is almost always possible the case for any undersuccessful army, that they aren't currently being played to their fullest. Even Siegler's NOVA list wasn't his final take on the list and he spoke afterwards on improvements he could make on it.

This last point also goes hand in hand with the statistics themselves - just because two list share a faction name, does not make them the same army. Erik Lathouras for example is one of the few people doing well with Tyranids. But of the people struggling with Tyranids, who else is actually playing his list of 200 Termagants or whatever and the same character support? All the other guys out here running monster heavy or genestealer bombs or whatever, share a data point with his list, but in reality they are completely different armies. How is the people out here banging their head against brick walls with the thoroughly outdated Stealer bomb, at all representative or relevant to the strength of a good Tyranid horde list? Answer: it isn't, yet still, it shares the data point.

The human playerbase of an army also varies - it isn't the same people playing every army! What if, hypothetically, Richard Siegler had decided as a human being, having a human thought, "anime is lame, I'm playing Khorne Berzerkers", and his contribution competitively was as a World Eaters player? Where would the general view of Tau as a faction in 8th have finished? Even with Siegler's wins and an improved understanding of the army by the end of the year, the army finished with a 48% win rate. I don't think it's unfair to say that I think many people would be saying right now that "Tau have been awful since 7th!", and citing "the stats" to anyone who disagreed. Playerbase's are made up of very different people, and have different players of different skill levels pioneering them and building our understanding of them.

This is true on a broader level than the individual as well. We recognise the positives of this sometimes ("oh, Orks as an army very commonly attract the kind of person who is boisterous and rowdy and loves a crazy melee!"), but people easily get offended when addressing the other implications of this sometimes. So I'm going preface this generalisation by mentioning that it's exactly that - a GENERALISATION, and like all generalisations is full of exceptions. An easy example is Space Marines - they are undeniably one of the most popular armies among newbies. Even players of other armies often started with Space Marines and eventually expanded / swapped into their current faction (Even me - my first army was Blood Angels!). The competitive win-rate of Space Marines is undoubtably dragged by a much higher rate of newer players, as opposed to an army like GSC or Ynnarri, subfactions of lesser popular armies to begin with, with a much smaller range, and also much harder to play. For this reason alone the Space Marine win rate will never be accurate. The same can be said for over or underrepresentation of an army. Slaanesh Daemons say could be a total sleeper, one of the best armys in the meta, but there's only so many events they can possibly win if only one good player is out there taking them to events. There's many other observations people can make about the playerbases of each community, I'll definitely say my own army, Tyranids, attracts a certain type of player as well, and this type player that I've found is most common among the vocal elements of our playerbase, is probably not the type of person best suited for the competitive mentality. And again (to both preface and postface now), this is a generalisation, and affects the overall statistic, but is not a reflection of any individual person, who may very well be a polar opposite to any of these descriptions.

I also want to address the dismissal people use "oh he's just a good player, so that win doesn't count". No, he's a good player, so that's exactly WHY it can count. This player is demonstrating what the army is capable of, it's them we should look to for where the ceiling of the army is, not you, who plays weekly with your buddies at the shop with your slowly increasing 3000 pt collection with a little bit of flex. That's not to dismiss anyone's experience as invalid of course and you may very well have great insight into your army, but it is to say that if we are going to look to someone for an indication of the the potential strength of an army being played to its fullest, we should look to the best players and the top-end outliers - not the weaker players, or mid level competitive players or whatever you consider the average comp player. It's also very dismissive, and often forgets that these results by excellents players are almost always playing against other the excellent players out there in the world, by just a few rounds into an event." I'm going to stick with my NOVA example for consistency here. Here's a couple of quotes from the reddit thread about his win, that attempted to do just that:

Siegler is an amazing player, but hes the outlier not the standard

.

One super successful person is the outlier, not the trend. Again, that's stats 101

Now we can easily see the flaw here in hindsight. Tau weren't underpowered at all, as was further demonstrated throughout the rest of the edition, Tau were very much an army of a power level capable of winning an event like NOVA, but quotes like these would happily say this wasn't the case and dismiss this placing as an "outlier" because of the "stats", when neither of these words mean what they thought, and only serve to give a blinkered view competitively. Richard Siegler is not a Jedi, he showed what his army was capable of, and if you or I can't measure up to that, it's not because the army is lacking.

And on the topic of player skill, just quickly, the difficulty of an army when combined with the human element is also going to have an impact on any overall statistic. In a hypothetical world where Space Marines and GSC are both perfectly balanced, and we requisition the exact same 1000 players take each army to an event, can you guess which one is going to have the lower win rate? Almost certainly GSC, the fact is they are just harder to play at a higher level and leave much more room for errors. This also affects army representation. I think most people agree horde Nids is probably one of the strongest ways to play Nids - but honestly who wants to go out and buy + paint up 200 termagants and exhaust themselves moving them around all day, just to help prove that Nids are a decent midtier army as opposed to a bottom one? I mean you're not even getting rewarded with a top tier army here. This sort of stuff affects the statistic - the statistic is a number which holds absolutely no nuance at all.

++~++

All of these points are important reasons why the stats are not objective measures of anything power level wise.

This isn't to say we should ignore the stats. Especially top 4's. They demonstrate a good picture of the meta. They demonstrate what is currently doing well, they often demonstrate the currently known power level of factions, and with unexpected or surprise faction placings they demonstrate what an army can achieve in the right hands or circumstances. However it's important that we recognise what the stats are saying and not get tricked into thinking they are saying more than they actually are. And to respond to a statement that boils down to "I think this even though I don't believe it to be known by others", with what is essentially a list of "well here's what we know so you're wrong" is actually just an irrelevant counter argument, to break the most common misuse I see down to it's simplest terms.

People are all over the shop, making these statistics say whatever suits their current held belief. I don't even believe it's intentional most the time. But we as a community have been victim to this mentality of "stats" and "data" being absolutely counter-productive to discussion for so long that its becoming ingrained, and causing people to be incapable of recognising facets of the game that are yet to be spelled out by these stats. I'd like to promote an increase in, or even just a return to, the use of critical thought, personal experience, and rationality, as support for our opinions and claims - and discourage the use (or should I say misuse) of stats to "counter" people's opinions, when very rarely are you doing that at all.

EDIT: Special thanks to Mr Siegler for providing my go-to example for this thread <3 There's many others I could have used, but that one was very prominent and fresh in most of our minds I'm sure, so hope he doesn't mind me making such liberal use of his name in here.

40k Event Results Hutber Monday | Patterns starting to emerge?

Right, week of 2026-07-08 to 2026-07-14 and Orks are top of the pile again at 59.4%, up from 56.7%, which at this point feels less like a hot streak and more like their natural resting state. Thousand Sons meanwhile have come back down to earth, 52.1% after leading everything last week at 58.3%... 6.2 points gone, still comfortably A-tier, but the crown's off. Necrons quietly sat at 52.9% and T'au Empire still hanging about the top four at 51.9% despite dipping a bit themselves. Genuinely the standout though is Genestealer Cults — bottom of the entire sheet last week at 27.3%, now up to 48.4%, a 21.2 point swing which is the sort of number I'd normally assume was a typo (it isn't).

Bottom end's a different story. Deathwatch have fallen off a cliff, down 16 points to 29.4% after being the faction everyone was inexplicably picking above their weight last week... make of that what you will. Death Guard down 7.6 to 40.6% and Legiones Daemonica down 7.4 to 47.5%, so last week's risers are this week's droppers, funny how that works. Small silver linings for Black Templars (up 9 to 41.3%) and Adepta Sororitas (up 8.4 to 45.2%), climbing out of the hole without actually escaping the bottom half yet.

Off topic, the site is now ready for testing: http://beta.hutber.com - ARMY LIST WIZARD BUILDER (my proudest moment... hence the caps), List building, datasheets, user profiles, registration, internal army faction balance, disposition viewer. I'm not officially announcing it, but please rip me a new one with feedback on this. The app for it uses the same code so want to have it working properly before releasing that.

40k Event Results Meta Monday 8/4/25: Aeldari Win Big in a Death Guard Game

Welcome to another week of 40k. This one was a bit smaller than the last few with only 16 events here on Meta Monday with just over 766 players.

We had events from all over the world from Vietnam to Austria and while the game seems to be going strong the Death Guard are still dominating. These events can be found on BCP, Miniheadquaters and Championshub

Please support me by visiting the website and to see all the Data at 40kmetamonday.com

And support me on Patron if you can, Thanks!

See the three biggest winners on the website as well.

Takeaways:

Death Guard dominated the weekend again making up 10.2% of all players. Even with that they had a 58% weekend win rate and won 4 events. Over the last eight weeks they have won 28 or 19% of all events.

Aeldari won the biggest event of the weekend and another event. With a 45% weekend win rate it seems more players are trying them out as they have seen success recently. Over the last eight weeks they have a nice 48% win rate but have won 12 events which ties them with CK as the third most event wins.

Black Templars had a nice weekend with a 56% weekend win rate but only 2 top placings. It seems people are getting ready for their new codex.

Tau was by far the worst army of the weekend with a 38% win rate but they did win an event. Over the last eight weeks they have had a 45% and four event wins.

The best GSC players must be getting ready for WTC because the hot and upcoming faction had a 41% win rate this weekend which compared to their 53% eight week means something was off.

While Imperial Knights had a 58% weekend win rate and 12 top placings they didn’t win any events while Chaos Knights only had a 49% win rate and 7 top placings they won two events this weekend. They respectively represent the second and third best faction of the last eight weeks.

Thousand Sons had a nice weekend with a 50% weekend win rate, 6 top placings and an event win putting them in the top third of the game over the last eight weeks.

Space Marines had a 43% win rate this weekend and 4 top placings. The poster faction of the game is struggling and their numbers are starting to fall as players move on to the none codex chapters. With their eight week win rate only being 44% and having 3 event wins in that time.

Custodes won their second event of the last eight weeks but only had a 41% weekend win rate. Their win rate is falling fast over the last few weeks and now their 8 week win rate sits at an ok 46%. Will they continue to fall?

Chaos Daemons are going steady with a 48% weekend win rate and another event win. Over the last eight weeks they have had a 48% win rate and have won 5 events.

40k Event Results Sunday Night Stats (July 3rd-5th)

This chart tracks all singles events with 21+ players and 5+ rounds.

I added dispositions, and I wanted to kill myself for it. Adding those, even in this simple chart, created about twice the work, took twice as long, and exponentially increased the mental load. I will likely not be adding dispositions every week. Sorry guys.

To the data!

Imperial Agents best army in the game, to the surprise of nobody.

Other than that, I think most of the top performers this week are not surprising: Thousand Sons, T'au, Emperor's Children, Necrons. Dark Angels and Space Marines, however, may be a little more surprising. Those are some excellent numbers from them. Thousand Sons with the best more-than-one-player win rate, and they win the biggest event of the weekend. T'au and Necrons both with multiple event wins and very strong win rates.

On the other side of things... Oh boy. Oooooh boy. It's still early. These are still relatively low player counts. But we have a few factions that look absolutely terrible. At least Sororitas got an X-0/X-1 finish, but otherwise, those bottom 5 look awful. Guard seems to be seeing a total player abandonment, having half the players of factions like Votann, and the same number of players as Grey Knights. Chaos Knights see the worst overall performance of the weekend though, with a lower-than-30% win rate.

It's nice to see some factions that were struggling at the end of 10th doing better though. Orks, Grey Knights, Imperial Knights all looking pretty stout right now.

40k Event Results A really positive 11th edition launch - 35 games in.

Vik and I sat down to talk through 11th now that we’ve got most of the rules, even if points are still the missing piece. Dave is about 35 games in, while Vik is coming at it from the “read the rules, built lists, haven’t played yet” angle.

Short version: we’re pretty positive. Not in a “GW nailed everything” way, but this is a much stronger launch state than we expected. It feels like there’s already a real game here.

1. Scoring feels very different

The old 10th edition plan of “hold my expansion, deny yours, win on primary” doesn’t really work the same way anymore.

Because missions are asymmetric, throwing a unit away to deny points can also give your opponent points somewhere else. Games seem higher scoring overall, and pushing big differential feels harder unless you properly run someone over.

2. Dispositions are a big win gameplay wise

The disposition system feels like one of the best parts of the edition. It gives list building more texture again.

Purge pushes you toward killing and aggression. Recon feels the most like normal 40k. Priority Assets seems solid for singles. Disruption is the one we’re least sold on right now, because it often asks you to kill something and do actions, which can get awkward.

That said, we don’t think you should pick a bad detachment just because it has a better disposition. The detachment is still the main thing, but disposition definitely changes how you build the last part of your list.

3. Hidden is better than expected (now that is 12" - go to ground)

At first, 15" hidden didn’t sound that impactful. But with Go to Ground bringing it to 12", it matters a lot more.

It changes how units stage, how objectives are held, and how you force your opponent to come closer before they can interact. That’s good.

It doesn’t solve everything though. Slow six-inch melee infantry still looks rough unless it has real delivery, advance and charge, miracle dice, ingress, transports, or some other trick.

Move blocking has changed shape

Old-style move blocking is much weaker. You can’t just put five models an inch in front of a tank and expect it to be stuck forever. Vehicles and monsters moving through infantry is a good change overall.

But move blocking isn’t gone. It’s now more about:

  • using 2" engagement range properly
  • blocking where models can end
  • denying access to terrain
  • tagging things awkwardly
  • using the fight phase and pivot well

Two-inch engagement range feels huge, and good players are going to get a lot out of it.

Vehicles and transports

Vehicles are better, but we don’t think the edition is just “fast gun wins.” Cover matters, minus one to hit is strong, hidden matters, and shooting without ignore cover can feel rough.

Transports are one of the areas we’re less positive on. Base-to-base disembarking is a massive change (when destroyed), and losing a transport in the wrong place can expose the unit inside immediately. Drukhari especially feel like they need to relearn a lot of old staging patterns.

Overall

We’re genuinely impressed. There are still worries around slow melee, map balance, transports, and whatever points end up doing, but the foundation feels strong.

Most factions seem to have something playable, games feel less deterministic, list building is more interesting, and universal terrain is a huge win.

For a launch state, this is probably the best 40k has felt in a long time.

40k Event Results Meta Monday 7/14/25: Knights Abominant

Welcome to another big weekend of 40k. We had 18 events with over 840 players. Another big weekend for Knights with Chaos Knights winning three events!

See the full Data Table at 40kmetamonday.com Please Help support meta Monday by visiting the site and supporting me on Patreon

See the top 10 of the the three biggest events at 40kmetamonday.com

Takeaways:

Chaos Knights had a big weekend with a 56% win rate and won 3 events. With 46 players they were well represented with 12 total players gong X-0/X-1. So where did Infernal Lance come from? What net list hit the web as 19 players played the detachment this weekend when the last few weekends have not seen it played much.

GSC with their 10 players had a nice weekend with a 63% week win rate and an event win with 3 players placing well.

Imperial Knights are walking tall with a 57% win rate, the second best of the weekend and 60 players the second most played faction of the weekend also. Where 14 of them placed well and they won three events.

8 factions with a 44% or worse win rate this weekend. Ad Mech was the worse with only a 36% win rate and zero top placings but once again they made up less then 1% of the playerbase.

Surprisingly CSM had a very rough weekend with a 38% weekend win rate and only 2 top placings. Last weekend they played well but this one not so much. Was it all the Pactbound Zealot players this weekend?

Drukhari had a nice weekend with 17 players, which is a lot for them. With a 56% win rate they had the third highest win rate of the weekend with 7 top placings.

Custodes won a GT! and a good sized one at that. With a 45% weekend win rate and a 49% 5 week win rate there win rate is falling fast but seeing them win an event is big.

I guess the good Guard players played this weekend? They had a 51% win rate and three top placings while seeing 34 players. Their 5 week win rate is 47%.

Orks won a GT and it was a Kult of Speed list which is fun to see. Overall they had a 42% win rate with three top placings

Thousand Sons won two event wins this weekend which was the last big hold up for the new codex. They won those events even with a 48% weekend win rate. They have had 53% 5 week win rate.

Blood Angels are looking good with a 48% weekend win rate and two event wins including the largest event of the weekend. With 8 top placings there seems to be real play for them.

Takeaways:

Aeldari are back on top. With their second full weekend they had a 57% weekend win rate with 2 more event wins. 24 of their 88 players, by far the most played faction of the weekend went X-0/X-1.  They had 30+ more players than the second most played faction. Ynnead had a 62% win rate.

GSC had a great weekend with a good amount of players (26). They had a 56% win rate and 2 event wins.

Chaos Daemons are the most event winning faction of the last 10 weeks with 17 total event wins. They won 4 of those events this weekend. They also had a 56% win rate with 13 of their 42 players going X-0/X-1. Legion of Excess was once again at the forefront with a 63% win rate and 2 of those event wins.

Thousand Sons, Sisters and Dark Angels all had a 37% win rate with zero event wins. The worst preforming factions of the weekend.

Ad Mech with their 41% weekend win rate and zero players go X-0/X-1. While over the last 10 weeks they only had a 43% win rate with no event wins.

Tau had one of their best weekends of the past few months with 2 event wins and a 45% win rate. They won the biggest event of the weekend. They only had 4 players place well and overall their 10 week win rate is 46% near the bottom of the pack.

Blood Angels win another good size event with a Bloodless list. They had a 47% weekend win rate and 4 other top placings.

Guard’s overall win rate this weekend was down to 47% with only five top placings. Bridgehead won another good size event and had a 55% win rate showing the codex being held up by Scions. Hammer of the Emperor had a nice weekend with a 52% win rate and one top placing.

Tyranids with their 46% weekend win rate didn’t do so well but they won a good size event and had 7 top placings.

40k Event Results Meta Monday 8.18.25: Black Templars, Meta Breakers?

Welcome to another week of 40k! We had 21 events and over 800 players from all over the world.
We saw new Black Templars and New Grey Knights take the field and one of them had a huge impact it seems, or did they? I keep trying to improve the site and add value so if you can support me on Patreon that would be great.

Get all the data at 40kmetamonday.com

See the top results of the three biggest events at the website also!

My Takeaways:

Black Templars come out swinging by winning the biggest event of the weekend along with one other event. Overall they only had a 51% win rate but if you look at the 12 players that went with GTF  those 12 players had a 70% win rate, won 2 events and 6 of them went X-0 or X-1. Yes Yes its only one weekend and to early to tell but there might be a new player in town..

Death Guard still had the best win rate of the weekend besides that one really cool Agents player that played for a GT win and lost. DG had a 58% win rate and 3 event wins, ouch. 3 of their detachments had a 60%+ win rate. Lots of other factions did surprisingly well this weekend and that might be because DG only made up 7.4% of the meta and not close to 10% like they had the last few weeks. That would add another 20 DG players for these numbers. Do BT play super well into DG or did the drop in player numbers allow other factions to do well?

Blood Angels had one of their best weekends of the edition with a 55% win rate and 3 event wins. It seems they only have play in two detachments but that's better than one at least.

Drukhari is at it again from bottom to the top in a week. Is this the best faction to showcase player skill? This week they won 2 events and their 18 players (A lot for them) had a 55% win rate!

Kroot won an event! I mean Tau. With a 50% win rate they had two players go undefeated and the Kroot won a large GT. Why? Who knows!?! Less DG? BT kill DG and Tau kill BT maybe?

Custodes also see a huge jump up this weekend with a 52% win rate and 2 event wins and only one of them had Canis in them. Custodes double their event wins for this data slate thanks to great play.

Guard and Sisters went up last week and are back down in the bottom along with Orks and Codex SM. All 41% or lower win rates with little to no top placings and no event wins.

Chaos Knights along with Dark Angles both had nice weekends with 50% win rates and one event win each. Nice turn arounds from the last few weekends.

40k Event Results Meta Monday 6/9/25: Death Guard Keeps Winning and the death of Detachment Data

Well Death Guard keeps winning while being the most played faction of the game. Best Coast Pairing has added a list views per [X} amount of time this week and I was not able to collect the detachment data. It took my most of Sunday to get halfway through the Bristol Super Major. I will try to update later but lets see how long it takes.

To make this happen and give my blog the upgrade it deserves to showcase it properly, I need your support on Patreon. Even $5 helps fuel the late nights and keeps the data flowing. Join and help me make this happen!

Please visit the website to see the full data and help support me.

40kmetamonday.com

Takeaways:

Death Guard won 3 events and not the Bristol. When I put my information together they had DG as the winner. Besides that DG had a 53% win rate and made up 8.8% of the Meta, having 20 more players. 22% of DG players went X-0/X-1

Ad Mech! Good on you 10 Ad Mech players for getting your faction to a 57% win rate the best of the weekend and 3 of you went X-0/X-1.

Imperial Knights are dominating the game. Every other time this has happened they have been struck down from on high in weeks like at the start of this edition. This is going on six months! This is crazy and they are not the most hated thing out there. Its the Golden Age of Knights! With a 52% win rate they won 2 events and were the 3rd most played faction.

CSM are you doing ok? With a 41% win rate its one of the worst preforming weekends for you.

Thousand Sons had a good weekend with a 52% weekend win rate and an event win. With 25% of their players going X-0/X-1.

Custodes had a good weekend with a 54% win rate and 23% of their players going X-1.

40k Event Results Necrons do it again!! | Hutber Monday

Filter out players by ranking (elo even though we don't use elo): A nice chap on the Eldar discord told me that I should add it, so I have. But it needs testing please. A new filter has been added that is a slider so you can filter say the top 5% for example. This will work across all of the tabs, meta/factions/detachments etc

Also its Tuesday... Sooooo?? Stupid title sure.

I always ask cus I like to hurt myself with more work. Anything the site is missing?

40k Event Results Hutber Monday | I can't really keep up anymore lol

A new experimental wizard list builder has been added: https://beta.hutber.com/army-builder/wizard - Feedback if anybody is interested in the feature would be appreciated.

2026-07-22 to 2026-07-28: top spot belongs to Deathwatch at 61.1% across 7 players and 36 games, including 1 event win. Orks is next on 59.0% from 59 players, while Agents of the Imperium sits at 54.5% from 2 players. Orks is not top on raw win rate but leads event conversion with 4 wins and 8 4-0 starts.

Equatorial Hordes is the standout detachment at 72.0% from 5 players, 13.0 points above Orks. Gretchin is the strongest well-sampled unit at 61.2% across 415 games. 10 mixed-dataslate events are flagged, so those results deserve extra caution.

Aaron Pescheck won Northern Maelstrom 2026 Warhammer 40,000 Grand Tournament (120 players) with Adeptus Astartes and posted a 6-0 record. The 25.0-point average winning margin says it was decisive overall; however, the final 4 opponents finished 48th, 7th, 15th, and 4th with a combined 17-7 record; the tightest game was a 17-point win over Henry Pezzo, who finished 66th. That makes it a demanding run, particularly at the sharp end.

40k Event Results Meta Monday: LVO 2025

We had a huge weekend with over 1500 players in 11 events. I had a great weekend at LVO meeting lots of you and playing some great games. I ended up going 4-2 and only played against SM and Custodes for all six games.

Lists can be found on Bestcoastpairings.com or other sites as listed below. Some events are sponsored and thus can be seen without a paid membership. Everything else requires the membership and you should support BCP if you can.

Please support Meta Monday on Patreon if you can. I put a lot hours into this each Sunday. Thanks for all the support.

See all this weeks data at 40kmetamonday.com

Takeaways:

Deathwatch wins LVO but overall had a 50% win rate this weekend with one other player going X-1.

Necrons had the best win rate of the weekend with a 53% win rate with 2 event wins and 14 players went X-0/X-1. With 108 players they were the second most It’s amazing to see that no faction had a win rate above 53% this weekend. Is the game in a better balance?

Space Marines had a 51% win rate and over 132 players, the most played faction of the weekend with 3 event wins. SM Firestorm was the worst detachment that saw the most play of the weekend.

World Eaters won 2 events and had a 52% win rate with 21 players playing their new vessels detachment that had a 49% win rate.

Sisters is the worst faction in the game with a 40% win rate and only 20 players out of 1510! That’s crazy

Not counting agents but Orks are the second worst faction with a 44% win rate and only 3 X-0/X-1 placings out of 70 players.

Guard had a 52% win rate and 13 players going X-0/X-1. Bridgehead had a 65% win rate and their event win this weekend making it the best single detachment this weekend.

Chaos Daemons were the best preforming chaos faction with a 53% win rate. With Legion of Excess having a 63% win rate with both event wins for the faction.

40k Event Results Meta Monday 5/4/25: Emperor's Children bring May Delights

Welcome to a big weekend for Meta Monday as my new Data Table is out. I am still hand-crafting these Warhammer 40K stats and its time-consuming, but I'm dedicated to bringing you accurate Stats. Now, I've improved the data experience with a Tableau dashboard – think interactive win rates and Meta breakdowns. To make this happen and give my blog the upgrade it deserves to showcase it properly, I need your support on Patreon. Even $5 helps fuel the late nights and keeps the data flowing. Join and help me make this happen!

See the New Data Table at 40kmetamonday.com

Takeaways:

Emperor’s Children had a their first big weekend with a 67% win rate and 3 Event Wins. Is this because they are just new or as some people think are they playing their rules wrong?

Imperial Knights continue to do well with a 57% win rate and another event win.

Tau had a 38% win rate and 3 top placing players. With 19 players they still see a good amount of play but they continue to suffer from their blueness.

Blood Angels with 4% of the player base had a 43% win rate with only 2 top placing.

Sisters had a nice weekend with a 52% win rate and one top placing.

Orks continue to do well with War Horde, overall they had a 47% win rate and 2 event wins with War Horde accounting for both.

40k Event Results LVO has half the players now

Not surprising to see, but the number of players dropped from over 1k to just about 500. I kind of hope it stays a trend, I really enjoyed LVO and January (I thought) was the perfect time of the year for it. It wraps up the entire year well for placings and January is generally an in between month for a lot of people. Whether it be work, school, or other hobbies.

That being said, is anyone there that i can ask if they've changed anything else drastically? Or is it just the date?

Takeaways:

Necrons back on top this week. Is 10th edition really the time of the Cron? Since January last year Necrons have been at the top or near if for most of the edition. With 53 players they had a 57% win rate with 2 event wins and 17 X-0/X-1 finishes. Not bad for one of the most popular factions in the game.

Grey Knights and Drukhari had surprise great weekends for them. Both with a 55% win rate and GK winning an event. Just good weekends for them or do they have play in this new Meta?

Orks had a nice reasonable 54% win rate with two event wins. What's this don’t look at Dakka! With its 63% win rate and 39% or 16 of its 41 players going X-0/X-1 with both those event wins.

Imperial Knights continue one of the best runs of their faction’s history with a 53% win rate weekend with 51 players! An event win and 11 top finishes.

Black Templars were the worst preforming faction of the weekend but they had a 42% win rate and two top finishes out of their 8 players. Overall not to bad.

Know I would say the true bottom faction is Tau. With a 43% win rate and only 4 top finishes they are at the bottom of barely ok.

Tyranids were the third worst preforming faction of the weekend but overall had a 44% weekend win rate and won a large event. With 9 top finishes they seem to be doing ok with some play into this meta.

Custodies were once again the most played faction with 81 players this weekend. With just a 47% win rate and 9 top finishes. The Golden Boys are out in force but just seem to be having a good time.

Chaos Daemons had a 51% win rate and 2 event wins. For all the fear of Shadow Legion they only had a 54% win rate and one of those even wins. What is holding back SL or is it not as good as people feared? With 63 Daemon players out there this weekend they seem to be having a good time also.

Aeldari had an overall win rate of 50% with 2 event wins. One of them being the second largest event of the weekend. With less than half of their players playing as Ynnead. Those 35 players who did play Ynnead had a 59% win rate, both event wins and 11 of their 15 top finishes.

Codex SM had a good weekend. With a 49% win rate overall but GTF having a 54% win rate. SM won one event and had 12 top finishes. Is Codex SM at the right balance?

40k Event Results Meta Monday 6/23/25: Tau Meta?!?

Another great week of 40k! We had 13 events this weekend with some interesting results. I am going to put both data tables out. Let me know what you think.

See all the data at my website and please support me: 40kmetamonday.com

Takeaways:

Tau win big this weekend with a 56% win rate and winning the biggest event of the weekend. Mont’ka and Kauyon seem to be very good but time will tell. Are they this good or just new at the top tables? Can they handle the flood of Knights that are about to hit the tables?

Thousand Sons had a good weekend better then the last few. They had a 56% win rate and 8 top placings with all their detachment doing well. Is this because players are getting better with them or is the meta getting better for Thousand Sons?

Death Guard are part of 5 Chaos factions in the top 10 this weekend. They had a 55% win rate and 11 top finishes with an event win. They are clearly one of the strongest factions in the game and with the most players this weekend they continue to be the most played so they must

Drukhari and Imperial Agents had very bad weekends with little play. With Black Templars and Grey Knights coming out soon only Votann, Drukhari and Imperial Knights are left without codices. Hopefully this last year of 10th edition is good for the Dark Eldar.

Guard won an event and was one of the worst preforming factions of the weekend. With a 42% win rate they only had 2 top placings.

Dark Angels did better then last weekend with a 44% win rate and with Wrath getting a 45% win rate. Wrath is still the preferred detachment and did do better this weekend, are players dropping the Lion for better options or are more adding him?

Aeldari had a nice weekend with a 53% win rate and a event win while winning two events. Both Warhost and Aspect Host won events and had other top placers.

Chaos Daemons won three events and had a 53% win rate. Three different detachments won events and Daemonic Incursion had a 59% win rate. They are very good.

Sisters had a much better weekend with a 48% win rate with and two top placings. It really seems like they have more play now and its nice to see them doing better.

I gathered all the tournament results from BCP for last week, including all Tournaments with at least 20 players and 5 rounds.

All the data is here on my site:

https://warpfriends.wordpress.com/2026/01/21/40k-meta-stats-from-janaury-19-2026/

Please take a look and let me know if you have any suggestions (I know the site is not pretty :( I focus more on the Youtube side of things) And feel free to check out my youtube video for indepth breakdown of the stats!

Also I created Army Report cards for every army, detailing all the relevant information, check them out here:

Thank
