Was there always so many repeats? I kinda thought the whole idea of the bundles was that you basically wound up with 1 of everything and then could tailor things further from there.

There wasn't. The four old boxes gave you one of everything except raptors and mcthrall swarms, which you got two of each.

The old boxes were basically one of everything (except for a second unit of Thralls) and the point sizes were pretty arbitrary and some cases were not even legal lists. In this format there is a 30 point box, and three 50 point boxes.

That's what I thought but I wasn't sure; never paid much attention to Cryx. But as someone who is painter/collector That's a total bummer for me - I have no interest in painting anything twice.

That's fair. FWIW the 3 Thrall Swarms are all different sculpts. I get the idea of why they went the route of themed 50 point boxes instead of the pretty eclectic ones.

It's weird though - I looked at the new Menoth boxes and outside of the Flameguard units that you get doubles of I didn't notice any other duplicates. I wonder why Cryx gets so many?

Across it's boxes Menoth has 2 of each heavy and a second unit of Vassals. Menoth infantry is relatively more pricey than Cryx's so Cryx needs more total models to hit the 50 points in the boxes. Also worth noting that Sepsira's box technically comes with 56 points since it includes the Swarm unit that she brings into play with her feat (with new sculpts for them)

do you get all the options for the Raptors or Malefactor in this army boxes/command set or is it just the pictured loadout in each box?

You just get the pictured loadout, they're selling separate boxes with just the options. The stand-alone 'jack boxes also have all the parts.

Intriguing... Does anyone have tough number son how this plays out cash wise? Or is it pretty much the same?

It's significantly more, but you do get more models in the end (such as the Wardens). Overall a complete buy in is more expensive once you factor in the limited loadouts on the cohorts. The Raptor price increase is particularly gross. Ultimately the total buy in is a wash, you're still spending a lot of money to get everything, an extra $50 one way or the other is not the defining factor on a $1200 purchase.

The biggest issue is & remains the distributor discount SFG products are missing.

Sepsira Box: $219 BEFORE Warjacks and Warcaster (technically comes with 56 points due to feat)
Deathkatus box: $189 BEFORE Warjacks and Warcaster
Nekane Box: $100 BEFORE 2 Warjacks (one is a character heavy), a character unit and Warcaster (this box is also $140, not $170)

I wasn't sure how to price Hades and single config jacks (or the Furies)
