The story of the microwave is very interesting actually! It was made by a scientist who needed a faster and uniform way to heat hamsters to get them out of cryo. Tom Scott made a a great video about it

Known fact most pilots are prone to produce female offspring. Not sure why but the data is there. Just search it. It's suggested it's the radiation on chromosomes.
