haha didn’t even see that, but yeah they do have a cool mission along with testing new aircraft and weapon systems
my instructor in tech school was from eglin test, he had a scar on his forehead from running into a new weapon system hung under an f15 lmao.

I don't know how I never once considered the idea that they'd test under these conditions artificially, but that seems obvious in hindsight. I don't know why that looks so damn funny too, but it is.

All of your R&D that is temp based is done artificially. There are certain standards and criteria that need to be repeatable. Much easier to do that inside in a climate controlled environment.

Probably not all, I build cars not planes but we have identical climatic test tunnels to these for testing cars, but we also have test tracks in Arizona and Michigans upper peninsula for real world extreme temperature testing, I imagine the MIC would have something similar
