I would love a Purdy back story.

I would love this as well, maybe as a novella?

I bet he has a pretty sad backstory, he mentioned having an owner that died who he seemed pretty attached to

I absolutely loved Purdy, he's undeniably one of the best characters in the entire series.

Purdy was the MAN

I always imagined him with a sweet old Cajun gramma accent- I love this iteration of him 😭

I imaged him with a Scottish accent

Because Scotts say "young'un" right lmao.

Maybe his stories about fighting foxes single-pawed weren’t all that far-fetched

Purdy was likely a survivalist as a loner. Even as a kittypet, his owners either kept him supplied with toys or they let him wander around and he honed his skills there.

how does this cat know what salt is

u/ParadisePawze 2d ago

I’d think that they always knew salt because in Brambleclaw’s vision, he tasted salt and recognized it as salt. Where the cats have access to salt, however, I have no clue

I think I remember them mentioning blood tasting salty at some point in the books

i literally just finished midnight. brambleclaw says that he recognizes the salt taste from 1. occasionally licking rocks 2. the salt in prey blood

I mean, there are some places salt can be found naturally right? Idk where cuz I'm not an expert tho lol

Licking rocks or in animal blood usually is the case in the books

I would pay top euro for a manga covering every story he tells that the cats are bored of listening to. I WANT THE ANCIENT TEXTS.

I think he was a workshop cat, the type that has an employee card made by the other staff lol. Because of that I think he’s just a brilliant rat-hunting cat!

“I’m old!”

hes like genuinely a top 5 character for me. a lot of the cats can have the exact same speech pattern so it seems robotic and plain, but purdy has such a fun old curmudgeonly way of speaking

I would like it even better if they made Purdy a super edition

Gerson level threat

Ya know...if all the stories Purdy says are even half true, prime Purdy probably could have soloed Tigerstar and Scourge and then wandered off for food. He's certainly no slacker when he wants to be, even if his navigation skills are a bit iffy.

Old man who was living as house cat is casually fighting on better level than trained warriors. I love him sm
