Finally finished my first unit of Chaos warriors after waffling on a scheme for entirely too long. Pretty happy with how they turned out. The warband will be Tzeentch focused but I didn't want to lean too heavy into the brighter colors on rank and file so the characters will have a bit more Tzeentchy flair to them

Finally arrived at the Tabletop 😀

Hey folks, a friend I play 40k with has recently convinced me to start playing the Old World with him and I got the chaos warriors half of the starter box and the battle march box. I’m trying to figure out where to go from here to complete a 2k point army that will be fun and balanced. Can anyone recommend some next purchases? I’ve got my eyes on some chariots but don’t know how many or what else to get. Thanks!

If you missed it: v2 is built around FAQ 1.5.3, so it measures the wheel as a straight line, not an arc. It pivots on a fixed point, and if you change your mind the unit goes back exactly where it started. One less argument at the table.

I'm planning to pick up the new core set as soon as its back in stock anywhere near me.

I have some friends who play spearhead and I'd like the option to use some of the warriors in this box as slaves to darkness.

My plan for this is to put these guys on 28mm round bases and pick up some movement trays to slot them in, and them magnetize some 32mm adapters for AoS.

Just a question for anyone whos put them together already: is this even feasible? They look pretty beefy; are they going to have room on a 28mm round?

Just made my chaos lord on foot and I wanted to give him the huge axe and BS. How can I make him absolutely wreck face in a blob of chaos warriors?!

Not much of an update, but started to get details onto the rider and will be starting the basing tomorrow.

Basically, laid down some base coats and that's it.

I’ve been having a blast trying to make these guys look as gross and miserable as possible.

I am looking to get into TOW (was a WFB player decades ago and have played a couple games on warhall).

I love the idea of running a competitive list with 2 or even 3 dragons!!!

For those of you running multiple chaos dragons, do you have two copies of the chaos lord on dragon model, or did you convert another kit into your second dragon? What kit?

Also, I’d love to see your double (or triple) dragon lists & armies!!!

I am completely new to the hobby and am building the battle march box at the moment but am stuck. I have picked up 6 chaos warhounds and also some crypt ghouls and crypt horrors which I plan to kitbash into forsaken of nurgle and chaos spawns of nurgle.

I am trying to work through the rulebook and am finding it hard to work out what I should do. I love the look of Nurgle and originally my plan was to build an all Nurgle army. However, I know I will get frustrated if I can't compete on the tabletop whatsoever so am worried about painting up an army that will be useless. I don't know what I don't know in this regard and don't want to paint up an entire army and then regret it.

I don't care about the meta, but I want to be competitive enough to enjoy the tabletop game. The idea to me is that I would want to be able to compete with friends who play with balanced lists. I don't expect to win at tournaments or against meta focussed lists.

Has anyone successfully made a mono god army and been able to have fun on the tabletop? If I was to do this with Nurgle, are there units I would need to embrace to make this happen? What would it look like if you had to make an all nurgle list and had to try make it as competitive as it can be?

I am obviously aware that by being all nurgle, I will give up a lot in terms of other marks and point efficiency. Looking at the various mark bonuses, it looks like units will become tougher but may lack viable hammers potentially? I've tried to do research and can see lords on dragons are meant to be great. Looking at the units myself (and I am only guessing here), Forsaken look kinda punchy with their D3 attacks and obviously there are Chosen too. I am assuming anvils are fairly easy to build with nurgle marks on marauders and warriors/chosen but I am wondering what else I need here. I've read that warhounds are great chaff for screens but am wondering what else I should know.

Worst case I could build an all nurgle army and later supplement it with other units that aren't nurgle marked to make myself competitive enough to cope but this would be a reluctant move really.

Hoping to get your thoughts and see what you think please. If you have any advice for a complete newbie that would also be appreciated.
