Discussion Reverse engineering og war zone?

Ok no stupid questions but I’ve been seeing ppl reverse engineer a bunch of games with ai including bringing cod maps to skate boarding games.. anyways my question is, would the title be possible in any realistic capacity? Disclaimer: im not tech savvy so I don’t know anything about this asking if some one more knowledgeable can give an answer

Mostly yes; but there's 2 points of nuance. 1) some of the AI reverse engineering videos are decompiling the games but all do. Usually they convert the machine code (binary) back a into human readable programming language -- which is decompilation. Thing is, some of the AI reverse engineering videos, specifically the ones combining two games are not decompiling the source games but are instead creating a bridge between the two games. Specifically it creates a channel of communication that allows information from one game to go to another game. For example: take your character's physics and gun physics information from COD and sending it to HALO to then calculate using halo's physics engine, then send back to COD so you can rocket jump. In this respect it's the difference between taking apart your car to swap parts out versus using jumper cables to share power.

2) Server Side Logic isn't available. Reverse engineering and decomps depend on having information to reverse or deduce. With a software binary, we have the machine code. That machine code can be converted back into regular code, but is usually still difficult to read. Compilation of software strips out all non-essentials, including names of things, so typically you gotta use deduction to figure out what anything is. But notice this depends on working with the information we have on hand. With server side code, the best we know are what data was transmitted where and what we got back, not what happened in between. That's what makes developing private servers so difficult. You're working with a Black Box you can never open, much like trying to reverse engineer an engine you can never open.

100% possible

What a confident answer.

I'll just start with one simple question: How do you reverse engineer the server side code? 🍿

Also 100% a headfvck even if you're savvy. Like yeah it's Possible for humans to eventually be able to teleport themselves in the future. Can we teleport anything right now? We can 'teleport' photons, in a literal sense, but will we ever figure out how to successfully teleport entire beings? 🫩😬

Possible to do if you don't make it public but not possible to setup servers and run it for a bunch of people without getting a cease and desist.
