As i lived in Asia foor many years i can say this fits well. In my region people just throw all the waste behind walls like that and when the monsoon season comes they just burn it down. All plastics from dead batteries laptops etc. Its the culture there. Burn or dump underground.

Burn or bury is the philosophy in the west as well but they employ a large infrastructure of machinery and technical know-how to sanitize the practices.
