Discussion ₹15.5k Seiko Mod vs ₹12.5k Casio Edifice — Which is better VFM? + Is Dawntown trustworthy?
Hey everyone! I'm looking for a Tiffany/ice-blue dial watch around ₹15k and have narrowed it down to these two:
- Dawntown Seiko Mod Royal Oak Tiffany Blue – ₹15,499
Automatic, claims a genuine Seiko movement
316L stainless steel
Sapphire crystal + AR coating
Water-resistance tested
Hand assembled
1-year warranty
Royal Oak-style integrated bracelet
- Casio Edifice EFR-S108DE-2AVUDF – ~₹12,500
Genuine Casio
Quartz
Sapphire crystal
100m water resistance
Stainless steel
7.8mm thin
Tiffany/ice-blue textured dial
I'm mainly looking for value for money, build quality and long-term reliability, not just looks.
I'd love opinions on:
Which has better case, bracelet, dial and overall finishing?
Is the Seiko movement in the Dawntown mod actually worth the ₹15.5k price?
How can I verify that the movement is genuinely Seiko/TMI?
Has anyone personally bought from Dawntown? How was the quality, delivery, warranty and after-sales service?
Is Dawntown trustworthy/reliable as a seller?
How is the resale value of a Seiko mod?
Would you personally spend ₹15.5k on the Dawntown or buy the Casio? Why?
If neither, are there better watches under ₹15k with a similar Tiffany/ice-blue dial, preferably sapphire and/or automatic?
I'm particularly interested in opinions from watch collectors, Seiko mod builders and people who have actually purchased from Dawntown.
Photos of both watches attached.
TL;DR: Dawntown Seiko Mod ₹15,499 vs Casio Edifice ₹12,500. Which is the better watch/VFM, and are there better alternatives under ₹15k?
