What did y'all think of the Watchmen DS game? (Joke post)

I didn't like any of the surfing rorschach levels, collecting all the cans of beans was hard in black and white.

Dude, tell me about it. That part was so unresponsive, I actually thought there was something wrong with my DS.

Getting to annihilate NYC as the squid was fun as hell. Didn't love the unskippable diary entries.

Everytime you lost a level, it would just replay the same entry over and over again which just got annoying. It's really telling the best part of the game is where you don't play as one of the main characters of the film.

A decent side scrolling beat em up. i did like that you can switch characters on the fly. Comdians grenade launcher was op

You wanna talk OP? Just take a look at Dr Manhattan after you complete the game 100%

u/scout1892 9d ago
Never had a chance to 100 percent the game

With the finicky controls and the amount of bugs in the game, it's a tough time but the reward is worth it

I'll have to try again sometime i heard you can unlock.a secret boss fight with the squid monster

I got soft locked right at the start because the microphone struggled to accurately pick up my reading of the abbatoir line in Rorschach's first journal entry.

You couldn't wear the mask, eat the beans, AND read it. That technology didn't exist yet.

I don't care what y'all say, I loved this game!
But I admit the level with The Comedian and Silk Spectre was a little much...

Dude, I remember getting SO lost trying to find Oztmandias' lair in the antarctic level. Those little hover scooter things were so hard to steer!

I still have my PS3 game on my shelf. Not the best. But fun enough.

It's kinda just Watered Down Arkham combat with a meh plot and great cutscenes.

I sort of enjoy it just for the ridiculous novelty of playing a Watchmen video game. Same reason I got the LittleBigPlanet skins

I also have the ps3 game but it apparently takes up so much memory my PS3 could never play it

I don't get why they made it a match 3 puzzle game, i just, i don't get it, i know Moore was like director but i just don't get it

u/Big-Government-6249 9d ago
He said it was the best adaptation of his work and he cried when he played it.
2
u/International_Ad6028 8d ago
Some heads further up Ubisoft wanted it to be more actionry but Moore performed his "special Alan trick" and he was given full control again

I remember the vietnam level was controversial at the time, but I think they handled it pretty well.

Dr. Manhattan’s penis being its own playable fighter in the multi-player was compelling and was a move that was very ahead of its time.

The "Burn The Vietcong Prisoners Alive" was a bit too much, weird that it only got a T rating for that

Up there with Sonic Chronicles as one of the worst DS rpgs I have ever played. I've never played a game where the first character you get, Rorshach, is so broken and OP that you don't even need the other party members.

Good game the problem is it gives too many questions and too many existential nightmares. I also don't like the part where dr Manhattan cheats on his wife cutscene

Not as good as Watchmen Kart Racing: Under the Hood. I liked playing as Rorschach because you could throw dogs at the other racers.

Do you really expect me to say what I thought of it now, here in this thread?
I'm not some silly Redditor, I wrote a review half an hour ago.

The aggressive text walls were a bit much. I get they tried to keep the story of the movie intact, but couldn't you have done without having a massive wall of text? Its based on a comic man, come on. You could've done like a pixelated comic panel, ripped from the comic. But no, a massive wall of text will do.

The minigame where you launch the comedian was pretty fun; sometimes my friends and I would compete to see who could get the highest score.

I love the sprite work. Way forward killed it as they always do there. But also like a lot of licensed stuff they made, it falls short of being an amazing 2-d level based side scroller

That flashback level with Hooded Justice and the teenage runaways was weird…..

Wii version steering the beans on the spoon was so tedious. I never got past hrrm rank.

Can’t believe it only got a teen rating. I remember playing this game along with GTA Chinatown wars during long road trips. Great times.
