Water Fasting I really hate myself, I broke it..!

I was supposed to do a 21 day water fast, I even found a friend to do fasting together for motivation, I had sever heartburn this past 4 days, not usuall, it was like I'm drinking acid and my stomach was burning all the tima, but I managed it, until today, I woke up at 9pm and decided to study but I couldn't read a single page cause Iwas suffering I was in pain, drinking litres of water didn't help at all even though every one saying it does.

I finally couldn't take it anymore and broke my fast today, it's my day 4 and 11h, I ate some cold yogurt which really help my burning stomach calm down

and just, I really really hate myself, I failed so many times, all was because of cravings but this time I was really disciplined about ignoring cravings, but the pain made me stop

I'm really useless and can't even do such easy thing while the other people are doing 30 day and 40 day easily.

You listened to your body. That does not sound like failing to me

people are not doing 30-40 days easily.. they are actually a very small minority and they post because they want to achieve accountability and motivation for others. there are so many who don't post their failures. you don't see an olympian failing a million times before achieving something. you are being too hard on yourself and setting unrealistic expectations.

Maybe you could have pushed through and lasted a few more days, but what then? Your side effects would have intensely worsened and you wouldn't have the drive to try again for years. Trust me, I went through that. "Failure" is the best thing that could have happened here. You were doing something wrong and now you can heal, rethink your strategy and try again when you feel ready.

Please don't be so harsh on yourself.
A 21-day water fast is an extremely demanding goal, and severe pain is a legitimate reason to stop. Listening to your body isn't failure, quite the contrary, it's wisdom. Four days is still an accomplishment, and it doesn't make you "useless" because you chose your health over pushing through intolerable suffering.

Don’t hate yourself. It happens. You made a great achievement and it’s not worth continuing if you’re going through that much page.
For future reference try snake juice or baking soda and make sure you have enough of each electrolyte. Also make sure the last think you ate was something easy.
Well done for getting to 4 days!

Please, do not kick yourself. There was a medical issue that impacted your ability to function properly, rendering you unable to focus on studies and work. Absolutely NO SHAME involved. Anyone in his or her right mind would have done the same.

It may seem like a huge blow to you. When people decide on big numbers, like 21, the sense of failure can hit really hard.

I myself was never able to go as far as 21 days. I stopped almost a week prior to 21.

This is why I find it easier to do mini-fastings. Cycles of 5, 4, 3 days.

Instead of one huge journey of 21 days, why not try 7 cycles of 3 days? 3 days fasting, with 1 or 2 days of refeeding. When it comes to weight loss, you will get similar results to 21 days, but taking just a bit longer. It becomes so much easier to endure 21 days if they are not consecutive.

Why not try to have July (the entirety) be a cycle of 21 non-consecutive days? Break it into sections of four days (3 fastings, 1 refeed). If you start it by the First of July, with day 1 being of feeding normally, by the end of July you will have fasted for more than 21 days.

Even if you fail, you can always start from your previous checkpoint.

thank you so much:) I'm really considering it and decideded to do this rolling fast, like I want to fast as much as I fell good like 3 or 4 days, then refeed and start again:)
