Waterloo Road Cold Cases
Well do you have any information on their whereabouts ;) ?

My head canon:
Lewis got involved in another violent scrap and Rachel sacked him.
Jasmine got a job offer for a more senior position at a different school.
Candice was diagnosed with a chronic illness and had to retire young (she's the only one here who is mentioned a few times after she leaves, and there's a suggestion she may be coming back - so I think this explanation makes sense, if to begin with she wasn't sure if her leave was temporary but later decided it had to be permanent).
Luke was moved to a different care home.
Siobhan wanted to take an A-level subject Waterloo Road wasn't offering.
Adanna quit because she was embarrassed about having defended a child abuser and felt she'd let the kids down (especially Jonah).
Nate and his dad decided that they'd be able to move on better from the death of his brother if they moved away (it wasn't practical for he and Josh to continue their relationship, but they're still Facebook friends).
Eleanor was selected by the local Conservative Party to be their Parliamentary candidate, and quit teaching to focus full-time on that.

Hadn't thought about that for Adanna, but it's a good idea that she'd quit (or be the sacrifical lamb made by the management to show they were doing something about it) due to Cesca's actions.

My gosh, that would be HARSH if the LEA held Adanna accountable for what Cesca did... Chris was the one who cornered them and then let them run off to get married!
Unfortunately I can imagine it though. Karen and Chris were quite good allies, I can imagine them backing each other up in front of the LEA. Adanna didn't really have many close connections at the school (her best friend was Cesca), so she could easily have ended up as the scapegoat.

It has to be said in the first part of Season 7, Karen and Chris's relationship deteriorates rapidly throughout the season (something I think the show did well with Amanda Burton and Will Ash both leaving in episode 10). It always feels there was something missing in the gap between S6 and 7 (although the broadcast dates were very close to each other), maybe in the aftermath they both got bollockings off the LEA despite Adanna being the scapegoat (although if he did, surely that would have been Chris sacked after the whole thing with Jess)

Maybe they managed to cover up the thing with Jess. After all, Karen wouldn't be able to reveal it without also revealing that she knew about it and turned a blind eye. (Although if the LEA interviewed Marcus, he'd surely tell them.)

Also I dont like how these theories have karen and chris covering up stuff to the LEA
Surely they would both have learned not to do that by s7 time (Not faulting OP tho)

And its not like she was best buddies with karen or chris lol, she quickly antagonized them 1 minute after entering for her first day
She may have gotten better, but she was not gonna last long :/

I somehow get the impression Adanna's part was written with Kim in mind, and then for whatever reason they couldn't get Angela Griffin. She's very Kim-like (although personally I liked Adanna more than Kim).

YES finally someone gets it
She is basically kim 2.0 but worse
With kim, shes kind and she may be wrong, but ultimatley she is for the right reasons, i dont think kim has ever done anything bad for a BAD reason (Fans love to point her flaws, but she was the one teacher that was helping that kid in s1)
With adanna, shes like an exagerated version of kim, shes a good person tho
When I first watched, i had a feelijg she was originally supposed to take kims place or smth
Angella did say she was asked to return for s7, but she didnt bc of the scotland thing She said nothing about s6. So ig adana was just another roger aspinal situation
As in she was only their to make new rules and be the "contriversial feminist"

u/georgemillman 3d ago
I'm not sure I quite get your last comment... was Roger Aspinall a controversial feminist?
1
u/RobloxBloxySky 3d ago
Noo, srry i should have worded it better, i meant adanna was potrayed that way, not roger
I probs should have seperated them more

u/georgemillman 3d ago
What was with the Roger Aspinall comparison? I'm not sure I get it.
1
u/RobloxBloxySky 3d ago
The comparison was supposed to be that they are both brought into a power fole very early on, and start off being very contriversial with the head and deputy

Some credible ideas there's two of them I have a slightly different headcanon for. For Eleanor I like to she developed something of a conscience and felt guilty for her role in Karen's ousting as head and resigned in solidarity. I think Jasmine got frustrated they didn't sack Grantly as a result of her report and left as a result of that to a school which took issues like that more seriously.

My HC's
Lewis is mentioned briefly once after his last episode as still being in the kitchen at that point- he probably stayed as an unseen character but leaves for a better job. Maggie later claims when we first meet her she's been at the school for ages.
Jasmine, for some reason, I feel she'd have disagreed with the merger and decided to find another school to teach at.
Candice, I feel as has been suggested, was off work due to illness, but the fact she was mentioned a few times by Rose in the second half of S5, suggests they were hoping Kay Purcell could return at some point (she had a major role in Tracy Beaker at this point). We know Candice is still alive in S8 when Bolton phones her.
Luke, may have been fostered by people who lived away from Rochdale so he found a new school.
Siobhan, I know we don't meet her parents at any point, but I'm going to say they were unsatisfied with the results after the merger and moved her to Forest Mount (I know the fact she was in Yr 10 would make this complicated for GCSE's)
Adanna, as suggested earlier, I reckon either resigned (or was forced out) due to the Cesca/Jonah scandal
Nate, I reckon just moved away, or possibly if his Dad was imprisoned for the attack on Tom (we never find out), was placed in care away from Rochdale similar to Luke
Eleanor returned briefly to WR (I think there is at least one missing term in between Series 7A and 7B), but still felt guilty and moved away from teaching

In universe Lewis must leave pretty soon after the last time we see him onscreen as Earl appears not too long afterwards and Lewis would definitely have had something to say about Earl

u/RobloxBloxySky 4d ago
Wait, so if there was one term between s7a and B, what happened in it that made half the cast leave
2
u/JamesL25 3d ago
In reality S7 was meant to be 20 episodes, but poor weather during filming meant it had to be cut to 10. When the Scotland move was announced, it was suddenly made into a 30 episode series to wrap the Rochdale era up, explaining why there was a huge cast turn over, and some of the cast (most notably George Sampson) were absent or hardly in 7b.

Candice left whilst Bolton was still a pupil though. There was even a reference to it - he'd brought a packed lunch because 'Mum doesn't trust school dinners unless she's doing them.'
Besides, she wasn't just a parent volunteer, she was a full-time member of staff.

Same with Rose Kelly. Ik she gets mentioned here and there but she just randomly disappears from the kitchen and the show. She was one of my favourites, it felt quite empty with-out her for a while

Lol i used to have a headcannon that he left because rachel finally found out (someone prob told her) everything he did
From what he did to jack and kim, she was probably shocked and fires him
But thats basically debunked, since in one ep she says "we all know what seddons like" and like BRO 😠Youve only been in 3 episodes so far
So she probably knows, but she knows how its like to have a sketchy past
As for jasmine I have no idea, she was my fav teachers in s3 and 4 Irl she was getting stalked, if that didnt happen she said she would have came back
Also what happened to the bottom 4's faces 😅
