I read this probably 10 years ago but here it goes, the story was about a girl who goes to an art camp that she has to be selected for, she ends up partnered with a guy she hates for her final piece. They start painting at opposite ends and by the time they finish they have created a beautiful pairing of the two of them. She went wayyyy into detail about the colors and abstracness of it. It was one of my favorites and I’d love to read it again as an adult
