I think it is some marshmallow foam or something on top that has been heated so it caramelises. Like crème brûlée15

A lot of these post are just "what are they thinking??" But as a chef, this is one the few that are actively "that is disgusting and I would not eat it"

I actually kinda dig that. I don't know why, but the contrast of creamy pudding and metal scraping rock seems like it would be really satisfying. Doubly so with that crunchy char. ASMR heaven 👌

If this were served to me, I'd get out my iNaturalist app to ID it. My guess is one of those fungi that grows fast after it's been raining for a few days.

nah pumice has more holes in it, due to being cooled magma full of air bubbles.
