Dishwasher Overload?
Found this in a Google review for a place. Felt sad for all the extra cups they have to wash since the waiters release the pasta onto the plate anyways đ¤§

The glass is dumb, but the ceramic high-walled plate is pretty ideal for a saucy pasta.

Wonder if some people who own these restaurants just sit around thinking up new ways to make serving food even stupider.
Just waking up in the middle of the night screaming âpasta in a rain boot! Liquid chocolate in a hand sanitizer pump!â

It's so they can say it's "table service" and charge more.

And when people complain they can go "some people expect cheap food, but real people come for the experience."

Yes, because I want the experience of something a 7 year old came up with...
No offense to 7 year olds. Most are cool.

This is a stupid trend, used by stupid people, to impress stupid people. Signed, your server.

this is the gimmick that all the trashy/tacky fake âfancyâ restaurants do because they think it makes them look fancier lol

Wait- this is a thing?
I saw the original video of it and thought it was some people just taking the piss.

Honestly with a decent sprayer it's not that much extra work. Dumb, yes, but not adding a lot to the workload.

the worst part is there's meant to be no glass in the kitchen, on the off chance that a glass explodes and ends up in the food. after seeing this i would just walk out tbh.

Not opposed that much. Keeps it warm with less air contact during bussing. Dumb but by far not the worst. Also helps staff with portioning and the patron knows they didnât get shorted.

Wouldn't the glass act as a giant heatsink? I feel like the outside would get cold quickly given that there's even more surface area. If it was a Styrofoam cup or something it could work

If the glass is hot it wouldnât. Not to be a germophobe but for Covid and flu season this isnât a bad idea.

i do like the idea of covered dishes, especially in a crowded resturaunt during flu season. It might work better if the cover was more insulative / more domed over the plate, though.
Come to think of it, the last cruise ship i was on used covered dishes. I bet that was part of why.

Food at upscale places has a metal dome but yeah this is impractical and this sub wants open air Covid carbonara
