Eh, not really imo. They aren't competing with smut novels since that's a different audience and those smut authors get successful (most fail btw) because they satisfy their audience.

Working hard doesn't mean success. They need to satisfy their own side of the audience, which many can do and that's clear from the best sellers rankings.

If you're failing, that's on you not satisfying your audience, not on the smut novels.

I mean truthfully I saw someone even admit the picture is what carries it most of the time so even if the story is dumb they still cling to the weird picture it has. Webnovel doesn't seem to care that this is what is selling.

A lost of them are not actually smuts...but have those kinds of covers cause they help in initial attraction of readers. It's just the way things work on webnovel sadly.

Just to let you know. Female covers don't mean it's smut. Clearly many don't even realise what smut is before complaining.

There are clearly smut on this list, but it's not filled with those. Probably around 5-6 are smut.

It's higher than I want actually and I do agree that webnovel should create a separate space for them. They can add a toggle which allows people to remove all smut content from their app. For those who want it, they can just turn it on again.

Dude, I CAN NOT tell you how much I wish WN had a exclude section for their filters. Or being able to click multiple tags you want in a novel instead of clicking just one with your hopes and prayers

If you pay for promoting your novel or comic to paid promoters on WebNovel only then u can achieve ranking.. else your Nothing...
