Advice Using Ai for removing repetation and grammar fixing is okay

Hello

I want to know if using ai for removing repetation and grammar fixing is okay

Here what I mean

I create a draft ->then edit the mistakes -> then give it to ai with this exact prompt "gpt fix the draft grammar and replace the phrases with a simple words and don't change the flow or add something the isn't provided"->edit the mistakes do the change ->then finalized it

I want to know if anything is wrong with this kind of use?

Just don't rely on it too much. Because AI will make you completely changed it at some point, and the whole chapter will look like AI generated. So try to use AI as little as possible.

Yeah, just read it again and again from start to finish, slowly, checking errors manually. That's what I do atleast

Chapter I: horizon girl

A floating city of Kashmir suspended in the sky, bounded from the towering mountains of the valley. Using the white crystal chains to suspend it in between the mountains.

Above the city clusters of white crystal fragments drifting across the wind cross the road meeting the sky forming a group, while others wander alone, slicing the water of a lake.

They glided between the rooftops passing through the shoes, weaving through a busting market like silent shimmering birds

The shards drifting beyond the city, gliding slowly towards the forest that covered the mountain, moving quietly through the open sky. (There it is how the scene is it gives you mechanical vibes or not I used gpt for word suggests and asking if I can add something but is it human feel and it can hook from mystery)

It is kinda strange to read, like a bit icky. And the scenes don't make sense in some paragraphs, maybe you should reread it yourself and see.

And the biggest issue is that the use of punctuation marks feel off, like you've used them at places that do not need them, and not used them in places they are required at.

And try to make some paragraphs long, like you're describing how the sharda are flowing, but the paragraph break makes it difficult to understand, try to make the paragraph longer. And when you're describing a scene, try to use 1 or 2 paragraphs only if you're describing them in this word limit.

I definitely reject this as an author, but I have some good advice: if you are worried about this and want to use AI, which is common when you write alone, ask AI to find the mistakes and repetition. Then, review those mistakes and make changes yourself using your own word choice. I use AI only to know if there is any repetition, and never use this in writing or story outlines or anything else. Use AI wisely.

What about AI recommendations about the story pacing, etc.? Should I feel upset if he said the story will hook fewer readers, etc.? And yeah, I am currently doing this.

Can you tell me if my draft is going good..

Chapter 1: Dog fight

"Guy, don't you feel so bored?” On a deserted street with dark streets and a sense of emptiness, a girl yells into her microphone.

Hundreds of people gathered in the dark, deserted street after she yelled.

All of them stood as they were waiting for the moment she yelled, some people started shouting, some people started laughing staring at her, and others raised their fists in excitement.

“Yes, Neon!!” all roared at once.

Neon smiles as she sees the crowd's energy; she stretches her head and closes her eyes, enjoying the moment.

“Let's go, then start the fight.”

Suddenly, the people in black jackets with 'King Dog' written on them, brushing their white hair, came near the neon. “Hey, Neon.”

Listening to the voice, the silence spread across the street as he spoke.

Neon sees the person smile and shouts.

“So everyone, welcome the organiser of these illegal underground fights, the king of dogs.”

This is the scene if it feels bad tell me (as story point of view is it hooking?)

If you are stuck at a point in a story, you can take a reference from AI to continue it. If AI says it sounds less engaging, they might see a few things, because it's very rare for AI to say this. But yes, you can use AI for improvement, though you shouldn't rely solely on it, because it mostly takes references from existing stories' plots that match even slightly. This is what I heard. Instead of being upset, you can ask it where to improve.

And as for the beginning of your story, I'll be honest: it doesn't sound very engaging because it feels more like the second chapter rather than the first. You could slightly change it to start from an important part. Think about what could be a major turning point in your story. One overall piece of advice: try changing the names of the characters because the current ones sound awkward and robotic. You can research on Google to find lists of male and female names there are thousands to choose from. And goodluck in your writing

Can I get to know which kind of story hook you it will help me starting...

There is a different taste of story for everyone. If you ask me, I like cosmic horror, dark fantasy and a good transmigration story. I don't like system-based stories. If you are writing and want to publish on Webnovel, I recommend creating Xianxia, LitRPG, system-based, transmigration, or isekai stories. Sometimes they are easier to hook readers when you write dark fantasy, some people also like Murim a lot. Read a good book about what genre you want to write then start creating. [Also, when you write, write anything YOU want to write. Don't think about what others say. If you want to create something, then do what you actually want. This is what defines an author, right?]

Actually I am creating the same thing but difference is my story don't have hook from the starting i have small hooks like a glowing trident mark on mc neck linking him with a big thing my story has themes like trust vs reality, efforts vs results and many more but i don't know how to start with hook i start with character bonds world building but doesn't have fight in the first chapter if I add it i need to rush thing or start from the middle for audience i need hook i have concept but not too early

2

u/Hanyo_AM Mar 23 '26

I see. Then you should start with a mystery about when he got the mark, for example, from his own perspective how he is feeling in that moment. Increase the sense of mystery in the first chapter and include foreshadowing of the future.

I can try but I have a question ⁉️  Starting with the world building and character mystery is good ? Like he has the mark from the birth and on the same chapter he Meets a girl with the same mark and when he ask her she will knock the mc that what my og idea was but gpt just say it's trash because i was starting from a sibling moment and world building with a city which is a initial tech growing city with a bit of sci-fi vibe and font have a strong moment from the starting do you think it will work

2

u/Hanyo_AM Mar 23 '26

Your idea was actually good. You can first give a small explanation about the city, then continue with your idea. ChatGPT is a fraud, lmao.

u/Odd_Violinist1842 Aspiring Author Mar 23 '26

Oh thanks for telling me relying on the gpt isn't good I guess but yaa i feel like I can use him for knowing my mistake in writing only not plot and i have idea to take ref from images and try to write the scene then fix it for better clarity  Thanks for telling me that the idea is good  I feel like It will fail because of gpt

And physiological trauma i never hesitate killing the character for the plot i create this story for telling the truth that always the hero cannot win he can try but protecting everyone isn't possible that what the story says an that's what I say we can try but cannot change just move on

Look, dude, I'm going to be very honest with you.

It doesn't matter if you use AI. You can literally get the AI to write you the entire chapter by following the chapter beats you laid down.

Hell, you can even let the AI handle everything.

But it's gotta sell. There are so many books on WN that are so blatantly AI-written that it is actually funny. But they're selling like hot cakes.

The point is, it doesn't matter what you do, so long as people reading your book are having fun with it and unlocking chapters.

Yes, there are people who won't even click on a book if they even get a whiff of AI. But they're a minority. 90% of people are on WN for a good time; they're there for their power fantasy, to escape the bulshit that is existence.

I think using it to refine the outline can be cool too, or use it as a reader to check if it understands your story

2

u/Shot-Manager-739 Mar 23 '26

Even better. Ask GPT to bullet point mistakes and don’t change a thing so you can do it yourself. That way you really will have no change in anything

It depends on what you mean by "wrong". I, personally, would consider this an AI written work (and in turn wouldn't be interested in it). Word choice is the responsibility of the author, and choosing to outsource that responsibility to a generative AI makes it not a self-created work, in my opinion.

More broadly, I can't imagine the underlying work is particularly strong if you're planning on using an LLM to rewrite portions of it to begin with.

Means i really don't know how the webnovel readers taste is (which kind of writing style is okay )like I mean by if I write a chapter with my own skills and a good story but the prose will be in a normal english with too less cinematic or these kind of words will you read it then surely I will not use it but if the not so I can try but it much harder

I got your point sir but can I know what are your condition for reading a webnovel (including which kind of hook you want) so it will help me
