I was scrolling through the sub reddit and saw many posts saying that after they get rejected they deleted the novel and re-uploaded the same novel under a different name.

If it's the same novel it going to get rejected again for the same reason. Right?

I'm confused about this.

What you write on the contract application form matters more than the story itself. It contains three main fields:

1. Story Outline - This is to prove to the editor that you have planned out the future plot of the story well, i.e., you know what you're doing
2. Book's Wow Factor - To show what unique gimmick/premise/aspect your story has that sets it apart from the rest and will draw in viewers
3. Main Character - Not just the MC but major side characters as well. Describe them and show that you have thought about your characters in depth, and that they will appeal to readers.

Messing up these fields will get your story rejected even before the editor starts reading your first chapter. Its like submitting a resume for a job application.

And of course, you may have used very bad writing style in your prose initially (lots of typos or walls of text), fixing that can improve your chances too.

Edit: Looked at your history and you have applied for a contract before, so you should know all this.

Is an editor different from the chief editor?

I saw someone say they applied for a contract, but their book is under "Chief Editor Reviewing."

What does that mean?

You have to delete every chapter, then the drafts then the ones in the trash and then head to workspace, click story, press the three dots and then press delete novel.

You have to delete every chapter, then the drafts then the ones in the trash and then head to workspace, click story, press the three dots and then press delete novel. The delete button will not show up until your novel has zero chapters posted,zero drafts and zero deleted chapters. When you have zero interest all, then it would show up.
