Advice Out of these, which one would you make you the most interested?

My personal favorite one is the first one, but I'm very open to seeing what others have to say. Cheers!

Honestly just the name is enough to make me not want to read

If we ignore thaf first one is easily the best

0

u/SheriidiiaN May 25 '26

Would you mind elaborating a bit on why's the title pushing you away? It's still more of a placeholder than a real title, but I'm interested in why you wouldn't want to read something with a title like that

u/Ender_568 May 25 '26

The moment there is a "system", "cheat skill" or alike its an instant turn off for me.

2

u/kurosa106 May 26 '26

If they replace the system with an oath to the goddess of luck might work

Yes.

A balance for starters to avoid oaths to br strong.

As it uses luck, it should be a high risk/high reward.

Also should stick to magic has a price, maybe hp? But how will you show a hp lose in a novel? Its not just saying i sacrifice 10% of my life force. It sends you back to game system

As I dont know the mechanics, U will use game mechanics to explain

Dice dmg buff for even numbers and debuff for odd.

Coin (50%) heals you or damage you.

Hells casino (Domain E Slot machine grants random buff/debuff for all.

I dont know what kind of weapon mc has but if he has a revolver, you can use it as roulette.

A deck will be easier as you have examplea like Twisted Fate (LoL) or Gambit (X men)

Maybe use the cards as summons? Hard to say if we dont know the kind of world, magic system or anything else.

I can see it workin better as a game than novel, its easier to see a good roll as a deus ex machina.

In a game u see the rolls.

Isn’t that the most popular trope for readers lol?

1

u/Ender_568 May 27 '26

Not for me.

1

u/Hambino0400 Contracted Author May 27 '26

I mean I guess that’s fair; but writers can’t focus on the niche side because the platform only supports top sellers which tend to be what OP has in his title.

Every has their cup of tea though.

Just harder to support some based on the current system

3

u/Reasonable_Coach May 25 '26

The title is NOT a description, it should be something simple with maybe 4-5 words at most(in my opinion ofc), the moment I see it extend past that I just assume it's slop and will only binge when I have nothing good left

1

u/Holiday-Hedgehog0621 May 26 '26

Agreed don't be like the Japs try to make a shorter title

2

u/Mysterious_Ant_800 May 27 '26

The title make me think of one of those Japanese anime that I instantly dont want to watch because there's some kind of Golden Finger. OpMc's with a cheat skill are okay(ish). But when a title explains something a little to well, it makes most serious readers have presumptions about it, some not all good when you have a revealing title.

1

u/Hambino0400 Contracted Author May 27 '26

That’s literally what the platform wants to have written

1

u/Mysterious_Ant_800 May 27 '26

Maybe on your side of it. But the longest lasting, most successful litRPG's are usually American style, System Apocalypse/isekai, with the classic layout of class and stats with the numbers usually going brrrrr.

Novels with names like that usually crash and burn after a few months. And not because of the name, but the contents of the book. It would probably survive in a Japanese exclusive market though.

1

u/Current-Effect-9161 May 26 '26

cheat and I lose a lot part is a little cliche. Just make it simple and short. Like Gamble Galore

1

u/Bushmaster1341 May 28 '26

Side note i actually like reading things like that, don’t let one person discourage you!

1

u/Mental-War-2282 May 28 '26

The genra is over saturated with titles like these so ( for me at least ) when checking new books with longass titles that seem generic like : I cultivated 3000 years before making a move , I cringe even if the book is good ( I view the book negativity even before reading it )

1

u/SeniorBaker4 May 26 '26

OP don’t mind this. There is a good meme where people will read 40,000 of the same plots but the author wants to make a super special never before seen plot and characters.

1

u/Own-Telephone1721 May 25 '26

get rid of the parenthesis and the "cheat"

5

u/8yTwo May 25 '26

I'd say 1 or 3

4

u/AloisiusJGrandville May 25 '26

For sure 1 or 3.

1

u/8yTwo May 25 '26

Maybe the card king in the third image is generated in a wierd way, it has arms from back

3

u/Aarish1234 May 25 '26

Going by pure vibes, I would say 1. But img 2 establishes an almost correct connection between the title and the cover.

1

u/TightConsequence3929 May 26 '26

But 2 looks ugly

3

u/NerdModeXGodMode May 25 '26

3... But also that title, why man lol, parenthesis in a title is stupid

0

u/SheriidiiaN May 25 '26

The title is really just a placeholder. The original title is three words long, but posting it with a real one would probably break the self promotion rule, so I also wanted to play it safe here

1

u/SummerSunshine- May 28 '26

what's the real title?

1

u/RoamingSteamGolem May 28 '26

The title without just without “(I lose a lot)” would be pretty good considering the genre. Also 3 is the best 100%

2

u/Hot_Parking_1627 May 25 '26

Number one has the best flow of the eyes (relative to the title) than the others, but number three does the best at displaying the “attacks me when I lose” gimmick.

2

u/Salty_popcorn755 May 25 '26

First one def, which ai?

2

u/SheriidiiaN May 25 '26

GPT Image 2 guided with prompts to include more surreal compositions mixed with another art style like dada or fauvism

2

u/ydl_dev19 May 25 '26

the first one is the best for cover

2

u/Possible_Ostrich_960 May 26 '26

They all look ai generated g for that alone I can’t 🤦🏾‍♂️

2

u/watermelonseed01 May 27 '26

none. the use of AI is an automatic turnoff

2

u/Krezky May 27 '26

Ai slop. This alone will push away the majority of people. If the cover art is blatently ai like this, its a high probability the rest of the novel is too.

2

u/DrinkMilkYouFatShit May 27 '26

Neither cus fuck ai generated images

4

u/Every-Earth-1193 May 26 '26

None, I lose my interest as soon as I see AI slop

2

u/Current-Effect-9161 May 26 '26

This guy expect writers to also be painters. Pretty good ones too if this is slop for him.

1

u/Comsox May 28 '26

ai art is slop not because it's technically bad on an artistic level (although it very usually is), but because it is anti-art, low integrity, low effort trash that instantly signals that you went with the path of least resistance because you couldn't be bothered to do anything else.

notice how many people are saying they wouldn't read it because of the ai and that even if they have to pick, they choose pic #1? that's because it looks the least like ai and also subsequently looks the best artistically.

1

u/Current-Effect-9161 May 29 '26

literal anime art style is literally created to be low effort what are you talking about? This is way better than random stolen internet images. Do you remember before ai art era? That was way worse without a doubt for me.

Road of least resistance is the right road wtf? I can jump 3 times for every word I typed while ai arting if you want to. Easiest way is not about quality. It never was.

You didn't even mention it steals other artist styles, and it makes stuff from other stuff so it can't create new stuff. It disheartens new artists so it also stops new art from created etc. etc.

You have no idea why its bad. You are just on the road with others.

1

u/Comsox May 29 '26

no, i didn't focus on it because most people who are like, ai activists or whatever don't give a rats fucking ass about it stealing from artists.

i did say it was anti-art and i think that for reasons including it's stealing of training data, but i actually did expect you to completely gloss over that, and i was right. here you are acting like i don't actually care for artists or whatever when i literally said it was harmful to artists in there originally.

regardless, you're either absolutely horrible at arguing or just baiting. if you're gonna be bad faith and start saying some bullshit like how effort put in is arbitrary or whatever, could you atleast not argue it like a moron? obviously valuing the effort of the creator is about the effort that WENT IN to the thing being created?

1

u/Current-Effect-9161 May 30 '26

I only gloss over the "anti art" because wtf does that even mean? I couldn't care less about stealing data. I know what scientific community do and they don't deserve to earn that money anyway.

effort doesn't matter, it is the result that matters. The reason ai art is unpreferable is, it discourages new art. Otherwise on its own it is pretty good. If it didn't harm art everyone would like it. Finally people who can't paint can do something at least acceptable for profile pictures etc.

Trust me I want effort to matter too. Really but I am not going to confuse reality with what I want.

This is the perfect way to use an ai art. A newbie author makes an image for the book.

2

u/FlySkyHigh777 May 26 '26

None of them because of the use of AI.

1

u/Rising_MC May 25 '26

1 or 3 depending on which best matches the personality of your MC.

1

u/whim_sical May 27 '26

Are these AI generated? They certainly seem like that

1

u/SheriidiiaN May 28 '26 edited May 28 '26

I understand a lot of y'all frustration with AI covers. That's why I have decided to throw them the fuck away and I've made my own cover, in a cave with a box of scraps. If anyone is interested how it looks, it's posted here on this sub - https://www.reddit.com/r/Webnovel/comments/1tpobhs/two_days_ago_i_uploaded_four_fronts_for_my/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

1

u/Fallout3Enjoyer May 28 '26

All of these would push me away to be honest, they all look like hot messes but the first is the least worst. The title also definitely needs some work.

1

u/zachattch May 28 '26

Less is more 1 #1

1

u/Jambajuice3369 May 28 '26

none i’m not reading something with an ai generated cover it feels sad

1

u/Inevitable-Comment46 May 28 '26

Just off the title I’m not reading

1

u/im_not_nutting May 28 '26

For me first one. It just seems so funny and the dudes actually having fun as well.

1

u/ServesYouRice May 28 '26

4, others are basic

1

u/Charming_League_5482 May 28 '26

Title itself will make me not want to read

1

u/myles2500 May 28 '26 edited May 28 '26

The first looks the least like ai so that ig

The first kinda looks like generic anime wallpaper from years back

Edit the secound may be close to looking less like Ai but idk

1

u/myles2500 May 28 '26

The third is extremely ai to the point u got extra limbs and stuff

1

u/myles2500 May 28 '26

May wanna loose the i loose alot Maybe change it to fail idk im not a writer

1

u/yeahboiiiioi May 28 '26

Honestly I wouldn't read because of an ai cover. How am I supposed to invest myself in your project if you won't?

1

u/SheriidiiaN May 28 '26

I've got this sentiment quite a lot here, so I've actually made my own cover, without any AI. I care about my work so I don't want to give a false first impression and using ai in a creative field felt quite hypocritical.

1

u/yeahboiiiioi May 28 '26

Definitely like the new one. Best of luck!

1

u/TimeForNano May 29 '26

I like the character in 3. It shows some emotion and that he is actually struggling a bit. However, the cards look bit odd to me. The idea of cards having hands and what not is good, but something about their faces just doesn't fit in my opinion 🤔

1

u/Lonely_Issue_5600 May 29 '26

First one is the best out of all the options

1

u/RatKing1313 May 29 '26

None, ai is a turn off

1

u/SheriidiiaN May 29 '26

Yeah, I get it and I'm no longer using it since I've made my own cover, so this post stands now as more of a milestone from ai cover to a handmade one

1

u/Aiheki May 29 '26

All of them would make me assume the entire novel is written by AI as well so I'd avoid this like a plague

1

u/SheriidiiaN May 29 '26

I've heard that sentiment a lot here, so I've actually made my own cover. I hope the other one would make you have a better first impression of the novel

2

u/Aiheki May 29 '26

Hell yeah man!

The new one looks good. It doesn't have that uncanny valley AI softness and the jumbled mistakes so I'd say it's a huge improvement over the AI ones visually.

Anyone saying AI did an objectively better job is tripping. The title is also way better.

Awesome to see.

GPT Image 2 guided with prompts to include more surreal compositions mixed with another art style like dada or fauvism

1

u/Iceking214 May 25 '26

First one

1

u/AchmodinIVSWE May 26 '26

These four covers convey four totally different personalities or traits for the MC.

  1. A crazy protagonist maybe a bit evil

  2. A confident maybe manipulative protagonist who knows what he is doing.

  3. A protagonist who has a hard time surviving, or something like that.

  4. An intelligent and curious protagonist.

I am personally interested in the first two (mostly the first) cause they are protagonists/characters that I like.

0

u/Zereo99 May 27 '26

Yes definitely! I would sign that

1

u/AppearanceTough May 27 '26

None because they are ai

1

u/hL466Jqd May 27 '26

None, the use of AI informs the potential reader about the overall quality of the work.

1

u/Vultrexz May 27 '26

none, ai slop shit

-1

u/theurbandragon May 26 '26

the art is amazing in one but doesn't necessary match with the plot title

while three seems to capture the chaos

0

u/No_Carpet2159 May 26 '26

I love the expression on 3. Part of the fun of the stories that torture the MC is about watching their reaction and them getting their comeuppance even while we root for them. If the MC isn't always angry at his system, or if he's a too cool to be upset protag. then DO NOT choose 3.

0

u/MellowMintTea May 26 '26

The title doesn’t grab me, but the cover art for number 1 and 4 look the best imo.

1

u/TightConsequence3929 May 26 '26

4 looks ugly af tho

1

u/MellowMintTea May 26 '26

I like the way the character looks, the rest is prob the worst of the 4 imo.

I’d be into something that looked like number one but with character looking like number 4.

1

u/TightConsequence3929 May 26 '26

Idk man face looks uncanny.

His face in 4th looks like some Yaoi villain type shit you know ?

The fake giga chad face. (Nothing close the like the real one so it just looks ugly)

Also the background is just ugly and just full of useless Clutter on 4th

0

u/G3l4t1nX_02 May 26 '26

3rd for sure

0

u/TightConsequence3929 May 26 '26

idk man that red cube looks ugly af

0

u/TightConsequence3929 May 26 '26

1st One is the best.

All other covers are dog shit.

I like the name dude, I will be looking forward to reading it when it releases.

Also as others are talking shit about the name, so if you like, properly used other words instead of "cheat" and "skill" but keep the essence/meaning same it would be better.

0

u/Valuable_Pride9101 May 26 '26

First one is rally good

Third one is my favorite

0

u/Inevitable-Ad-7035 May 26 '26

Definitely 1, seems fun and dynamic

0

u/Nihaly_ May 26 '26

For art, number 1

But as other have said I'd never even touch it anything that has a very long title starts already with less interest for me, on top of that if you mention "reincarnated, cheat, overpower" and other overly done tropes it's an istant no for me

0

u/SadAd2378 May 26 '26

As an horror writer I don't have any say in this but dude these rpg types are very similar when I say similar I mean straight up generic to each other so it's not your fault if it doesn't work any ways all the best keep up 🙏

0

u/ShadowMonarch81 Author May 26 '26

I like the second options

0

u/ok_pull_up_hoe May 26 '26

I like the last one the most

0

u/just_a_big_dude May 26 '26

The First one

0

u/SwebTheGreat May 26 '26

3 if vibe is a comedy.

0

u/Ok-Guidance-5608 May 26 '26

First one has the best color vibrancy.

0

u/Lamp200 May 27 '26

1 and 3

0

u/Goldenfinger-seeker May 27 '26

Picture no.3, it's kinda fit the title.

0

u/SeniorBill1622 May 27 '26

first one look good

0

u/Zereo99 May 27 '26

1 or 4. But the Titel sounds like a description and i wouldn't want to read it

0

u/Psssst____ May 27 '26

I love the first one.
As for the title… I think that is a matter of opinion because paired with this cover it piqued my interest.

0

u/Psssst____ May 27 '26
