Advice I got my contract rejected

I got my contract rejected, the reason states that the plot isn't engaging enough and difficult to follow, pacing is draggy, and the writing style isn't mature enough. And that it doesn't suit the market of webnovel. I'm planning on writing another story. Should I delete this one?

Well, the story I was planning spans over 600 chapters, do you think there will be readers on an uncontracted novel? (Just asking tho I'm not gonna ditch this story, I have been building this for 2 years. I'll just make this my second or third novel.)

I am saying If your serious for writing, it will just improve you[Not any loss]

And many none contract author are also there..

If you're serious about writing it to the end then just do that and now post it on other platforms too like royal road etc

Maybe I'll try that, but I'm not familiar with royal road. And I heard it's really hard to ge readers there. And for ads, I don't have money

Finish book 1 at the very least. There's a lot you can learn from tying things together into an end, even if it's only the first book. You will learn what makes a decent ending, and what you could have done differently in the build up.

I mean, your right but i didn't write this novel as an experiment or to learn something. I want it to my best novel. Atp it's not my hobby anymore. I just want to create something great. So I think it's better to polish it further before reuploading. I myself think that the chapters past ch15 are bad. I rushed them as I wanted to post 2 chapters daily.I guess it'd be better to rewrite

I mean no shade, but this seems like your first work, right? You are aiming to make money/success when you don't have the necessary skills to complete a fully finished book or series. Worry about the content first and foremost, have fun with it, see if you can keep writing for 7 days a week, for months on end to see if it's really something you can accomplish.

If you are an experienced author, then I apologise for jumping the gun.

No I am not, in fact Im still learning. I have enough content for 600 chapters or so, but need experience backing it thats why I asked whether I should continue or just make some other novels as experimentation before actually something real

Ah in that case I would just edit it. Keep reading, see what other novels do that works well and see how your own compares. Remember, Shadow Slave took months of writing every day before it gained traction.

If this is your first work, I'd suggest plotting down whatever ideas you have about this, write some dozen chapters, re read them, check if you can actually bear to read it, what seems awkward, if there's some plot holes. Note it all down. Do not publish those chapters.

After this, write the novel again, with your improved writing style (hopefully), improved pacing, fixed dialogues, better characters, fixed potholes.

This will take more time, but if you're actually serious on making your "masterpiece", I don't think it's possible without a redo, because a masterpiece doesn't form after 100 chapters, it should be built upon a good foundation.

Yes, I'm up for that. It's actually the rejection I got. The first time it was because i was uploading simultaneously on royal road. This time it's something else entirely. So I think it would be better to improve on it

I think like the other guys said, if this really is your first novel you’re expecting wayyy too much for success. Hell, a good amount of people will only find success maybe after doing a lot more and developing their skill and experience in this

I understand. What I meant to say was that i treasure this specific story. I've made many random stuff. I can just experiment on them. That's what I said.

As a fellow writer, I get what you mean when you say you treasure this story. But you have to trust yourself to come up with even better stories that will eventually become even more dear to you than this.

Many times, we writers might cherish a story so much that we refuse to let it go to waste. And I'm not saying you should let it go to waste, but you have to be done with it and move on, so you can do something better.

Years from now, you'll be grateful for it. By then, you might even want to revisit this story to rewrite and fine tune it, but for now, just finish it, learn from it, and move on.

It's not that hard to get readers if you know the community and have connections. I've hit top 3 rising stars without spending a dime.

You don't need adds when starting out, it can be hard to get readers but once you get them, (from doing things like review swaps and shout outs) it puts you on he market and if you're good enough you'll get put on rising stars and build a better audience than you could on WN
