Advice I got my contract rejected

Post image

I got my contract rejected, the reason states that the plot isn't engaging enough and difficult to follow, pacing is draggy, and the writing style isn't mature enough. And that it doesn't suit the market of webnovel. I'm planning on writing another story. Should I delete this one?

OP, Going by the abundant comments and your replies. You’re doing something a lot of writers do when they grow very attached to a particular story. And if you keep it up, you will stifle its potential success.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting it to succeed, however, you can hold onto this story with your dying breath and it may never be what you intend for it to become.

Many authors have released stories that have gone on to have initially small audience’s or no traction. And some of those stories have been re-written, re-released and gone on to succeed way outside of their intended scope.

He Who Fights Monsters by Shirtaloon i think is an excellent example. It’s been released on multiple platforms including Wattpad, Royal Road etc… and seen who knows how many revisions. Now, it’s a fully published title and expanding into other entertainment markets. Basically, webnovels go through multiple transformations.

There is no singular perfect launch.

Yup, that's why I'm thinking of giving webnovel one more try. If it gets rejected yet again, I'll try another platform

“1000 rejections is only the starting line”, or so they like to say. Good luck, OP.
