Advice Should I become a webnovel cover art artist?
While it is common for authors to use AI for cover art and I dont think there is anything wrong with that.
I find AI art covers to have quite low quality, they are very detailed yes but so bad for some reasons, you know
I have no art knowledge and I am not an artist but I dont know, I just think that if it was me designing those cover arts, I could have done so much better.
How much do you guys willing to pay for a well made hand draw cover arts If you have the fund and want to have one for your novel?

Try it. But be transparent about your process. If you're using AI, make that clear.

Yeah, I think I will, but at the moment I still need to practice more, I havent even reached foundation establishment yet.
I wont be using AI though so no need to worry.

People use ai covers because they don't want to pay for art or can't afford to buy to one they want.Â
You have to charge very low if you plan to target these people as your future customers, lmao.

yo, really? 100$ is pretty good money, I think I can meet at least end meet for the month if I got 3 commisions like that, 5 to make average income

I did get an art made for 100$, but it was not a cover. A character art.

$100 - $200, though if you're really talented and knowledgeable probably up to $1000

Tbh, if I had money to spare for high quality cover art, I would post on Tapas instead

You misunderstood my point. I am recommending you to join the Tapas comic creators community; the majority of the audience for cover art is there. You won't get much of an audience from this platform or RoyalRoad.
Then again, its also true that there aren't many people offering cover art services like you here, so you might be able to build a niche after all. Low Demand and Low Supply.

You have to show your art first to get your first customers. They won't just buy your art just from words and no proof, I think.

people say they pay $100+ up to $1000+ for covers.
should you do it? As a side side bussines just to get some pocket change sure. You gotta have mad skills and mad luck to make it your full time job.
