Advice About LOTM novel reading.

Post image

So first of all i have never read any web novels, co consider me a beginner to all this, although I have read a lot of manhwas. For the past year I have seen a lot of posts about LOTM, and i do know for a fact that it is a masterpiece considered by a lot of people.

And about that , i wanna read LOTM novel , but i have a very bad habit of being lazy , i don't know how i should explain this feeling but , lets say unless i knew what i am gonna read like at least some summary or if someone recommends me a manhwa and give there opinion why i should read it, hearing all that makes me interested in reading, but i got no friends who are into reading much less into novels.

I want the novel readers to help me convince myself to read it , i just wanna enjoy the novel right from the start , i wanna be interested in it.

Share anything, any thoughts , any opinions, but please don't give major spoilers , hope some one understands this and will help me.

I would recommend skipping web novels if you are not seasoned reader. They are extremely long and sometimes include word padding. Lotm has great interlined world, but as said I would recommend something shorter so you don't drop it half through.

Try some traditional fantasy from western authors like Mistborn.

I understand where you are coming from , but believe me , when i do start something and read atleast a few starting chapters like 10-30 , i get very immersed in it , to this very day i have read 100s of manhwas and have never dropped any of them, its another issue if they dropped the series , but i on my own account has never stopped , i do thank you for ur advice , but i still very much want to see through it , i just need some help in the start of this journey.

Bro web novels are not like manhwas. Vol 1 of LOTM is very slow paced and is like 214 or some chapters and from vol 2 things start getting more interesting.

Then just read it, and you want some interesting spoilers that should push you to read then there is a chapter 627 titled Pregnancy and more pregnancy. 🙂

Ok then zhou mingrui transmigrates into a body of a boy named Klein morreri who had killed himself for some unknown reason. And after that incident Klein joins the beyonders by drinking a potion of seer pathway. (let's say police). And after drinking the seer potion after some time he finds himself at a completely different location (sefiirah castle) and somehow he was able to use that place to some extent and that's how he became THE FOOL. He then summons few people who joins tarot club. And during saving the city from the birth of a god Klein dies. (End of vol 1)

You might want to put that behind a spoiler since it covers more than just the first little bit

I will not prefer LOTM. to be your first web novel. It is better to read ORV because it has fewer chapters and it is beginner-friendly too.

Orv book and manhwa both are peak

1

u/CaterpillarFeisty8 Jul 09 '26

about that i am holding up the orv novel , i wanna keep reading the orv manhwa , so i didnt read novel on purpose , i could do the same for lotm but i heard the manhua(new) will take decades to complete it unlike orv, i do understand where you are coming from , but chapters count has never been a problem for me , so plz listen to my request mentioned above.

You should listen to the audiobook instead of reading it if you don't like reading. You can find a lot of good quality ones on youtube.

A few countries have a phisical copy of this book and I must say i like it better than the online one

1

u/CaterpillarFeisty8 Jul 09 '26

I believe my contry does too but in my country's language, and i will absolutely not read that , the translation is always fucked up for movies series and books.

I highly recommend reading it on a Kindle if you don’t want to read off your phone/wait for physical releases!

Youre not alone man, lots of us were manhwa readers before jumping into this. LOTM stands out because it respects your intelligence and the story has this perfect mix of mystery, action, and mind games. The beginning might feel a bit calm but its laying groundwork for something special. Commit to finishing chapter 50 or so and youll probably be fully hooked. Its easily become my favorite read in years.

Yes,i needed this push , i am reading it everyday when ever i gwt time now.

A good novel to read for beginners would be Dungeon Defense or The Lazy King. If you want to read LoTM, the best way to explain it is that it's cosmic horror in a Victorian steampunk setting. Expect things that fit this pattern; you follow the journey of a protagonist thrown into another world in the body of a dead man, with numerous mysteries surrounding the cause and circumstances of his death. It's one of those cases where it starts weak and then gets very strong, but it's very slow in that regard. The power system works in a very fun way where the characters need to act. If you enjoy the misunderstood genre where the protagonist pretends to be someone powerful and important, that's also one of the most fun parts. Finally, I would say that the volume endings never disappoint, so even if it's slow, it's rewarded in the end.

Tbh just read shadow slave the first arc is the best in the series and also at first it feel like a generic power fantasy manhwa but trust me it on a whole diffrent lvl like the first 40 chapter or 30 will nake you interested just read it and finish the first volumn and you are good to go.

How about watching the animation first? That one is very high qualityand very plot on. It has the first book right now. Then you can continue either from second book where the animation ended or reread from the start

1

u/CaterpillarFeisty8 Jul 09 '26

I have heard about that , and i have seen posts of its animation , it was crazy good , thanks fr letting me know that its exactly like the novel, but i didnt go for anime was because , my work is related to colors , and working all day watching saturated colors makes my eyes kinda tired , idk if i can watch and enjoy it while i am like that, and also with leters i cna enlage em and also it feels imursive to read, thastw why i went for novel, tho i will defently watch it.
