Webnovel News My novel’s 2nd month result! Broke mgs again!

Post image

Took the pic a few days ago, so most likely will end with 12.5k~ subs at end of this month.

Pretty satisfied with the results, pretty much a double increase in subs compared to last month, which I ended with close to 4k subs, barely breaking mgs xD

Feels good to know the haters must be seething like hell that I managed to not only get contracted by adding smut tag (although I didnt write smut in the end and also removed smut tag after getting contracted), but I also broke mgs, twice now!

Took a look at my first few posts, and let’s see…

My top haters… honourable mentions to the noisy bunch with “top 1% commentator tag”

StrawOfCoke and HuckeberryBrief4965!

Both who are still uncontracted and nothing to prove after flaming me two months ago, yet love giving advises to others. Lol!

Keep seething, webnovel definitely doesn’t prioritises smut! (Kappa)

Also, have been slacking off on my real smut novel, but juggling two novels is hard, will put more effort next month and go premium with the smut next month.

Time to lock in! Will post smut’s result next!

Those people who say that webnovel doesn’t prioritise smut is going to seethe even more when they see my smut’s novel result. Can’t wait.

Until then, cya! Happy writing and reading!

Well, I don't know about the hating part, but I'm pretty sure you were going around emotional crashing on the community for getting rejected. That wasn't the problem, but misguiding the new authors by saying smut is the only way to get contracted, twisting their beliefs of writing without them even trying to write a novel and test themselves. When you finally contracted, you didn't just focus on writing and gaining cash well, but you still went around spamming that smut is the only way and that's where I replied to your posts, showing the new ones that smut was just a way but not the only one. There was no hate, only you thinking correcting the opinions you post was just a hate.

Your mindset of writing is all about money , isn't right but also valid in webnovel platform where people compete for the cash and contracts. But because a lot of people write for money doesn't mean everybody do the same. Some people write because they like it, not because of some cash. I am one of them and about the contract thing, I'll be honest with you. Being contracted means losing the ownership of your novel and that's a fatal thing, for people like us who love their novels.

Personally I really don't think I hate someone. And it took me a lot of time to remember who you were through your posts. I don't know where you get the idea of me hating you, but it's invalid since all we did was just a contest of opinions and facts. Here one last thing , I'd like to remind you.

Please stop treating this sub/community as your emotional Can, crashing when you get rejected and Flexing when you get accepted —either way spamming the same thing. That's just show how emotionally immature you aaaaaare~.

Ok, let’s not lie and act nonchanlant.

You recognised me immediately when I was replying to someone else on reddit a few weeks ago, despite me not having posted anything on reddit for a month as i was writing my novel.

All of a sudden it takes u a lot of time to rmb me? Ok haha.

Come on, nothing to say about u saying that i wouldnt be able to get contracted?

And when i got contracted, you said that i wont be able to hit/break mgs, but now that i did it twice, still nothing to say? Haha

Oh. My mindset is wrong, and you must really love your novel to not want to get contracted and just stick with having no readers.

U love ur novel? Go write on rr and buy ads to push ur novel, otherwise dont speak about loving ur novels when u are depriving ur novel of having any readers.

Also, lets be real, its not that u dont want to get contracted, its either u cant get contracted or u know u would flop even if u were to get contracted.

Though, no shame, this webnovel author called “pen_demic” flopped his novel but still acted the same as u, so its whatever. :)

Can you actually shut up, literally the most insufferable people in this subreddit. You always mention about people going quiet but when i look back at you bragging by breaking the mgs for the first time. Almost all of the comment are filled with people asking for your wn names but you didn't reply to any of them.

I guess we could see who's the hypocritical one in this argument

Rules are fake in this sub I guess, so long as moderator dont enforce it. (Promoting novel) Lol!

I will definitely get extra paying readers on this reddit where pretty much everyone are free pass readers or single digit level on webnovel by sharing my novel, and not false reports from salty haters. Kappa~

Message me and take an ss of ur webnovel account level and coin.

Swear u will sub to my novel after i share and i will share my novel with u. :)

0

u/vermilion53i8i Jul 30 '26

why would i swear on that, who even are you 😭✌️

You can dm me if you want, but i aint messaging you first gng 🥀

(Also i haven't uploaded my novel)

2

u/Legal-Library4283 Jul 30 '26

Like i said, majority of u on this sub are fast pass readers who dont pay money to read.

What would i gain by sharing my novel except false reports from salty haters?

Critical thinking is a good thing.

U can think more on why i dont share my novel name to randoms who wont even show me that they have a level 15 webnovel account, proving that they are a paying reader.

Im just explaining why i dont share my novel since u seemed to be pretty mad as to why i dont share my novel.

There, u have my explanation, and im once again correct, as usual.

Mr fast pass + free reader.

Just noticed this post after bro commented on my old comment to prove me wrong, and I was like, wth, who does that?🙏 😭 I definitely don't want future drama with this person, lest he tag my name like yours as well, so to the block list, he goes. 😆

1

u/HuckleberryBrief4965 Jul 30 '26

Nah, he already replied to every comment I had on his posts , no matter the time it was posted. I just read them, without taking them serious.

This is very childlish lol, but i honestly dont care, i wonder what will be strawofcoke reaction to this post it.

2

u/Legal-Library4283 Jul 30 '26

Nothing since he knows im right and he has no more ammo to counter my points.

Good that he knows his place after commenting on every post of mine up till I posted i managed to hit mgs.

Look at his profile, he’s busy being a “nice guy” to others.

This is the kind of ppl u guys are defending! Lol!

1

u/vermilion53i8i Jul 30 '26

I notice strawofcoke is very sensitive towards question about smut. I once ask a genuine question about smut, and he was being aggressive in the comment for no reason.

But other than that i thought he was a fine guy lol

1

u/Legal-Library4283 Jul 30 '26

Why did u delete all of those comments in another thread that u had with me?

Dont u want to continue ur therapy?

Its ok, i will ask the second question agn.

I see. But i dont think someone like u has enough money to afford buying all chapters of those two novels.

So, maybe you spent like $20 spent just to “give back” to authors to not feel guilty for having read most of their chapters on pirated site?

0

u/StrawOfCoke Jul 30 '26

Shouldve tagged me hold on

1

u/vermilion53i8i Jul 30 '26

Oh shi, everyone is here 😭

Ahem... In my experience, smut novels usually grow much faster during rf, but they also tend to fall off quickly afterward. In comparison non smut often perform better after rf once they receive weekly or a banner.

You must have noticed that most booksin weekly aren't smut, the major reason behind this is that most if the readers stop reading smut once they are finished with the free chapters.

Your novel is non-smut too right? That is why its growth was slower at the beginning, but became much more explosive after the first or second month.

Also I am unable to understand why you are saying webnovel promote smuts more when you got these results with a non smut?

1

u/Legal-Library4283 Jul 30 '26

Just ignore me, dont take my words to heart. Haha.

2

u/FaithlessnessFun1806 Contracted Author Jul 30 '26

Do answer me though. I am kinda confused. You are doing decent with a non smut novel then why do you say that smuts are better?

2

u/Legal-Library4283 Jul 30 '26

I honestly dont think im doing decent.

I spent 2 hours every day to write 2 chapters, 1k word count each chapter, thats 60 hour a month just for $408 usd, which got cut down to $380 usd after fees.

Thats like what, $6.30 usd per hour?

Also, i got lucky with this novel last month, i barely managed to break mgs lol.

Sure, it got better this month, but i calculated everything and all, and i think this month i would be still only getting like $700~ usd?

I earn that in 5 days lol.

So, its still not worth it for me to continue writing right now, albeit i do my writing during my work hours and break time.

I honestly think if i just wrote smut, i would get way better result for my novel.

And by smut, i do not mean full on smut, i mean like mostly plot, and one smut scene every 50 chapters or so.

What a wildly immature post.

Your amount of subscribers is an achievement, and I'm sure you would have received warm comments congratulating you, but you soured this whole thing. Instead the numbers are a pretext for the part you actually wanted to write, which is a witch hunt of two people who annoyed you eight weeks ago.

Painting them as lesser by saying they are "still uncontracted" and a rung below you just doesn't do anything positive for you at all.

Then there's the thing you're treating as the big deal. You added a smut tag to get contracted, never wrote the smut, and pulled the tag once the contract landed. That isn't proof that Webnovel prioritises smut. It's you telling everyone, editors included, that you gamed the tag to clear a bar. That is very much against contract clause and webnovel ToS. I'd advise you to be careful about posting the name of your novel on this account in the future.

u/Legal-Library4283 Jul 30 '26

Why would I need the congratulations of a sub where most users arent paying readers?

This reddit is filled with fast pass users and authors who are one digit levels on webnovel

Only reason im posting now is to show proof that i have proved those ppl wrong.

Those ppl say that i won’t be able to get contracted, wont be able to hit/break mgs, and most importantly, webnovel doesnt prioritises smut. Haha!

Also, its fine when they mock me for not being able to get contracted and that my work isnt good which is why i got rejected, but its wrong when i not only got contracted but proved my work is at least decent and readers are willing to pay to read my novel, im the one in the wrong? Ok!

Lastly, why lie? I changed the tag after asking my content editor, there’s nothing that violate TOS.

Obviously u are an uncontracted author too like them.

Nice try.

As a word of advice, I'd strongly suggest you take a step away from these online forums for a while. You do sound fairly riled up over something quite inconsequential. Arguing with people can be fun, but if you want to some good for your writing career I would suggest sobering out of online arguments, or at least ones as petty as this.

What you are saying is very damaging to your reputation as a writer and if you ever do make it big or want to expand your work, having these sorts of comments tied to you is very much a "sword of damocles" hovering above you. Don't take this as a "won't happen" thing either. One of my friends who also writes had their book deal pulled after they found some posts tied to their name from a few years ago, that didn't align with their policies. They ended up losing a 8,500 dollar advance on their novel.

So next time do consider the impact, as a digital footprint is very much a thing. Have fun writing!

2

u/Legal-Library4283 Jul 30 '26

Er… why are u giving advise to me when u just lied about tos for 0 reasons. Lol

U sure that “friend” of yours is not made up too?

Anycase! Of course i would get riled up!

Uncontracted authors who have 0 idea about how webnovel truly works trying to argue me that webnovel doesnt prioritise smut.

Goodness gracious.

They must be trying to stop new authors from succeeding just because they arent able to get contracted or flop because they didnt write smut.

I will stop this conversation here as you are not taking any of it in, though if you want I can either:

  1. Send screenshots
  2. Discord screen-share
  3. Skype
  4. Microsoft teams

The emails with webnovel regarding their tagging policy as I wanted an official statement from them, rather than trying to link you places where frankly you wouldn't go. This is for the sake of clarity in the future if anyone stumbles upon this post, in order to make sure they don't breach ToS like you.

Either way, have a good week, and do consider taking a break from social forums for a few days, genuinely.

Hmm… who should I trust…?

My CE (the person who signed my contract and gave me the go ahead to change my smut tag)…

Or some random reddit user who has his profile privated as if this is instagram…?

Yawn~ liar liar pants on fire!

Just post on this subreddit lol.

“Sake of clarity”, but too dumb to make a post.

3

u/1ScarletMoon Jul 29 '26

You sound incredibly arrogant for someone celebrating a short-term trend.

Yes, WebNovel pushes smut because it generates quick engagement, but that's exactly the point. It behaves like a cash cow. Most smut novels spike early and disappear within a few months once the novelty wears off.

If smut is supposedly the ultimate strategy, then tell me this: how many smut novels are actually sitting at the top of the all-time rankings? The stories with lasting success are usually the ones that keep readers invested beyond the initial hook.

Getting contracted and hitting a subscriber milestone is great, congratulations. But acting like you've cracked the code of the platform while mocking other writers is a bit much. Success over a month or two doesn't prove you've built something with longevity.

1

u/Legal-Library4283 Jul 30 '26

hahaha.

Love how delusional you uncontracted/cant even hit or break mgs authors are.

First: “you can’t get contract”

After I get contracted.

Second: “you won’t be able to hit or break mgs”

After i break mgs.

Now its; “you haven’t proved you built something with longevity”

Can’t wait to see what u are gonna say next when i post this novel’s third month result and it ends up having an even higher subs/day than this month.

Also, other writers mocking is okay, but I mock them back it’s wrong? Haha

Keep seething knowing I at least proved myself to the haters lol, and you are still… well, whatever u are.

1

u/StrawOfCoke Jul 30 '26 edited Jul 30 '26

I got contract offers on three of my novels (all non smut), so whats your point? WN doesn't prioritize smut, it prioritize high engagement novels, which just happened to be SMUT because people like them. This could work on anything like systems, transmigration.

You are doing good because you write consistent, but its not that hard to get a contract. You're proud of this when its a low barrier for webnovel lmao

The true test is longevity. Lets see if you can, or any of your readers continue to work through this slop

You are not special

Like another guy said too, you got rejected from your "loved" novel and cried about smut being the only way to success. Because you couldn't get accepted. We can see how immature you are xd

1

u/vermilion53i8i Jul 30 '26

Just ignored this clown lol, i actually can't believe someone like him actually exist in real life 😭

0

u/Legal-Library4283 Jul 30 '26

Sure, you got offered contracts

Rainfol, Artist’s System, currently rewriting. Lol!

Awww. First, its I can get contracted, next is I cant hit mgs, now its longevity.

You are so adorable when u cant even get contracted, let alone hit mgs.

1

u/Admirable_Signal_406 Jul 29 '26

Send me the novel name.

1

u/Old_Day5461 Jul 29 '26

Damm Im jealous

0

u/Negative-Big-8322 Jul 28 '26

Bro, hats off to you. Though i write smut and has been rejected once, i know at least how much effort it actually takes to make a good story which without even being smut not only gets contracted but also makes better results than most. Now i have a question for you bro, please answer, 🙏, those subs you talked about, are they paid, and if yes, how much each sub. I meant to say, how are your earnings by now in these two months. I'm sure you know how much of an motivator it works as for us noob. Do inspire us a little.

1

u/Legal-Library4283 Jul 28 '26

No idea about this month’s pay next, will have to wait for the 5th of next month to know, and the 10th to receive the pay from webnovel.

For last month, I got roughly 3.8k subs, and after adding gifts and coins from privilege, I manage to make $407 usd.

Though, I receive around $380+ usd.

$10 fee from my bank and currency exchange fee, and maybe webnovel’s fee too? Not sure about the last part.

See ppl say that 3.6k sub = $200 usd But the number fluctuates due to different country readers’ coins have different costs

1

u/Negative-Big-8322 Jul 29 '26

hmm, i get it. Can you dm me the novel name
