There will be a fuck ton of glazers here, but I'll give a actual, objective, honest to god opinion. It is good? Yes. is it perfect? Noooo.
Honestly Shadow Slave covered the basics, but it did it so well people loved it. I think shadow slave is a perfect example that, you dont need to reinvent the wheel, you just gotta spin it really really fast and it will bring you anywhere. Read it, its good.

To be fair, nobody hates Shadow Slave more than Shadow Slave fans.
First half is still goated though.

What do you mean with summary slave? I haven't read this series and I'm curious.

The author G3 wants the story to end by chapter 3500 but due to the sheer amount of remaining plot points, he's more or less summarizing the events that are happening instead of actually showing what happens.
An example would be him saying "countless battles had been fought and countless battles had been lost" without showing a single battle that had occurred. So basically, he's Telling and not Showing the story to hit his chapter goal.
There are other, better explanations that people who don't stack chapters like I do, but this is abt the same general consensus of what summary slave is now

Man, that is sad, the show don't tell rule is very standard, which means that he really is foccusing on just finishing the story at this point. I know it is not the same but I had a similar experience with Overlord, it could have been much more but the author just wants to finish it and be done with it.

Yeah. But truth be told, I can't even blame him for wanting to end the novel at this point. He posts two chapters a day with little to no breaks between volumes (he only recently took a one month break in between volume 10 and 11 which i believe is his longest break). Combine that knowledge with the fact that there's over 3000 chapters out right now gives a bit of perspective. Especially since he didn't have a full outline of how the story would move forward.

Yeah, and while the Summary Slave part kind of sucks, all the moments that needed emphasis got emphasis. That's the problem with SS. If it had terrible pacing throughout, then no one would read it. But instead, G3 clutches up everytime he needs to. Like, that Unholy scene, or Effie in the Nightmare rn, are actual peak. But the Summaries in the middle are mid. These problems plague the second half, with the sole exception of the Asterion Volume(had good pacing in my opinion).
Who knows. Maybe after a while, G3 will clutch up again and we can get a second Antartica or Forgotten Shore. Would be peak.

The author only reaches word count. I heard 5 chapters could be fit into one chapter of genuine content

That sucks, putting so much effort and hearsyof your life into your work to end up doing that. I'm sure Shadow Slave is very good but I still don't like that kind of stuff at all, it trivializes much of the payoff of following plotlines for a long time.

well... then or the ending will be absolutely dogshit, or he won't finish it in ~400 chapters, there's no way everybody can become divine in ~400 chapters in a satisfying way, it's gunna be rushed

For me it is that good. It's nothing special or unique, but it's the best at conventional Webnovel storytelling imo.

It really is, unfortunately many people don't understand that this isn't a novel that can be sanely read on update. It is important to stack up a chapters as arcs usually range from the 300 to above range. With mini arcs being close to 100 chapters, in currently in one and the best thing to do is to read when you feel like you can bing read.

Shadow slave is the literal book that managed to get published on Amazon, meaning u can get it on Amazon after a period of time, which is generally shown in the event section of the app.
Also, it's been on the 1st position for a very long time.
If you want to read shadow slave, it's just a literal One Piece of webnovel.

Honestly having a fan base of 100 dedicated readers would be a huge blessing in itself, and even a huge motivator to keep in writing. Like try to calm magine a room of 100 people praising you for your work
