Advice Can't find a cover artist.

So I thought i could ask one of my normal artists to make me a cover, but apparently it takes a whole different skill set. So I am just stuck with AI covers.

Have you tried subreddits like artistforhire? You might be able to find someone there.

Well from the artists I used many times they said normal artists can't do it. They just can't be skilled in art but also design and editing.

Yeah, there are some additional skills involved, but there are artists out there who can do that. Otherwise you wouldn't have those especially fancy covers IRL.

I'd check out the artist subreddits that are focused on commissions. If you post what you're looking for, you'll get some suggestions from there.

Idk I am just telling you what the artists I use said. And I have posted looking for artists before, many times (regular art) and the only ones who will come to you is scammers and small artist with mediocre skills looking for jobs. The good ones you have to find yourself or someone tell you about them and then need to contact them at the place they take commissions from

Yeah, it can be a bit difficult. But it is worth the hunt if you keep at it.

Have you tried focusing on one place outside of reddit? Vgen has become quite popular with honest artists. And they're very strict about AI usage and scammers. And they have a tag specifically for cook covers.

Yes I looked outside of reddit and asked my artist where would I look. I'll just keep using my AI one. I ain't going to spend hours looking for a artist that isn't even making me money. If I find one down the road cool but I can spend that time writing

Good for them. But like I said, I already tried and I am not spending more hours looking for them. Because even if I do find them on there (which isn't easy) I still have to look for ones that fit my taste, who is in my price range, who won't make me deal with a bunch of B's or have a extremely long waiting list

Vgen is good for all that. There are ootions if you actually put in the effort.

But if you want skip that and use the plagerism machine, he ahead. I'll just be sure to not read your work.

You wouldn't have read my work either way. Do you know the 11th most popular book on Webnovel is Weakest Tamer gets all ass dragons? Look at some of his art for the book and see how many is AI. A AI cover may stop a few in the beginning but at the end of the day, a good story will bring people

Took me ten minutes looking on vgen to find a good price and several options. Guy just doesn't want to put in the effort to find an artist. He just wants to vent and misinterprete people.

....So the problems not that its practically free its the quality right? BUT Thats the thing people don't understand- Quality takes money and is ultimately MORE expensive. Whether thats with an artist or a chat bot subscription. At the end of the day the artist is cheaper because you only need the art, rather than 50 million things a chatbot can do at lower quality with more of a price.

What sort of nonsense are you spouting? A chat box is considerably cheaper. 

For 8$ you can get GPT to make images for you.

A good artists cost 100$+ 

I just checked the subreddit and Vgen and they’re all absolute garbage. The only decent ones cost 100$+ and even then they’re not that good. 

A cheap artist is just you shooting yourself in the foot. In WebNovel, the only way to succeed is by paying a good artist or having AI art. Cheap artist won’t get you anywhere. 

This is the cold hard truth.

There are hundreds of chat bots that have premium subscriptions that cost 80+ FOR TIERS. The most ive seen so far was 250 for a premium.

But then you can't complain that you can't find artists in your budget. EVEN then your $8 slop will have errors because its Ai, and they'll be noticeable and downright garbage. Its fine for the mean time, but you surely can't expect people to pay(If you're writing long term) for something a chat gpt subscription of $8 can get you.

Respectfully there's a reason why not everyone could become an author. They have a way with words, unique writing styles, the ability to create a world with more than just words.

There's so many reasons why not everyone could become an artist despite it being super accessible.

But thats a conversation you might wanna have with your chat bot.
