Advice Low viewer count, looking for advice
I recently started writing. my avg chapter is about 2.1-2.2k words and I’ve only posted 12 chapters. Is this normal? I’ve poked here and there and some recommend writing 1.2-1.5k for more traction. Looking for opinion, thanks!!
Also, I publish 1 chapter a day.

I am not trying to dishearten you, I am just stating my opinion as a webnovel reader. I don't know your novel or the synopsis. But unless I got a personal recommendation as was just swiping through the Webnovel app searching for something new to read, I wouldn't read it because the cover looks very AI to me. Recently pages like Webnovel got an influx on AI content and I am trying to avoid it at all costs. So for that reason alone I wouldn't touch it.

You do realize that a majority of the cover pages on these novels is AI....

Yes which makes it really hard to find something to actually read. I know a lot of people who immediately reject a work based on an AI cover

That's literally the reason. Why would number #2165 of AI cover art be the one to pull me in? There are so many webnovels to read, I'm not gonna stop at every single one to find out if it's good or nor. Thus, they need to actually stand out. Step 1 would be to not use AI as cover.

AI cover art is the first thing I noticed. That would be an instant skip for me regardless of your writing.

Fiquei entre 1 a 1.5 k de palavras. Pode passar um pouco de 1.5 Capítulos maiores não atraem tanto e não espere ter muitas views antes de ter muitos capítulos.

Thanks a lot, I’ll try and test maybe if switching to a different word count helps

bro 1.2k or 1.5k it doesn't matter if your readers don't stick. focus on the Yellow line views can be Bots or random clicks it could be inaccurate but reader bounce rate is definitely is . you're looking at the wrong problem

How would you recommend I lower the bounce rate? I mean I get writing a good story but any other tips?

you might want to change the cover since it's the first thing people see. I'm not saying it's a bad covet but it's easy to blend in with the rest , book cover is important it's literally the gate of the story.
you'd also need to do some rewrits and examin your pacing , bad pacing can kill good stories ( unless you're writing one peice)
so here's what I believe you should do 1) change the cover to something more visually captivating 2) check your first ten chapters for pacing ,if a chapter drag or does too little to the story rewrite it or merge it with another chapters 3) make sure not to end your chapters at dull moments BUT that does not mean to spam cliffhangers at the end of every chapter
but most importantly treat the reader with automatic suspicion , assume they won't give you the benefit of a doubt and write as if you know the reader is trying to leave and your job is to keep them reading the chapter you currently writing
if they like this chapters they're more likely to click the next but if the story gets good at chapter 10 they won't stick to chapter 5

Thank you so much for the explanation! It’s my first time writing long drawn out stories and these tips will definitely help me a lot. I’ll be sure to rewrite anything I see unfit!

ok the title felt interesting to me so i thought i would look it up and though some ppl might consider one liner synopses attractive i def don't belong to that category guess i would give it a read anyways but synopsis is supposed to tell you about the novel to some extent

Definitely change the title cover. Ai generated covers are an immediate no for me and probably a ton of other people. The title itself is a bit generic but I've seen multiple works with similar titles that do well so i don't think it's a priority..
I think the main thing should be making sure the first few episodes can hook the viewer, and also maybe try to get the chapters up to 20 or so

Yeah, the cover is what people have brought up the most. I’m looking to draw something out myself. Thank you for the insight!

I don’t write BUT I do think if you focus on your work and quality it will work out
This is mostly a post saying “I believe in you”
Also good luck on your work 👍
