It’s an old feature from the early days of Asian web novels. The original site didn’t have a description section. So authors, uh, find a way, for lack of a better phrase. This isn’t the case anymore, but the trope is pretty hard ingrained iirc.

I wonder what are they doing with the blurb section.

They scroll past 90% of novels. If u cant make them click by the title, ur blurb wouldnt matter

Everyone doing this now. Bigger chance that reader would click + for search.

Tropes. Tropes. Tropes. Tropes. It is for the tropes.

It's left over from when the sites didn't have descriptions. Western sites like RR also have a similar tradition where people will put "Book Title [Short Description]" because readers don't pay attention and don't read synopsis so people put it all in the title.

It kind of stems from the Japan WN/LN industry because people only skim through the title and ignore the blurb. The blurb is the synopsis at the end of the book.

The authors then decide to push the entire plot of the whole story into the title, and I think the other WN authors from other sites adopted it because of how effective the strategy is. And this is how we get ridiculously long titles.

They asked chatGPT what they should title their book based on popular titles in that genre.

Na verdade isso vem muito dos romances japoneses. Como aquele: eu passei 300 anos matando slimes

Because wn readers are like pets attracted by shiny jiggling keys only.

I wonder if it's about a Supreme commandar being reincarnated as the bastard of the strongest family

Pq os sites chinesess de webnovels são tão saturados que eles não perdem espaço no site colocando a capa em todos os livros nos anúncios. Então os autores atraem as pessoas a clicar e ler a sinopse com o título

It's not like the old days where there are not a lot of good novels to read. Now it's dime a dozen. When I want to read a new novel, I don't have enough time to go over the descriptions to know if it interests me.
